hey all!
i thrifted a vintage (?) at the drive in tshirt, was looking for more info on it
This one was super interesting while some of that I wasn’t so keen on kind of reminded me of the raw trashyness of In/Casino/out, the really heavy bits I loved reminded me of some of the hard-core stuff of the early 2000s that I was really into like The Chariot ect.
Will be listening again for sure!
This is my first time listening to this album/EP and I absolutely loved it. The production was nice and warm. The experimentation was all there and was super hinting at where they might end up. Great to hear some Latin rhythms.
Well I wasn’t massively keen on the album before this one is awesome. I think the opening track might be one of my favourite Omar and Cedric songs to date !
I don’t know much at the driving music at all and so this is the first listen for me while I did love tracks like Napoleon and lopsided and felt like they were really into a groove with them. I didn’t love the album overall.
Feels more like an Inbetween point between where they’re going and the raw naive fun of their debut album .
I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy listening to it, but I didn’t find it quite as visceral as the debut album
Im attempting to listen to ALL of Omar and Cedric's music and so i started here ...
This was a first time listen to me and I LOVED IT. So refreshing, upbeat, experimental and naive (in a good way).
I got the impression, from If This Ever Get Weird, that the guitar tones are that heavy cause they hadnt really discovered how to get that sound yet. However, looking back on this in an age of rock music that is SOOOOO over produced and constantly beefy, I feel refreshed by the variety of guitar tones and the rough around the edges style!
Particular highlight for me was Ebroglio, really love the spoken work at the beginning (not something i usually love in music)
Album: Amputechture
Member: Omar
Song: Viscera Eyes
Era: 2005 - 2008
I first saw TMV when i was 12 in London in 2009 and it was awesome, since then i still havnt listened to all of Omars albums, or At the Drive in. I want to know there arnt any missing gems, so im gona try and do it this year!
All of the discs are in good condition. Im excited to listen to them
I just watched this. Thought it was pretty good!
Has anyone watched the doc yet ? Definitely filled in a bunch of holes in the bands history for me. Pretty hard on Jim ward I will say. Definitely worth watching , love to hear thoughts
Every time Terranova Compost comes up in my playlist, I swear I've heard the verse lyrics somewhere else before. Have parts of these lyrics been used in another song or are there alternate cuts of this track? Maybe bootlegs, pre-release leaks, or even another band?
Stumbled upon a reel with ATDI in the background. I’m sure it’s Cedrick singing but no idea from what song!! (Sorry for the silly meme) haha
I really like aggressive noisy bare bones guitar like drive like jehu, at the drive in, and fugazi. Anytime I’ve had a teacher they didn’t really like the same stuff so I was wondering if anyone had recommendations. It’s just tricky learning a lot of this stuff by ear and tabs don’t help much cuz a lot of ‘em suck
anyone know if there's footage of ATDI playing Incetardis live? i know it was a b-side and wasn't performed that much. might just be my favorite track outside of Enfilade.
Tried to look it up online but couldn’t find anything
I’ll upload the extra one minute to yt
Was really feelin’ it this morning. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did :)
I used to tape trade a lot about 20 years ago and recently unearthed a bunch of boxes in a supply closet filled with my old CDs. In my attempt to declutter, I have a couple ATDI live bootleg albums I'd be happy to give away or trade to anyone here on this forum. All I ask for is to pay the shipping costs which I'll waive if anyone wants to trade (I'm only interested in vinyl). I'm in Canada so I don't imagine shipping to cost more than $20 although I will confirm with the post office depending on the location. Happy to ship worldwide. Paypal F&F preferred.
The two shows I have here are:
