Hi everyone,
I'm an UVM 2018 alumni and I have been building software for a while, mainly SaaS and Automation tool. I created Locked In not too long ago to help me block out distracting websites while I work/study, and I want to share the tool here for some feedback and support. Let me know what y'all think!
I have a resident red permit for the current semester (Fall 24) and saw that parking services announced a permit lottery for spring 2025.
Are you guaranteed a spring permit if you already have a fall permit or do you have to go through the lottery again? I'm confused because they are giving out way fewer permits for spring 25 than they did for fall 24.
Does anyone know the acceptance rate of the nursing school? Thanks!
i’m coming to uvm for the spring semester (beginning of january) as a freshman and i need somewhere to park my car. how can i get a parking pass from the school or how can i get some kind of parking pass off campus if they don’t allow me to?
I’m a sophomore in college and planning on finishing my sophomore year at my current college. After that I really want to transfer out, I’m a resident of Vermont and I’ve heard great things about uvm. I’m currently attending a art school in Mass and want to be closer to home, and uvm’s studio art program sounds great from what I’ve read and offers course my current art school dose not. I worry that I might not get in, my high school gpa is 2.8 and I never got into very outstanding classes, I took career center classes my last two years of hs/my junior year I was inducted into a honor society through that program. College has been much easier for me, my gpa as of now is 3.52. Asking now before I get my hopes up!!
4.0 /5.0 GPA. Did not submit SAT. Tutor coordinator for my highschool for NHS. Wrote my essay about book banning and the use public libraries offer as I work in a library currently (tied this into my passion for helping people). Applying early decision. I have ECE for APUSH, and I took AP psychology (got a 3 so not too much help) otherwise I take almost entirely honors classes. Applying for psychology.
Super nervous good luck other applicants!
Hi! I'm not a student at UVM, BUT I'm a French student (which probably explains my bad English so sorry, but anyway), and I'm currently writing a book (a Young Adult novel) set at UVM. I chose this university a bit randomly because I didn’t want my story to take place at an Ivy League university or in a famous city. So, I’ve done a lot of research about the university, its courses, locations, etc., but I’m missing something essential: a student from UVM who can help me confirm and refine my documentation!
Basically, if you’re a UVM student (bonus points if you’re a junior majoring in English) and would like to help me with the details of my book, I’d love it! You can reach out to me via private message to learn more about my writing project. I can share more precise information, and it would be a pleasure to chat with you. :)
Thank you so much in advance to anyone who can help—this novel means a lot to me!
Hello,
I am currently a junior student at SFSU (California), doing my Bachelors in Kinesiology.
UVM is my number 1 for DPT school. I was looking through the university web page but I wasn't able to find any means for a prospective student to connect with current students.
I am hopeful, that by posting my interest here, I will be able to connect with a current/past DPT student who is willing and able to guide me through the application process and provide mentorship.
Please reach out to me through private messaging if you are willing to guide/mentor me and we can exchange contact information to further get to know each other well!!
I would really appreciate it if you guys could share this with people you know are currently in the DPT program at UVM or have recently graduated from the program!
Thank you!!
My daughter is a freshman at UVM. She does not need a car at school, but the only way she can get back to Burlington after Thanksgiving this year is to drive. She needs to store the car for two weeks or so until she leaves for Christmas break, as cheaply as possible. She won't have time to move it from place to place during exams. Any suggestions?
I am interested in joining the ceramics co-op for the spring but it’s pretty expensive.. anyone know if it’s worth it? or anything else I should consider
TL;DR: can non-pre-med students get access to dana's after hours?
I'm not a pre med student, but I am working a pre law track starting late, so I'm also doing LSAT prep on the side. It's paper week and I'm a commuter student from 45 mins out of town each way, so I have to maximize time. The library environment has been really helpful for me getting work done. It'd be great to have late night access but I read that it's only available to pre med students or otherwise authorized people. Any idea if they make exceptions or who to ask about it?

