I am not Iranian, but around 8-10 years ago I bought Iranian rose water online (I believe Amazon) and there was an ad video where they used this amazing song. I might completely butcher this and have not heard this in years but still think about it. Spelling this phonetically (no knowledge of the language) it went something like “reezet reezet…. Kanasho”? And a man and woman in a happy tone said “ahhhh”. Any possible ideas?
An image of Tehran from the future. This is part of an upcoming animation I’m working on that depicts human civilization 100 years from now.
I saw this and thought it'll be a fun post.
Looking forward to see everyone's favorites.
I was wondering if anybody knows where I can find a copy of Moby Dick in Farsi. I live in the U.S. but any website I visit it’s super expensive and I can’t read Farsi so i don’t know if it’s even legit. Any help is greatly appreciated. I want it as a gift for my mom for Christmas.
Hi everyone. This is a picture from a water reservoir in Bukhara, Uzbekistan built in 18th century. It must be in farsi as it was the official language back then. Is there anyone who could possibly write transliteration and meaning if possible? Thanks in advance
Hi I’m planning to a quick hike tomorrow. I check the weather and it’s going to be pleasant weather without any precipitation.
My idea is go to Darband and hike through the standard hiking steps. I did it one time which was long ago and forced to return due to bad weather.
I have 5 to six hours to spend, and I read there are some cross roads in the hike path. Could someone please guide me or give any links that details the hike routes I can opt. I am looking for some medium level hike, just be away from city and out in nature .
Physical - I work out regularly (gym) and does stairs/spinning as well.
How much money should I bring with me to live comfortably in Iran? I plan to stay in Tehran for 2 months and pay for food/Eat out everyday (The place im staying has already been paid for).
What is the general amount for living comfortably in Iran for 2 months in $/Tooman?
Asalamualikum , I'm from Pakistan,so the main purpose of my account is to answer questions related to pakistan(all questions except politics). So if you any questions for this wandering traveler, then ask away
I've taken a Farsi course, but it is all focus on formal Persian that isn't very useful for my needs. Farsi is perfect for talking about someone behind their backs at restaurants and bars. I'm really just looking to understand and participate in casual conversations with my friends who speak a more "informal" version of Farsi. I'm not interested in learning writing or formal language - just want to be able to chat and joke around in everyday Farsi. What are good sources for this? I would prefer audiobook/podcast that I can use while running so I can run the streets and curse in a foreign language, "Mother + 🐱 +🤏 " - If you did not get my reference, go watch "The Agency"
Easyfarsi.com is not something I can use, I am looking for sources that I can use while running or driving (stuck in traffic). The sources I found on audio are old men with beards or women who speak very nicely and formally and want to show they have a degree in British English - useless for attending Persian parties 🕺
Hey, want to come to Iran soon, but i have 2 questions that would like to know before coming
1 is that is it allowed to bring a semi professional camera with me? And 2 is that can i drive in Iran with UAE license or is there some stuff that needs to be done before coming from UAE?
This makes me. Laugh every time

Hello guys, I hope you are fine. As the title says, I'm looking for an azan or adhan sound, it was late in 2010 or 2011 there was an Iranian calendar app for PCs, so when you install that calendar 📆 app, then in the Windows drive, there comes a sound a mp3 sound, so that was an azan or adhan sound it was an Iranian Shia azan, so it was very beautiful and soothing, it's been years I'm looking for that sound, if anyone could help me to find it, I would be so thankful!!
Merci Good time!
Helllo, so due to my grandmother's passing I would like to create a playlist for my family, made from most iconic songs that she might have listened to growing up- period of between 1940-1970.
I am looking for the utmost gut-wrenching, emotional, vocal heavy songs possible to find (would love for a word or two added about the background of each song). Preferrably performed by male singers. If it includes traditional persian style singing/ Tahrir - would be a plus.
One song I know she loved is "Mara beboos" by Viguen. Kheili mamnoon and love to all.
As the title says, I have wanted to visit Iran for more than twenty years and I will now have the chance to do so. Although I am going on a business trip, I will be able to have a couple of days free in Tehran.
To make the most of my time there, I would like to seek your recommendatons on what to do on Sunday and Monday in town, more precisely, on 15 - 16 December.
As a Brazilian, I am very much into sports, design and gastronomy, so I would like your advice on these points. I undersand wrestling is the country national sport. Is there any important competition taking place on these days? If not, what are my option to watch sports with big crowds on these days? On practicing, I love running and I have heard Tehran is very well served by parks. Is there any park with long paths and beautiful scenary you would recommend for a 10k run?
On design, I really wnat to take a Persian rug back home. Where should I look for a reliable seller? I do not mind paying a premium to have something authentic and of high quality.
Lastly, where should I eat on both days? Are there traditional restaurants families visit on Sunday and Monday? I do not have any dietary restriction, but I do not like eating lambs.
I think this is it. I guess these tips would make me busy during my two free days in town. I am sure I will have additional different and nice experiences with the colleagues hosting me in the country.
Hello! This question is about cinema. I'm working on a college project about film celebrities in Iran so I want to ask you: who are the most popular Iranian film directors and actors in the country?
I want to bring a perspective from 'inside' in my project, so I'm interested in knowing who are the most loved Iranian film directors and actors in Iran. I saw that many of them were recognized internationally, like Asghar Farhadi and Abbas Kiarostami, but I don't know if this actually means they are very appreciated in their origin country as well.
Thank you!
It is on my aunts husband's land in mashhad. Amazing.
This poem verse is framed at my Iranian friend’s house. Could someone please translate it or tell me some more info about it?
Is Azad University or Tehran university better? In terms of education, facilities, accreditation and such things...
I am looking to study here for many reasons. I know some people will call me crazy and come with the usual "dude why would you think of studying in Iran"? I am American by the way. All help would be greatly appreciated
Hi! I have a friend from Iran and he is planning to get engaged and married soon. Is it customary to give gifts to a friend when they get engaged/married. If so what would a typical engagement gift look like? Any advice would be helpful thank you!
Hi can someone update the autumn foliage situation in an around Tehran . Planning to visit by next mid of next week and can someone recommend good spots even a day trip from Tehran to see autumn foligae for this season
My grandmother who lives in Iran passed away today and my mother is the only one of her family who lives in America. Due to travel time/costs she's not able to go to Iran on such short notice to attend the funeral. She's very devestated and I wanted to do something/bring something customary, in the context of Iranian culture. We don't have family in America so I just want to do my best to be part of her grieving process in a way that's more familiar to her to better respect the loss of our loved one. Are there any customary things I should keep in mind or do for her? I'll take any advice, I haven't ever had to experience death within the context of my culture, so I feel a little lost. I'm not sure if it makes much of a difference, but her family is specifically from Tabriz and we speak Turkish.
Thank you in advance.
