Does anyone know what address I should use for a grocery (instacart) or DoorDash delivery to CCRH?
Hi ! I had a question about CSS as a first year undergraduate student who is applying Early Decision II. I kinda forgot about it and I am finishing it today, but UVM says it's meant to be sent in no later than today, Feburary 1st. Will this affect my acceptance and federal aid package I receive? I know it takes about two days to process but if I submit it today everything will be good right? I'm just confused on what CSS is used for also at UVM.

I’m interested in transferring to UVM as a sophomore from community college. The one thing that i have trepidation about is being able to formulate friendships as a transfer, as I’m already a pretty introverted person. Anyone transferred in here who can speak on their experience, or any advice or thoughts on the social scene would be appreciated!
I’m going to commit to UVM in the next week but I wanted to know opinions on dorms.
Just last week I visited a friend there and saw her dorm in Christie which I thought was really nice, tho the bathrooms and little kitchens felt very out of date. Other than that I’ve only seen the show room dorm in central.
I’ve heard that Redstone and Athletic campus are the nicest. What are your thoughts? Im more attracted to Redstone as I feel the slightly separated location is nice for a school/life balance. What halls, other than Christie, are nice and available for freshman?
Hi there! I applied to the neuroscience phd for the fall program and haven’t had any news. I wanted to know if this was normal or if they regularly sent the acceptance/rejection letters later in the year. Thanks!
Did any students go to their admitted student day? If so, can you tell me if the experience is really invaluable? Not sure I'm gonna make the trip up… But definitely intrigued.
Hey everyone, this is Joe, co-founder of Coursicle. We just launched a new feature that lets you keep track of your assignments on Coursicle, including automatic syncing of assignments from Brightspace: https://imgur.com/a/p939bYp
We know not all professors are good about putting their assignments online so we thought it'd be helpful to have a centralized place where you can see all your assignments organized by class and when they're due, including the ones your professors don't post (you can add those manually to Coursicle): https://imgur.com/a/naP3xme
Here's a link to try it out: https://www.coursicle.com/uvm/?s=reddit
It's a very new product, so we'd love any feedback you have. We'd like to know what we'd need to change about the task feature that would get you to use it on a daily basis. All Reddit users who give it a try and comment below with feedback will get a free semester of premium. Thank you!
Would love some feedback from anyone who is a part of the Gaming Learning Community. What is the expectation about participation in events? How is Jeanne Mance Hall as a living space? What would you say to anyone thinking of this as a housing option either positive or negative?
Hello UVM subreddit! There are still two open spots for trenchball on thursdays at 10pm. My friends and I have a team and there's only one other team, and we need more teams to sign up. Trenchball is a super fun game which is pretty much dodgeball, except you're never really "out."
Technically signups are over but I'm sure if you emailed rec sports they'd let you make a team. PLEASE WE WANNA PLAY FOR OUR SENIOR YEAR
Hi everyone, im joining as a nursing student next year and Im looking for someone to give me advice on what supplies I need. Thanks!
Hi! Anywhere on campus with the NFC championship game on? I can’t think of any on campus spot with a regular old tv. It’s on Fox network.
Hi everyone!
I’ve been accepted to UVM and am thinking about majoring in anthropological sciences. How is the anthropology program here? I’d love to know about research opportunities, fieldwork, and the faculty.
What’s the general vibe at UVM like? How’s the campus, the community, and Burlington as a whole?
Also, I started taking ballet classes this year and would love to continue in college. Are there any decent studios near/on campus?
Thank you!!
To the guy who thought I was fumbling for my wallet at central dining 1.5 hours ago, when I actually just had a physical CatCard (I am technologically primitive), I am so sorry that you used a guest swipe on me. Please dm me so I can pay you back in some way, I had my noise-cancelling headphones on and didn't have a clue what was going on around me.
Lots of care,
Some rando pseudo-luddite
Hello! I was accepted to UVM for the HESA M.Ed. for Fall 2025 and am strongly considering coming here. I was looking at housing in the area, and the graduate housing at Catamount Run seemed like a great option.
I know it was built new for this year, does anyone currently living there have experience to share?
Who else moved on? I got an email notification today. So excited!!!
I'm a senior in hs and really struggling deciding between uvm or app. still waiting to hear about the app honors college. (update: I got in!) I'd be an international business major. some deciding factors:
i feel like i'm going back and forth every day. just curious to see how people's experiences were at each school -- did you have a good time, how was the student culture, etc. im very outdoorsy, etc. but i just don't know how to choose btw the two.
thanks!
Hi. Parent here. My daughter was accepted to UVM as an engineering major and offered Honors College. (Yes, she's very fortunate.) We visited last year and she loved the campus and the town of Burlington. In fact, UVM was her #1 choice school. Since then, however, it seems like everywhere we look we're hearing about housing problems – forced triples, a dearth of off-campus housing, commute/parking issues for upperclassmen, etc.
My question:
Is this a big enough problem that you, as a current or former student, would choose not to attend UVM?
