Hey guys! I bought a tracfone plan and never ended up needing it. I can’t return it — it’s a $40 plan will sale for $30! Lmk.
We have been spending the weekend throughout the area to get a feel for things. What are the best places to live for young families? We are late 30’s and have an 11 year old daughter and 7 year old son. Would love somewhere that really feels like a community with others raising their families.
You should go see it.
We have a Lopi gas stove that was purchased from Esersky's hardware in Claremont, which is no longer in business. I've spoken to the stove place in WRJ who doesn't service Lopi stoves and with the stove place in Lebanon near exit 17 and they won't service it because it wasn't purchased from them. I also called our gas provider and they don't work on these stoves either.
Can anyone suggest another place that might work on this? I just want to have it checked, out, cleaned up inside, adjusted if needed, and have a replacement glass gasket installed.
Thanks for any suggestions.
I'm looking for a private instructor or someone who could help me practice for the roadtest and a vehicle that can be borrowed for the actual DMV road test in Concord. It seems like all the driving schools are out of reach for me as they are either impossible to get to without a car or out of state or they are all filled up until next year of August.
I'm a new resident in Lebanon, NH and just moved from a different country because of my medical job. I've alwasy relied on public transportation and have only realized the situation I put myself in. As of right now, there's no way for me to get to work on the weekends as the Advanced Transit (AT) buses don't run on weekends as early as I need it to and I'm pretty sure they don't even run on Sundays. Given that's the case, I'm currently walking about an hour for commute to work on the weekends and another hour to get back.
I've heard from the locals and coworkers telling me that I will have to get a driver's license sooner or later due to the forseeable winter as it can get pretty snowy. I guess not planning things out was a idiotic mistake on my part.
Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.
Does anyone have any experience with Korean-style traditional archery or similar? I was exposed to the Korean horse bow a long time ago and always wanted to explore it more. If anyone does this kind of archery, I’d love to learn.
Does anyone have recommendations for shops that will install leveling or lift kit for a truck? In the Upper Valley region.
Hello everyone, I just discovered that there is a proposed trail to connect West Lebanon to Hanover. They are in the planning phases and need all the support they can get.
Here is a link to the website where you can sign your support for the proposal.
I think they'll really appreciate any support!
Looking for any daycare recommendations near Lebanon NH for a newborn, around 2-3 month old, ideally within 30min driving distance but pretty flexible. Thank you in advance!
Anybody ever use them for maintenance? How are they to work with? Have they ever done anything stupid to your car?
Just seeking general feedback thinking they might be a good option to avoid using a local car dealership that I very strongly dislike.
I have an LL Bean jacket that I love, but the zipper needs to be fixed/replaced. Does anyone around here do that?
I learned the fun way that LL Bean hasn't had their lifetime guarantee for a while now!
Hi there! My partner and I are moving to Lebanon this month and I was wondering if there are any darkrooms within a 20-30 drive from there? Dartmouth has one but I believe it's not open to the public. Realize this is a long shot but I thought I'd ask anyway in case there are fellow analog photographers on this sub. Thanks in advance :)

Hi, as the title suggests I’m looking for recommendations on local companies for mold removal. During the flooding last year we got some water in our basement NBD has happened before but now a little over a year later we’ve noticed mold in several place in our house and basement despite constant running of a dehumidifier and it’s becoming more than we can treat ourselves.
TIA for any recommendations!
Any recommendations on wedding dress preservation places near Lebanon? Preferably no more than 40 mins away (I have a toddler that doesn’t do super long car rides lol)
Hi, I'm relocating at the end of Oct to the Upper Valley for a job in Lebanon/Norwich. I've been looking on zillow and apartments.com and just curious if anyone knew of any other good resources like good realtors/property management or housing websites?
