Hi Bennington! My partner and I will be moving to Bennington in late February. I will be working from home and I was wondering who is the best provider in the area, specially if you work from home. I'm started a new job so I want to make sure I'm ready to go as I move and I literally start working a new job right away. Much appreciated!
Curious about what Bennington is like compared to say Pittsfield MA. 45yr old mail carrier for my sites set on getting out of Hudson valley NY. Bennington popped in my head because I always have had a liking for VT but the price ranges of most of the state seem too high for me. I’m at 76k a year pay 1200 rent for 1bdrm. I know there’s a college there. Is it all college kids or is it a good mix of neighborhoodsy type atmosphere. I’d come check it out sooner if I wasn’t working so much
Does anyone know whether any of the local taxi services are willing to transport pets? I need to take my cat to the vet but don't have access to a car.
Or are there any other transportation options for something like this in the area?
Hello, I've been considering moving to Bennington, or at least the general area, as I like the smaller population areas, and wanted some advice on where to look for apartments, what areas of town to consider, and possibly some places to avoid. I was also wondering on how friendly the town is, and some context, I'm a younger lgbtq individual from western South Dakota, and I don't care for smaller living spaces.
We're a retired couple thinking of escaping the craziness that has become Easthampton MA. Ten years ago we investigated Bennington several times and now are wondering if it's still livable, or has it become dangerous like a realtor told us Brattleboro has become. Why should we or should we not move to Bennington?
I'm a student journalist and I'm currently writing a paper about Bennington College, specifically the staggering number of suicides / overdoses that have occurred on campus. If you have any insight or experiene with the college, please message me! I would appreciate it greatly :)
I was pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful wine and cheese specialty shop on North Main, a few steps from The Angry Egg 2! A wonderful selection of wines, and the shop adds a bit of needed class to the downtown! Can't wait to try the Barolo!
Watched another select board meeting and the same 2 people seem to think they run the town. Ed woods is the biggest culprit he has to make a comment about everything speaking over whoever is talking. Jeanie is the other who's position has gone to her head. Can't wait for them to get voted out. Nancy and Clark are the ONLY 2 that care about the citizens at all.
Am I the only one weirded out by Bennington College? I've never had a problem with the nutty pink haired students but today a administrator came into my wife's place of buissness and accused her of being a racist because their was a Trump sign in the place next door yard. She tried explaining to this person that it's not our property, it belongs to the place next door. God these people are nuts! You'd think they'd put their energy in a more useful place like stopping all the "accidental" deaths up there. Plus my wife just works there, she doesn't own the place. You'd think some Ivy League educated administrator would understand that.
I’m planning to visit Bennington College in the next month and wanted to scope out the rest of Bennington to see what it’s like. Are there any must go or must do before leaving places in Bennington?
If we all collectively report some of her posts for misinformation, will that get the group suspended or shut down? Or even just her would be great.
If this is Bennington community in Vermont. Please try to find my birds. I lost them in willow park VT. Please find them. The reward is 150$ for both. If you find them please put your phone number and I will call you and pick it up. I lost it on October 6th 2024
Just a bit of a rant into the ether of cyberspace after another bummer meal where you leave with a big bill and a bad meal in the stomach.
Why, oh why...can Bennington not have one consistently good place to go out and pay someone to consistently produce an above average meal?
Yes, you can pick and choose a few places that do a few things well... Byte in Hoosic (love the pizza...please open up more days). Harvest (great chimi, fantastic beer), 421... (Occasionally great specials and good cocktails ). Pangea...(Best burger in the area) But....but, where is that place you bring your partner to celebrate a birthday, gather on a holiday or for that special night out?
Union? Do you have a chef yet?, because it.seems the line cooks are doing all the work. Millers Toll.... good concept, slow service and eh..? Bistro 42? It's Sysco food slathered in sauce... Four Chimneys.. has to get it together overall... Slow and sometimes absent service and uneven food.
So, where do you folks go? Manchester? Williamstown?
Yes, I will go back and try again. 99% of the problem is the food. The servers, bartenders and employees have all been wonderful (maybe slow, but I blame the kitchen for that).
Ok, I'm done bitching and moaning.
I have Boost mobile and it barely works at all in Bennington. What phone carrier do you use that is generally reliable in the area?
Is anyone else in Kris Kings Facebook group? It’s called Bennington scanner and surrounding areas. I’m curious if any locals, who can speak freely on this site and not be censored/banned/removed from her group, feel similar to me?
In the annual “Best of Bennington County” insert there was one that won for best “something….” I only remember it had a weird name and a very interesting menu. Like, it’s a kind of take out place I think. Immigrant owners maybe? If that helps. I’m driving through tomorrow and am trying to resist the urge to go to Phil’s again. Man, his stuff is addictive.
I’m part of a University of Cambridge research project, and we’re studying how the internet is regulated—who decides what you see online and how much control you should have. Right now, we dont have any participants from Vermont. We really want to hear from all of the States. It’s really important to get some local voices included in this global study!
We just need 6 minutes of your time, and its completely anonymous. Your input could help shape future internet policies that impact us all.
Thanks so much for considering this and helping to make sure Vermont is represented!
