Sprinter and jumper here, working on a web app to help T&F athletes and coaches create and manage easily training schedules, track progress, and avoid injuries. Made a quick 5-minute questionnaire to gather ideas - would love your input!
If you could, an upvote would really help this post reach other athletes and coaches, and feel free to drop any ideas in the comments! Thanks!
Check out at 17:00 , where speed and Noah Lyles compete in a 50m race
I am teaching a high school history of sports class and am doing a unit on the Olympics and am looking for ideas for the best and most impactful moments in Olympic history. Any country but also specifically American since we are in America. Thanks!
Do you know how much does Olympic Torch costs? I’ve heard that there are collectors who’s willing to pay high for that item. I have one. Please let me know.
India's proposed Olympics masterplan in Ahmedabad
Due to concerns, India and Qatar are less popular candidates for 2036 in this sub. However, they are the two countries spending the most money on lobbying activities. Qatar already has facilities and experience, but its prestige is quite poor due to human rights. India is better in human rights, but it doesn't have facilities and experience. They proposed masterplans like in the picture, but to me proposing sports complexes from scratch seems outdated while we are talking about fewer white elephants and more already built facilities. There are also mutual concerns like the extreme heat in both countries.
However, both bids seem incredibly confident. Qatar has already been declared as the 'preferred candidate' in the media, and India seems to have a big weight in IOC, as Sebastian Coe also flew to India a few days ago as part of his election campaign as the head of IOC.
Do you expect one of these countries to win in 2036, instead of Istanbul, Santiago, and Nusantara?
Back when i used to follow sprinting it was all Jamacia with Yohan Blake and Bolty.
Has another country stepped up with an generational team?
Im trying to catch up on the sport since those days.
Outside of Salt Lake, Lake Placid, & Colorado.
The responses don’t have to be ultra-realistic. They don’t have to have infrastructure in place right now. I’m more interested in what areas could host the winter games based off the fundamentals of physical geography.
Obviously, running with a coach is more beneficial because you get extra guidance, but if someone was truly dedicated to teaching themselves and learning from themselves, could they still go through trials and through Olympics realistically? EDIT: I feel like I should say that this came up in a conversation and it got me curious so I just decided to ask the internet for other opinions 🤷🏾♀️
I'm currently searching a video of my great-grandfather at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, Giacomo Gaioni. He won the Gold medal for Italy on Cyclism on track team pursuit.
In the final he was against Netherlands of It can be any help, and in the semifinale against England
I couldn't find a video anywhere. If you can find It pls put the link in the comments, thank you.
Two days ago the Bolivarian Games (Andean states) began.
A wild mix of different sports. Marathon for example, but also dominoes (yes, those little tiles with a number on them).