I (27F) recently got a job up in the upper valley here and it’s been about a year and I think this may be the loneliest place I have ever lived. I am a very outgoing and personable, however whenever I try to make friends or connect with people here it falls flat. Even going on dates is not going well (or at all honestly). I have never had any trouble making friends until I moved here. This loneliness is pushing me towards depression and I don’t know if I can handle it. I absolutely love my job but I don’t know if I can stay because of this lack of community. Please any and all advice or personal experiences welcome
My wife and I are moving back to VT after a decade away. We are going to be moving to Bradford and are in the process of setting up our utilities and all that stuff that comes with moving. I wanted to ask what internet is best in the area - do you all have any recommendations? Also - we currently have T-Mobile for our carrier… I’ve seen mixed reviews as to whether we should keep it when we move to the area. I would appreciate any thoughts on that as well! Thank you!!
Hi. My wife vehicle seems to have caught a bit of rust around the rockers. I have called a few places but all have said they do not work with rust.
I'm looking some recommendations. Somebody can have a look and give a honest diagnosis and quote if it would be possible to fix.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
The rental I am looking at has hookups so I want to buy a used washer and dryer but prob won’t take them with me when I move away in a year or so. I welcome all suggestions since I don’t know the area!
What is there to do inside for high energy kids around here? This rainy weather is making it very difficult to manage a high energy kid. We still go outside in the rain but not like when it’s nicer weather. Usually we would go to a trampoline park but the closest one is 1.5 hours away. Any suggestions?
Lost our chocolate lab after 15 years not too long ago. I miss her. She loved to swim. Could swim circles around bigger dogs, loved kids and responded to all commands though she had no formal training. I assume everyone agrees with me
Does anyone know of any motorcycle shops near Lebanon or Hanover? I have a Yahama 650 V-star custom that needs a basic tune up/inspection and front turn signals that need replaced/repaired.
TIA!
Just a heads up that if you regularly consume the Diet Orange Dry from Polar, particularly the 1 liter bottles that were on sale for 67 cents at Shaw's recently, don't just start chugging it.
I have opened 2 from the same batch that had gone bad - they were absolutely rotten! The contents looked fine but tasted nasty and smelled fetid and violently sprayed out like they were fermenting for awhile. Thankfully I haven't gotten sick but I almost did at the smell!
I have opened other bottles of both diet and regular sugar from different batches that were perfectly fine.
The date and batch codes are:
Apr 11 2025 CTRV
20:51 PW4 WV2
I have contacted Polar just today and will update with anything they say. This batch may need to be recalled.
Edit: Update 1: 6 Aug: polar responded with a generic message saying they were aware. No offer to replace the nasty bottles:
"Thank you for taking the time to write to us about your recent experience with our products. We do apologize for the Polar 1-liter Diet Orange Dry that you purchased. Polar Beverages is aware of the issue, and while there are no health concerns, the product does not meet our quality expectations so we will be removing it from the store shelves and replacing it with good product.
Please accept our sincere apologies for your inconvenience. We value you as a consumer and will send you a Polar coupon in the mail.
Thank you for contacting Polar"
Update 2: 15 Aug: they ended up sending me a few coupons for free bottles of polar products.
I’m having a hard time finding housing in the upper valley (surprise!), but am especially shocked by how few places allow dogs. For such a rural area, renting with a dog here is more difficult than both urban and rural places I’ve lived before. I guess this is more of a rant than a question.
Hello.
My friend has an aggressive lymphoma type cancer.
They are scheduled to start chemo at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) week from tomorrow.
They need to get a second opinion ASAP.
Any advice?
Thanks.
I’m struggling with kid friendly activities this summer. It’s been too hot for my kids to spend a lot of time outside if we aren’t in the water. The only splash pad I’m aware of is Montshire museum. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great but we are looking for a change of scenery. Are there any other splash pads? Any community outdoor pools? The ones I’ve come across are part of country clubs and rather pricey for a day. How is the water at silver lake? Any other kid friendly indoor activities besides the museum and library? I’m open to all suggestions. I know about all the hiking but my kids aren’t having it. Our condo doesn’t have AC so when we go out we are looking for ways to cool off.
