Do you think there will be a ton of snow Saturday night in VT? Should i reserve a hotel for Saturday night? I don't want to be late to my test at noon Sunday. I am coming from CT. 4 hour drive.
Can I just say the fact that decisions are coming out NEXT SATURDAY is freaking me out. Middlebury is my top choice, and this is literally my biggest stress in life right now. My interview went unexpectedly, and I just hope I made a good impression with my rambles. Wishing all who are anxiously waiting December 7th a nice warm hug. (I’ve been contemplating my life everyday for 3 days now.)
Hello! I'm in the middle of submitting my application for Middlebury and the description doesn't give too much clarification into what I am and am not allowed to submit. If anyone has submitted an art portfolio supplemental before, are process photos and sketchbook work examples allowed and/or expected?
How's the social scene here? Frats? What are the most popular bars?
Hi guys, I just submitted an application for the summer language immersive program at Middlebury (I attend a different institution, NOT Middlebury.) it took me to the save and pay page after I was done (blank page that simply states the application free amount with a submit button underneath it) and I pressed submit assuming the next page would be a page to input my card information, however it submitted altogether. It says that my application fee was received even though there was no card information section and I have no payment methods whatsoever saved on my laptop. Could someone clarify what’s happening for me please? Thanks 😅
I am trying to decide between Middlebury or UVM to do an exchange to study environmental science/sustainability. I know Middlebury’s program has a long history but would appreciate to hear from students in the program about their experience. Thanks!
Just curious as to how competitive admission is to the immersion program for French. Don't exactly have the best grades, but I am set to graduate in May? How does the rolling admissions process for the program work? If you don't get accepted in the first round, will they keep rolling you back?
I'm just a Midd senior curious to hear about what people are wanting to do after this year. Especially interested in people who anticipate graduating without a job/school lined up. I might do peace corps...but who knows.
What’s the most affordable but safe way for students to get to and from the airport? I was surprised to find that Uber is not really an option in Middlebury but at the same time the airport is far enough away that costs would add up for a student using Uber to get to and from the airport every time they need to fly home.
I went on a visit to Middlebury mid week and noticed the campus seemed very quiet and a bit lonely. Not many students were walking around and no one was walking with friends, sitting out on the grass, etc, despite it being a warm day. I felt a lack of that “energy” or “college vibe” you see at a typical campus.
I am from NYC, and am not used to a rural isolated town. I am worried about being bored especially since I’m not into skiing, so if I am going to attend I would like to have a strong sense of social life and a strong community, and what I saw during my visit concerned me. Anyone have any input?
Does anybody know when the "deadline" is to submit a glimpse video? Does it have to be submitted by the same deadline as other regular application materials (e.g. Nov 1st for ED), or is there a certain time period after the deadline to submit it? Currently I'm planning to submit my common app tonight and do my glimpse tomorrow.
So is there anyone here from nepal studying in middlebury. I want to apply but most nepalese I see going to midd are UWC-kids and I'm thinking that as I'm a not one of those nepalese uwc kids will I have a significantly lower chance of acceptance? Does midd love uwc kids that much?
So I'm an international student studying A levels and i hear that most international students in middlebury are all uwc kids? Is that true and how rare is it to find non uwc internationals in midd?
Just asking for a friend, but where could I find a pair of pliers possibly? If anyone knows, I would really appreciate:)
I’m an nyc student of color interested in studying international relations and Spanish. I know middlebury is beautiful but what do people do on weekends? Is there a town? Is the student body diverse?
What proportion of people getting into IB from midd tend to be international?well yes the proportion of internationals is already less but adjusting that, do internationals decently place into IB every year from midd with no prior connection in US and building everything from scratch??
I want to ED2 to middlebury because i think i have a pretty good shot and i'm absolutely satisfied with everything in middlebury. I want to major in econ and prolly maths or stat as double major or minor for a finance career. But if they include loans in my fin.aid package how much is it likely to be. Can i do smth to avoid loans in my package and purely just waived off aid and if the aid is not smth i'm able to pay what can i do about the binding restriction??is there a chance for an ed applicant suffering from high loans in package?? or unable to reject offer despite less aid??
My kid is considering applying ED to Middlebury but we're confused about the programs in Washington, D.C. Does anyone know if the CapitolWorks program is still running? The info on the Middlebury website seems out of date, referencing 2019 and 2020. Are there any current programs in D.C. beyond a summer internship? thanks!
I was in Scuola Italiana this summer and loved it there in level three. The professors asked me to apply to the graduate program and said they’d support my application 100%. Only problem is the placement exam. I’ve got huge anxiety about it (as well as testing in general). It feels like I have to get a perfect score to be accepted, even though I do not test well most of the time. What’s been other people’s experience of it? Is it as bad as it seems in my head or is it actually okay?
Hi, I'm a prospective student who is debating whether or not to ED to Midd and I was wondering if anyone knows what the Hillel/Jewish student life is like on campus?
On Google, it said that there are roughly 250 Jewish students on campus but I am interested in the overall feel of the community, so if anyone is a current Jewish student at Midd please provide any insight you have :)
Please tell me about the good and bad at Middlebury. What are some important things to know?
Also, does anyone know what the architecture program is like?
Hi! I am looking into applying to Middlebury for transfer, a major reason I am looking to do so is the athlete culture at my current institution. The overall feel of the college is very much like a larger school with D1 sports. The athletes are very much Athlete-Students not Student-Athletes, if that makes sense. What I am getting at is, are the athletes at middlebury, students before athletes or athletes before students, and can you tell who is an athlete based off of their vibe, friend group, and/or cliqueyness? I am also wondering about the queer student life, what is the college like from a queer student's perspective? Are queer people the majority, and do they feel welcomed/are they welcomed and treated as equal/not the minority?
Endlessly frustrated by the lack of change in the wake of Evelyn's death, not to mention the death of Ivan, who would die not even 50 days after students held this sign during a silent protest outside old chapel in honor of Evelyn.
I met Evelyn under a different account right here on Reddit, and we bonded over a shared frustration with the difference between the caring Middlebury we had been enticed into and the brutal reality of the isolation and lack of support that struggling students experience once they are actually a part of this community.
"It's like they legit wouldn't care if you died" she once told me.
Her words have proved to be painfully true.
I recently came across a website regarding Colby College

Since I know Middlebury is also a NESCAC school, I was wondering how different Middlebury is from this
I know middlebury is excellent for economics but what about the more tech focused side of finance? Does middlebury place well for grad school in financial engineering/related fields or for the fin tech industry in general?
I was wondering if anyone else got into discover middlebury. I received the email this morning and was super excited! If anyone has anything to share abt the program or campus please do! I honestly don’t know much in particular about what this specific program entails
Hi, I’m a prospective student, I’ve been looking into a lot of the northeast liberal arts colleges, I really like the outdoorsy elements to them and the great support they all seem to have for their students. I was curious about middlebury’s study abroad and language immersion programs, can any major do these programs? If anyone here has done a program like this how did it go? And I guess if any current or past students want to add any input on the school in general anything would be much appreciated.
Hi, I was wondering if there are any cool private spots on campus that people have more privacy or just be in a chill place. I know about the swings, and Hep has the balconies, but does anyone know any other secret/hidden spots on campus. As an introvert, I would I really appreciate knowing where to hide.🥲😅
