Anybody hear a big boom around 4:30? We're in the Lake Sunapee area.
Does anybody have experience with any of the NH Housing grants / mortgage programs that are offered? We're currently looking into all available options for loans, grants, etc to purchase a home and the grants offered to cover part of the downpayment and/or closing costs for low - moderate income buyers. These programs are attractive, but I'm sure there are stipulations, as there are with anything. The grants that we're currently eyeing are NH Housing's "Home flex plus" and "Home preferred plus" options.
This link is to the "Home flex plus" plan. It's my understanding that the grant is offered to the buyer as a 2nd mortgage, which of course has its own problems in my head.
I'm primarily looking for personal experiences from people that have utilized these programs or have further knowledge of how they work, if they were as helpful in the long run as they appear to be, etc. Thanks!
Just wanted to start a thread and give space for anyone working with human rights organizations to share about their work, what the needs are, where they are located, and how people can volunteer and support their efforts. The results of this election, both national and local, have lit a fire under a LOT of people who are now interested in participating in local grassroots movements that haven’t already. For those of you already involved in this type of work, thank you. For those who are interested now, welcome 🤍
Growing up my family hardly ever acknowledged Christmas. Now that I am married and in a house of my own, I'd really love to find some nice "Christmassy" types of things to look forward to each year. Anything from holiday markets, to charities, to activities, anything at all I would love to hear. The idea would hopefully be to find some new things to see and new traditions to make, especially should we decide to have kids in the future. Thanks in advance!

Hello! I have two down/puffer style winter jackets with zippers in need of repair. Checked with the cobbler in Concord and his machines are too rough to do the repair. Looking for recommendation of someone to do it in the Seacoast or Concord area. Thanks!

Seems like a well qualified candidate and even more American than a white democrat.
Looking for some good recommendations for quality metal detectors. Also, some cool places to use it! I want to get my son (he’s an adult for reference for the recommendations) one for his birthday. His girlfriend enjoys looking and finding sea glass, so I thought adding a metal detector to their adventures would be fun. Any suggestions?!
Hi, everyone. I’m an international student studying in Boston with a valid international driving permit (IDP) and my foreign driver’s license. I’ve been in the U.S. for over 60 days, and soon I’ll need to drive through New Hampshire on my way to Canada.
In Massachusetts, my IDP is valid for up to a year. However, I read that under New Hampshire law (RSA 263:35), nonresident drivers who establish residency must obtain a New Hampshire driver’s license within 60 days. Since I’m not a resident of New Hampshire and don’t intend to become one, I’m wondering if I’m permitted to drive through NH with my current IDP and foreign license over 60 days since I entered the US.
Does anyone know if this law affects nonresidents simply passing through the state? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
It’s a little thing but I am wondering if Ayotte will move forward on renumbering the exits to their mile marker, as other States have done, and the Feds have required to receive funding. Sununu refused to, stating that he was a “proud to be an Exit 3 guy.”
He seemed to believe that people know their current exits, as if GPS doesn’t exist. When they first introduced the change, I found it annoying, but now I’ve come to depend on it. It’s nice to see an exit and know it’s so many miles to mine.
With recent events, especially after all the assassination attempts on Trump, and Democrats acting like Republicans are literal Nazis, I'd like to buy a gun for self protection. But I worry about being physically attacked or even shot at for visiting a local gun shop, which could lead Democrats to assume I'm a Nazi for exercising my constitutional rights. Maybe a gun shop far away from urban areas?
Hi all, With recent events, I figure it’s probably about time I exercise my second amendment rights and don’t leave myself completely unprotected. I’d rather my money not go to a die hard right winger but also realize that my options there are probably pretty slim. And recommendations? Or just gun shops that aren’t going to be super in your face about it?
So my wife and I are shopping for an investment property in Manchester, Concord, Hooksett, Pembroke, Pittsfield, Belmont, or Laconia.
We really like a house just outside Pittsfield but the town is incredibly run down. As in, we don't see much possibility we'll ever go into that town except maybe for gas.
Anyone know if there's anything to recommend that location? Do people simply commute to Concord or what? Would it even be possible to rent out the place?
They deleted me for posting multiple videos, all of which included horrible drivers and were approved by admins. Hope the 21.3k views one of my videos got on your page boosts engagement scum bags. They also blocked me on messenger so I couldn’t even ask what I did to be removed. Crazy.
I have so many questions for you... (I-293 in Manchester)
Hello!
I am going to be moving to New Hampshire from Florida for work soon. Nashua in particular! I am looking for safe and affordable places to live no more than 40ish minutes outside of Nashua.
I’ve checked out the Merrimack Bedford area (top choice so far), Derry, and London Derry. I am wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions for us when looking for apartments/houses?
Thank you in advanced for any advice!
Edit: we also have a 50 pound dog and are looking to spend no more than 3k on rent
Update: I just wanted to thank everyone for their information! It would be hard to comment on everyone so I figured I’d put it here. This will really help guide us in our moving endeavor!
Who are the people that can be bothered to vote for president, but leave the governor blank? Make it make sense.
Hi all, Just an fyi Hannafords website and mobile app have been offline since Weds afternoon. Many stores cannot process debit/credit/ebt payments, so you’ll need cash if you’re planning on shopping.
The prolonged outage is indicative of a possible cyber security breach on the company, as it’s losing money by the hour. I would be very cautious on using any form of debit or credit payments at at this time at their stores.
Me and a few of my buddies own Tacomas and want to take them off roading somewhere in New Hampshire, does anyone have any recs?
My boyfriend and I are going to be in Manchester soon and are both very adventurous eaters. Any suggestions for a good date-night restaurant that offers a more unique menu? Something that might not pop-up on the typical searches or is a bit off the beaten path?
Edit: Thank you all so much for the wonderful suggestions! We ended up at Campo Enoteca and had a fantastic experience. But, now we also have quite a few options we are excited to try in the future :) Thanks again you lovely reddit peeps!
Hi, anyone know when to normally expect a bill for your property tax here in Bristol NH? Is it supposed to arrive by mail before this month ends?