in high school I had around a 3.2 GPA and the reasons for my GPA being slightly lower where surgeries and procedures for my condition impacting my attendance, I am currently in my first semester first year at John J college as a forensic science major but to be quite honest I’m not doing well in the course and I really want to switch my major. I already applied to UVM environmental studies for the fall term be honest what are my chances and are there any other schools in Vermont that are similar or that I should look into? I chose UVM because my family is moving up there.
Hi All,
I'm very curious to hear how everyone feels about the school, about Burlington, and about the climate. I'm from coastal Southern California and haven't spent much time in the snow aside from ski trips the last few years, though I absolutely love it. I'm wondering what positive, negative, or in-between aspects of attending UVM and living in Burlington you think I should know about before I apply. Any information at all is greatly appreciated. To let you know a bit about me first; I love nature, I love music (especially live music if there's any good spots in Burlington), I don't mind being stuck indoors, and I really don't care much about the party scene in the slightest. Hopefully you all can give me some useful info!

Hi All,
I'm currently in the middle of a gap year trying to figure out my plans for college (it's been chaotic) and I have reached the point where I believe I've found a few schools I think are cool, one of these being UVM. I want to apply to the school for biomedical engineering but I'm a bit concerned about whether or not I'll be able to get in and I want your opinions. Also, moments ago I emailed the admissions office as well. If anyone could give me their thoughts regarding whether or not they think I'll make it in, that would be very much appreciated. My high school credentials are as follows:
- 3.6 weighted GPA (3.1 unweighted)
- 4 years of English (including 1 year AP and 2 years IB)
- 4 years of math (including algebra 1 and 2, geometry, and IB math)
- 3 years of social science (including AP US gov)
- 3 years of sciences (including honors biology, chemistry, physiology, AP comp sci principles, and AP comp sci)
- 2 years of Spanish
- 3 AP scores (3 on AP Lit, 3 on AP comp sci principles, and a 4 on AP US gov)
- 29 ACT Score
I also believe its important to make note of the fact that during my first 2 years of high school, I was diagnosed with CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) which led to me missing every other day of school for the first semester of my sophomore year, and impacted me unnoticed during years prior. There is also a very clear and rapid improvement in grades between my freshman and sophomore years vs my junior and senior years.
Now, some of my concerns come from the fact that trigonometry or precalculus are required for application (though these were both covered in IB math) and physics is also required (though the comp sci courses technically counted for physics credits). Please let me know if you think that this will significantly impact my ability to apply to the school, or if you think I'll be able to work around this.
Aside from my curiosities about my own application, I'm curious what people who are affiliated with the biomedical engineering program think about it? Really just any thoughts whatsoever.
Thank you to anyone who took/takes the time to read and reply to this, it is greatly appreciated!

Trying to decide between UVM, Ohio State, and UO for a biology major and premed track. I would love to be involved in research and want supportive premed advising, ideally with a large community of other premeds. Bonus if it’s reliable snowy!
my friend who i was supposed to go with is sick & im just like too lazy to find someone else im not super invested in this as a concept. pm me if ur interested
To anyone who has taken BIOL 3105 (Community Ecology) how was it? Is it difficult? How is the professor? Did you learn anything useful? I'm a WFB major and I'm trying to plan out what classes to take my senior Fall.
Is it new to me that Howe is only open until 6 pm on Friday or are the hours listed wrong??
Lmk
This is a call to action. We used to be a community. Now I'll be lucky to find a one-star raid with other people in it. Never back down never give up! From now on we're banding together as a campus and defeating these legendary pokemon as a team. I'd better see you all out there. Peace out
I am trying to decide between these two schools to study environmental science/sustainability as an exchange student from Europe. Would appreciate hearing opinions on UVM’s program. Thanks!
I'm a senior who has put off taking a Humanities course until now, so here we are. I wanted to know if anyone has taken an easy humanities course. I genuinely do not care what subject it's in, as long as it was easy or you loved the professor! Thanks in advance!
