What will increase in price in NH because of tariffs?

Maine gets 90% of heating oil from Canada. Do we get electricity from canada? Not looking for a political debate just curious what we will be looking at in nh specifically for increased cost.

Caves and or mines in N.H.

Hey there! Before you answer with lost river gorge or polar caves, I’m not looking for touristy stuff per say, I also am aware of the redstone quarry mine but I’m curious if any actual caves or abandoned overhead mines exist in the state of New Hampshire. Though if they exist in our nearby neighbors states, I’m fine with that too.

Shopping carts rant

Fuck you lady with the blue Subaru wagon at market basket by exit 17!

I park away from everyone so I don’t get dinged … just like you!

Don’t leave your cart to get blown into my car because you are too fucking lazy to bring it to the corral. I don’t want my car scratched due to you.

Rant over

Best Indian food for a newbie?

I’d really like to try Indian food, especially butter chicken. I have the palate of someone who grew up in New Hampshire, so I am not looking for a high spice level. But I am trying to expand my horizons beyond naan bread from Hannaford. Any suggestions in the Manchester area?

Snowshoeing spot?

Where should I take my family snowshoeing tomorrow? Groomed trails or something else fairly easy would probably be best for skill level. Thanks.

Places to make friends in Southern NH?

I’m an adult, recently moved to Salem and wondering if there are any local events/clubs/etc in town or the nearby area where I could meet people and make connections? Trying to google this just gives me a bunch of children’s camps lol

Can’t do music venues or clubs due to strobe lights (epileptic), and I’m well into my 30s anyway 😅 hobbies are pretty varied but I am into some nerdy/fandom stuff so don’t be afraid so suggest niche stuff!

Willing to do pretty much anything as long as people are friendly and welcoming!

I want to go out for breakfast in the next week or so. Who has the best pancakes in NH? Preferably 25 ish miles from Concord. Bonus points if you can take a kid who doesn't sit still.

New England Autonomy Movement (N.E.A.M), Non-Profit Organization

I did not see anything in the rules about promoting other reddit threads or websites, and this does directly impact and effect New Hampshire. We are looking for volunteers and members to help us with making this a reality.

What are we?
We were created to shield New England from the rampant influence of the wealthy in politics, and the chaos of the federal government, while also working to address local issues such as income inequality and the high cost of living. We believe that all of these problems could be resolved by advancing New England’s autonomy and self-sufficiency, something that will ultimately enhance the economic, social, and political prosperity for the region. We hope to achieve this by strengthening state governance, fostering regional collaboration, and encouraging investment in local manufacturing and infrastructure.

At our core, we are a movement seeking a way to restore our personal liberties and the ability to live our own lives without subjugation to the wealthy and their political puppets. We are fighting to stop authoritarianism and fascism, and for the communal protection of everyone who calls this place home.

Specifically, we would create State agencies and departments to replace existing Federal ones, while pushing for a buildup in local manufacturing, alternative energy, and agriculture. We hope to simultaneously work to strengthen workers’ rights, LGBTQ protections, and affordable healthcare. Eventually, moving on to help establish legal pathways for secession. While this is not our main focus, our hope is that if legal pathways were there, it would give states the leverage needed to hold the Federal Government accountable. Giving power back to the people, rather than the corporations and private interest groups. While also serving as a last resort for New England, or any region, in an increasingly corrupt system. That being said, our main focus is on creating stronger states and local governments rather than secession. And we wouldn’t pursue that until our other goals were met.

This movement exists for 3 purposes:

  1. To develop an organization that will push for ballot initiatives that increase the legislative, judicial, and economic autonomy of our states from the rest of the US union.
  2. To develop an organization that will aid local and regional businesses to grow, allowing New England to become more economically independent from the rest of the union.
  3. To support the right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness, a promise that New England had a major part in establishing when the US union was first formed. A promise that the federal government has long since given up on.

Best area to downsize and retire to (not North or west)

I've been living and teaching in southwestern NH for over 3 decades. I've loved it, but our kids are grown and two moved east (still NH) as well as a sibling and my best friend. My parents and two siblings live east over the MA border (yuck).

We plan to downsize this summer. My area has a much lower housing price but high taxes. We don't need to be right near a city or highway, and we prefer to not be right on top of others (going from 18 acres to 1/5 acre would be hard, lol). I'm trying to stay within two hours of everyone (from lakes region to seacoast to MA border).

I know NH decently well. I've spent most vacations in the White Mountains and have family in the Hudson/Derry area and some of the seacoast.

I'm looking to learn about cute, maybe smaller towns that are a bit more affordable than those MA transplants have taken over. Ones good for 55+ with easy access to getting to water, outdoor hikes, grocery shopping, and healthcare.

Ideas?

Edit: I am not looking for people to tell me there are no homes or "good luck." I'm looking for area ideas to explore. We have a NH home and will likely bank the equity for a cash offer but rent between while we explore. We may even build.

I'm just looking for places to explore that aren't too congested but have medical needs and bodies of water within an hour. A nice walkable downtown in the town or close one is a bonus.
