Any advice on dating Tajik guy? Are they good?
Hello friends!
I will be visiting Tajikistan for a month together with my wife. She will probably stay longer. We will stay in Dushanbe. I looked for booking an Airbnb, but they are rather expensive starting at 20€/night (224 Somoni/night).
Is there a reliable website for searching for an apartment? Or do you know someone who would rent for a month?
The apartment should have things like wifi, kitchen, bed already set up.
Thanks in advance!
Maybe something for Istaravshan or Khujand?
I'm doing a study on such nicknames...
I have seen many posts and comments in Tajik and Iranian subs that are wrong about origin of Tajiks and Iranians. I assume those folks never took a college-level course in genetics or didn't read a recent book (based on science) on origin of humans. Some of the posts are quite racist e.g. "we are from a clean Aryan race." The following is what science has discovered:
After about 3.5 billion years of evolution, the ancestors of all human beings evolved in Africa. That means every human being shares a common ancestor with every other human. It is simply a matter of how far back you need to go to find a common ancestor (a single person) with another person.
Non-African people originated from African migrants who left Africa about 65,000 years ago through:
Some of those who arrived in Yemen and Palestine settled there, while others gradually moved north, east and west. Some went as far as Russia, eventually reaching northeastern Russia, crossing the Bering Strait, and arriving in North America. From there, they continued moving southward. The last place they reached was South America (Chile) around 10,000 to 15,000 years ago.
As you can see, Tajiks, Iranians, Arabs, Japanese, Germans, Jews, Indians, Inuit, and everyone else share the same origins in Africa. The evidence for this is rock solid. I recommend studying academic textbooks or scientific papers to learn more about genetics and evolution. It is truly fascinating. How do we know these findings are correct? 1. Genetic testing of various populations all over the world 2. Fossils and artifacts (some had DNA remains) 3. Carbon dating. 4. Language and Culture. 5. Geology and Climate.
If you want to read a funny graphic book about origin of human, I highly recommend "Sapiens: A Graphic History" by Yuval Noah Harari.
Note 1: The bottom map I found has some limitations. It does not include smaller or newer immigration paths. For example, when Mongols invaded Tajikistan, they had kids with local population which means their genetics mixed up with them to some extent. The map also does not show the Sinai Peninsula migration path.
Note 2: Modern humans (also called Homo Sapiens) interbred with Neanderthals, Denisovans and unknown archaic humans. All other human species are extinct unfortunately.
How much good is it?please dont judge me baaed on my profile I am just interested in how much good is education system of tajikistan thats it.
Ман як хориҷӣ ки дар Тоҷикистон зиндагӣ карда истодаам ва бо тааҷҷуби ман коняки зиёд дар мағозаҳо аст.
I'm a foreigner living in Tajikistan and I've been surprised to see a lot of brandy/cognac on the shelves here.
It is difficult to find reviews and information about the different kinds of brandy here so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I know vodka is more popular here and I have tried (and quite enjoy) both filtered and unfiltered Sim-Sim beer, but this is question is specifically about cognac/brandy.
I wrote a simple version of this in Tajik (I am trying to learn) but I know English a lot better, so if you also have advice on how to write better in Tajik, let me know!
I heard that tajik woman get married young and they do not even able to complete their studies? This is really sad to heard that woman cannot complete their studies and after marriage I heard that they cannot contact with other men is it also true? Also I heard that dating also not happens here?
Hey everyone! I’m trying to learn more about the current state of women’s rights in Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan). I’ve read a bit online, but I feel like real stories and experiences can give a much better picture. What’s the reality like for women there, especially outside of the major cities? Are there any specific challenges or unique cultural aspects that affect their everyday lives? I’d really appreciate hearing your insights or personal stories if you’re comfortable sharing.
hello everyone, i am a part of a Central Asian student association at my high school, and we have a meeting on thursday where we will be holding a Central Asian languages workshop. I wanted to start the meeting by reciting a Tajik poem and have its translation available too, but as i skimmed the internet there was hardly anything readily available and translated. so if anyone is willing to copy paste poems that we can translate or suggest poems with translations and where to find some that would be very helpful. thank you in advance
Can you guys help me find any information about the Minister of Labor, Migration, and Public Employment of Tajikistan, Gulnora Xhasanzoda? I cannot find who her husband is or who her children are. Yes, it sounds very fishy, but hear me out. We have an assignment with our professor about politicians from the post-Soviet sphere. Any help, including source recommendations, will be greatly appreciated.
Hello, I'm from the United Kingdom: I'm planning a bicycle tour to Tajikistan next year, and would like to stay in local guesthouses (меҳмонхона) and homestays, but I'm unsure of how much foreign currency to bring. I have seen some people advising travelling with a mixture of TJS and USD, but which currency do locals prefer to be paid in? I don't want to assume that USD will be fine for everyone; or are locals expect tourists to pay in a 'stronger' currency than Tajik Somoni? I want to make sure I don't offend anyone and have the right amount of cash with me before I leave Dushanbe. Any advice you have would be very welcome: сипос!
I am familiar with how Arabs divide the Arab-speaking world into different regions (Maghrib, Sham, Nejd, Nile Valley, etc) so I wonder if there's a way to do the same with the Iranic speaking world besides languages. Perhaps not, since Iranic languages aren't as similar to each other as Arab dialects are but I'm still curious. Will try to post this question in r/kurdistan , r/Pashtun and r/afghanistan as well.
