I was just driving North on 89 between Montpelier and Burlington and was passed by (without exaggeration) over 30 sports cars driving upwards of 100 mph and super erratically all branded “Dynamix” in orange in some capacity. The license plates were all from out of state but kind of from all over the place. Anyone know what’s happening there? Is there a car expo in town or something?

Hello! I am not sure if this kind of post is allowed but I have gotten pretty desperate.

My sister lives in Vermont and has for years, in the Essex-junction area last I heard. She and I are really close, but I have not heard from her in over a month. Drugs and domestic violence are a part of her story but she was clean for a while. I am worried by the silence. She does go dark every now and again, but not usually for this long and this time I have a bad gut feeling.

Are there any resources to be able to determine if she has been arrested, or is in a hospital, or has passed?
Any guidance you can provide to help me determine she is or is not okay is much appreciated. I have tried reaching out to her directly to no avail.

My brother (soon to be in-law) is nonbinary (assigned female at birth) and we want to get them a baller tux for their wedding.

Any leads on tailors or shops in/near VT that specifically work with nonbinary folks would be greatly appreciated!

Over my years in the state, I'm noticing something that feels unique to Vermont. A certain type of Virtue Signaling. For those unfamiliar with the term: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtue_signalling

Do people here actually think putting a "THIS HOUSE BELIEVES IN SCIENCE/LOVE/KINDNESS" sign on their lawn is changing hearts and minds? Why does it feel like the majority of this state thinks that everything they do is earth friendly/not racist/extra organic and it makes them superior to everyone else?

Is it the echo chamber that our small communities have become?

Is it the lack of political and actual diversity among the population?

In short: Why do Vermonters Virtue Signal so much?

I just noticed today that Londonderry transfer station is now going to start charging to drop off recycling starting Dec 1st... it has been free drop off for the last 5 years I've lived here... that being said. Why would I even bother to separate recycling now that I have to pay to dispose of it just like normal trash instead of just tossing it with my non recyclable trash... the only incentive for separation for me was it was free to drop off recyclables.

It gets me almost every time; it's spelled as it's pronounced. Fair-lee. That’s it. Anyone else have a town name in VT that seemingly gets butchered 85% of the time it’s said?

I usually just chuckle when it’s mispronounced and don’t think much of it. Occasionally, like now, I question everything. Wouldn’t your first attempt at a new word be to pronounce it as it’s spelt??!

Do any of you know of any resources on this? (Or even just news on certain justices being problematic or good?)
