I'm a 15 y old and i really love playing handball. Now I wish to jump higher and gain extra time in the air. What are good exercises I can do to make this happen?
Logically it seems like shotclocks makes more sense and makes for much better and clear rulings. Right now even pros ask the judges how many shots they got left, a shotclock would just makes it much easier. But how much would the sport of Handball change with a shotclock?
Hello all,
I’m the founder of the Sports and Crime Briefing, an online magazine focused on uncovering all types of crime in all sports around the world. Thank you to the mods for allowing this post.
While most of our articles have so far have focused on football, we have noticed that many “smaller” sports have their fair share of match-fixing, corruption networks, owners and referees deciding results, money laundering and more. Many of these have gone on for so long that athletes and officials don’t even speak up, because they fear reprisals, or they think it won’t make a difference.
We want to make a difference. This sounds cheesy, but we really do want to shine a light on all sports.
But we need your help. Those on this subreddit are the experts and enthusiasts who live and breathe handball, and you might have insights into:
• Match-fixing: Have you ever noticed suspicious patterns in matches or results?
• Corruption networks: Do certain organizations, teams, or officials seem suspiciously untouchable?
• Human trafficking or exploitation: Are there whispers about players being mistreated or exploited?
• Money laundering or shady sponsorships: Have any deals or sponsorships raised your eyebrows?
• Anything else?
We’re not looking for random allegations on specific individuals because of bad calls, or complaints about teams who underperform all of a sudden.
We’re after concrete leads or indications of larger patterns—things you’ve seen, heard, or even just wondered about that seem worth investigating.
You can check us out at sportsandcrime.com to see the kinds of stories we’ve been covering. If you have ideas or stories, you’re welcome to message us directly on Reddit or contact us via email at cdalby @ worldofcrime dot net.
Any contact can be kept strictly anonymous. We do not publish half-truths or incomplete stories, we only write what we can back up.
Great game so far.
Danish defence has been immense. France cant get the flow they used to and Kristensen cementing that she is the goalie of the tournament. France is much better in defence than attack tho. Forcing denmark to do special things if they want to score
But its still so open. Could still see both teams winning.

Hi dear friends from Iceland, I am from Croatia and I am going on match Iceland-Cuba 18.1.25. But i cant find in my country anywhere iclandic scarf. If anyone is coming to this match to Zagreb form Iceland is it possible to ask you to be so kind to bring me extra one, I will pay you when we meet in front of arena
I got handball in P.E tomorrow and like its not even the good P.E class but i was still wondering if there are any quick tips for team defence for basically people that have never played before (such as I and the rest of what my team will be tomorrow) because man to man might not be the best of ideas since the skill level is super unmatched cause there are a few guys one that has even played handball before and a few girls scared of a flying ball
I am a left back and I want to learn the best strategies and techniques
This weekend we reffed a game where there are timeouts allowed.
The attack was going and they found the right winger in a free position. She jumped in but her foot was on the circle line and at the same time the signal for a timeout came.
What we decided at that moment was to still give the timeout, but give the ball to the keeper for the offensive foul.
Was that right?
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know of any Central London pubs or bars showing the women's handball final live on Sunday? TIA.
I don’t play handball but the resin and wax shorts have been making their way through tiktok and IG. I do have a question about it having never played handball.
Just as a note for my athletic background I have played football, baseball (at a high level), hockey, basketball, and a little soccer. In Football and basketball I have no issues catching either ball with sweaty hands and no gloves and have had no issues catching a football in the rain with no gloves (some drops have happened).
My question is, why does the ball in handball need resin. Nobody has answered this? Will the ball slip through your hand on a pass or you can’t throw it because too much sweat and its slippery? Why do you need the resin when other balls you can throw and catch no issues without sticky stuff?
Quite a niche question, but I was watching footage from the 1990 men's world championship final between Sweden and Soviet Union and noticed a few things. One thing was how EXTREMELY slow both teams was after conceding a goal. In today's handball that's an opportunity for a country attack, back then the scoring team was literally walking back and the other team did absolutely no attempt to take advantage of yhat.
But the other thing I noticed was a difference in how the players handled the ball (less wrist and more arm and also quite a lot of backhand passes) and how bouncy the ball seemed. So I wonder how big the difference in grip is between 1990 and today? Did they even use resin on the ball and fingers? Is there anyone who can speak from experience in this? 😊