Or is UVM a fantastic school and the housing shortage just happens to be the one thing that's bad enough to complain about? It's not like students are homeless, so what's the worst-case scenario she'd be looking at?
Thanks!
Just curious, how are folks doing finding jobs locally after graduation (either in-state or within an hour commute from downtown)? Are you finding that most seniors apply and land jobs outside of the Burlington area after graduation or are some able to find something close by?
Hey everybody- I'm currently a junior in hs who is exploring schools. I have lived in vermont my entire life and I am very connected to the area. Being a vermonter is a big part of my identity and I desire to stay in this state. I'm a very strong student and I'm considering both UVM and Middlebury, but recently the Patrick Leahy Honors College at UVM has caught my eye. I would love to have more info on that if anyone would like to reach out.
Heres a bit about me if someone would like to chance me: I moved school districts after 8th grade, going from a low ranked district to a high ranked one, so I was at an academic disadvantage when I started high school. It only really affected math, so I am in a lower level math compared to my peers. I have very impressive grades in every place other than math, with A- or higher in every other subject (my math grades usually range from B- to B+.) My cumulative gpa as a junior is currently 3.80 unweighted (because my school doesn't do weighted gpas.) I think weighted it's something like 4.2. I took the psat in October, scoring 600 on reading and writing and 480 on math. I do intend to work on this and prep for the real SAT, but I may still decide not to submit scores. I am currently in 2 AP classes, APUSH and AP Lang. I took 2 honors last year- English 10th grade Honors and History 10th grade Honors. I intend to take 3 more APs as a senior- AP Gov, AP spanish, and AP Lit. I also plan on taking 2 college courses through a program that my school offers- unsure what those courses will be as of yet. I also intend to take Latin 1 over the summer and jump into Latin 2 as a senior, so I'll have 4 years of spanish and 2 years of Latin under my belt when I graduate. All of my APs and elective courses are in the english/history vein, as that is where my passion is. I am a strong writer and I have a fierce love of words and language. Here is my list of extracurriculars:
Student council officer for 2 years
School newspaper co-founder and soon to be editor
Theatre department leader, involved in every production playing large roles and even writing & directing short skits
Internship work at a mental health nonprofit
Work on the school art magazine
National Honors Society
Volunteer work, mainly childcare for families in need
Book club and knitting club
Madrigal singers chorus
Part time summer job at smuggler's notch working with kids
I intend to also participate in poetry competitions, mock trial club, and other writing contests next year. I am well known in my community and will have very strong letters of recommendation when the time comes, as I have built close relationships with my teachers. I am unsure of my major but I know it will be something in the area of communications/humanities or history/english.
Do I have chances of making the Honors College, or should I shoot for Middlebury? I know liberal arts is where I'm more oriented, and UVM is a better fit financially and location-wise. (Plus, I know UVM offers great scholarships.) I've also considered St. Mikes but I don't know if it has the academic rigor I'm looking for.
Thanks for reading! All advice welcome. Love from a stressed out junior
Looking to transfer for Fall 2025 as a junior. Switching majors from engineering to finance. Had a rough first semester of school but have shown improvement with each semester, and will continue to in this current spring semester. College GPA of 2.85, SAT (if applicable) 1390, will have around 56 credits and looking to take more cc courses in the summer. Out-of-sate. Do I have a shot? What steps could I take to make up for a lacking GPA?
I made a spreadsheet where students can list their textbooks so others can either purchase or be given them. If you have a textbook you aren't using anymore, or need a textbook, please check it out! The more the link is shared and used the more useful the spreadsheet will be!
Freshman looking to live in Central Campus. Are there many forced triples there? Also, after looking at all the dorms on the UVM page and checking out the 360 virtual, I can see a lot of the forced triples only have two wardrobes/armoires. How does that work regarding living costs? If you're in a forced triple and the unlucky roommate that doesn't get a wardrobe, you still pay triple room prices?
I found a bike helmet, headphones, and gloves in Lafayette at the end of Fall semester. Still looking for owner. Yours? If not, perhaps someone mentioned losing these items and you could tell them about this message.
Hi, I am an upcoming freshman looking for a place to share with someone. Can anyone guide me where should I look to find someone who wants to share a place? Thank you.
i've been a little indecisive so i thought i'd turn to reddit for advice. i'm from massachusetts and currently a first year french major at mount holyoke, but i dont absolutely love the culture or size of the school. plus, tuition's a little steep, which i feel places an undue burden on my family (especially bc im getting a french degree, of all things). when i first applied to uvm in highschool, it was only slightly more expensive than going to umass. i received a generous chunk of merit aid, and my tuition was lowered because my major, international and community development, didn't exist in massachusetts (? or something like that) my stats: 3.67 college gpa (going to work on that next semester) 3.75 uw hs gpa 1340 sat two AP 5s, one 4. would it be worth it to leave mhc for uvm? would i be getting the same kind of aid as a transfer?
