Pretty cool conversation and Randy gives a peak behind the curtain of how the band makes certain decisions (creative, business and otherwise). Great job u/forceemm!
Is it just me or do you guys miss when they had these long ass song titles. Like (anyone can dig a hole but it takes a man to call it home) or (I've got 10 friends and a crowbar that says you ain't gonna do jack) and many many more. I know it's "just a song title" but I felt like the titles start off the story just perfect. Idk.
Does anyone in Honolulu want a free ticket? I was going to go but I had some health issues pop up and can’t go. I’m really bummed but it’s life ya know
Yeah the title pretty much sums up this post. Just wonderin why ol’ Jimmy was let go.
These two albums are for whatever reason way, way, waaayyy more sludgy than what Underoath did before or after. I guess it is also because Daniel Davison played with Norma Jean (Redeemer is also really sludgy) so he brought up some spice and spin to Disambiguation.
But today i gave another spin to Lost In The Sound and i have to say, the low end of the album is absolutely amazing. It just melts in headphones. The drum kit has really strong fatness and amazing velocity where i can feel the heaviness of how Aaron played on his kit. The intro of "Breathing in a new mentality" is also amazing due to the panning - oh yeah, the panning on Lost In The Sound is chief kiss. I just love how much space is there between the instrumentals which gives the record richness, proper build ups and offers so much replaybility.
Anyone can dig a hole is another amazing track where i love how fat and devastating is the bass in the middle of the song. Like we can only hear drums and bass, everything else goes away and the bass just rolls. Nothing is better than hearing a heavy type of song where the bass just cracks through everything with a proper distortion.
Really interesting album. The last two songs where everything slows down a lot gives the album some oxygen and immersive atmosphere with meditative tempo. "Good God, can you still get us home?" Yeah man. I guess i just wanted to praise the production quality of the album. Seems like barely anyone is talking about the cool panning overall. I guess when you have Dutkiewicz and mr. Goldman as the main producers, the album will really shine with its technical features.
Disambiguation perfected the formula. Love both these albums.

Hey guys, I missed this hoodie, and I wanted to know if somebody has it size L or XL and willing to sell it. Thanks.
First and foremost, fuck fascist scum. Respectfully.
Second, I’m aware there are mixed opinions on this track. The call and response section of the vocals could be better and so on. I personally appreciate this track more than ever. Always been a big fan of a burn-it-all-down anthem in the post hardcore realm. The religious references are top tier. Religious hypocrisy is and has been rampant for maybe all of time. This song meets the moment with such precision. We now have a front row seat to our demise in realtime.
/Kingdom come Thy will be done It's us versus them/
Thank you, Underoath. 🙌🏻
Edit: this isn’t a political left/right post. It’s social commentary. “When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”
Edit edit: this post does include anti-fascist ideology sentiments or some form of the far right.
mods deleted my post because it’s “leaking” but just be ready in the coming days big news!!
I thought you guys might like this track by track breakdown.
They deleted the newest post from today. The reel is still there but the post with the song snippet has been deleted.
WHAT IS GOING ON!? 😭
I'm just now learning of all this Locus Ultra talk and I'm trying to get caught up.
Edit: Also I'm reading someone is rapping in this project, and people saying James. There's no way James is rapping when people couldn't even get him to talk in interviews so if it's him that wasn't on my 2025 bingo card just saying lmao
So if the theory is underøath is doing this new thing to separate themselves from their persona or do something different, they decided to do it with…
checks again
Norma Jean, the classic Tooth and Nail staple of “Christian Metal”?
I think the only band that would defeat the purpose more would be ABR, and no hate to either band it’s just comical that even in their perceived running from their reputation they just do the same thing. Unless the whole James thing is true and then all of this would make sense because he’d probably wanna throwback to the T&N golden age.
My theory is that it's them just doing whatever they want. They are just fucking around, having fun.
Locus Ultra will play these 3 shows and never been seen again.
Also this has nothing to do with James.
