anyone know if tuckermans is skiable right now? Let me know. Thanks.
I’ll pay you so much money
Hey guys I’m doing the Stratton summit challenge in august. Any recommendations on a not super fancy expensive (say up to $300) hotel for the night down there ? The black bear seems to come up in searches but with mixed reviews.
Would-be first timer here. I heard that the auto road to the summit is open. Has anyone driven to the summit, parked, and skied the snowfields to the ravine? Would avoid the hike from Pinkham Notch. Thanks.
Tomorrow we are driving from Waterbury VT to Garden City NY. We are leaving Waterbury around 10AM. Leaving Garden City Wednesday around 2PM.
Where should we stop for gas, snacks and bathrooms? We want to get the drives over with quickly. So places that are easily accessible from the highway are what we are looking for.
Any tips will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the info.
It has a village and the parking lot is pretty long
I have a home in Jay with 9 beds(2 king, 2 queen, 5 twin) and a futon. We have been renting in on Airbnb for the last two years. I'm considering renting it as a seasonal home for a group, and wanted to post here in case anyone was part of a group looking, or had any suggestions.
If anyone want's to discuss or has any suggestions on where else to post please reach out. Appreciate it!
I'm looking to book a house for 4 or 5 nights in February. We have a diverse group of skill levels. So we need a mountain that can accommodate children and cautious adults that like to stick to greens. But we also have experienced skiers and riders that like to get some speed and usually hit blues and blacks. I usually spend some time with my kids and then head off with the rest of the guys. The wives and the youngest like to stick to the greens (for now) and the older kids (11 years old) really enjoyed the blues at Okemo this year when we ventured off.
For context we can ride anything at Belleayre and the Okemo blacks were not overly challenging.
I liked Okemo but the greens are all intersecting the blues and blacks and was just annoying to get around with the kids. Too flat in spots.
I was thinking Whiteface, Stratton or Killington. Any thoughts on them? What would provide varied enough skiing where we would not get bored at all levels? Not overly expensive between passes, housing and food/drink.
I'm looking to do a trip with my family to one of the bigger resorts next season and I've narrowed it down to these 2. I'm looking for something with lots of vert, good parks, decent distance, and not super pricey. I'm pretty experienced but the people I'm bringing along are only comfortable on our local's blacks (Greek Peak). I was wondering what you guys think and if you have any other suggestions.
Just wondering if there’s any notable areas other than the birthday bowls as well as any unmarked stuff with in the resort’s boundaries.
Jay stock piled a bunch of snow and covered it in hay to re open hopefully June 22 just on the moving carpet
Hey!
I'm looking to buy my own gear after years of renting. I ski in NC as I'm a student at App state. I want a durable ski that will work for the east coast conditions, can carve and also play around with jumps and parks. I'd say I'm an intermediate skiier. I'm also female, 5'6, 160.
My budget for the full set up is about $700. Right now I'm looking at the volkl revolt 86, but hesitant as to if it will be good for on-piste. I also am looking at the faction prodigy 1s.
Thanks in advance!
I recently purchased Ski Addiction tramp skis and was able to do a back flip and front flip (woo hoo). I am interested in getting into Park skiing next winter. Probably will train on trampoline and Big Snow during the off season. I'm not sure I will apply the flips to skiing but off axis rotations, grabs, etc (lower risk stuff). Curated recommended the following park skis in the picture. Wondering what skis you all recommend? I am a female, 140 lbs, 5'5", ski at Gore and Killington or wherever the discounts are 😆. I am intermediate skiier, but have a background in gymnastics.
Curious if anyone is aware of New England resorts that run scenic or bike park lifts in the summer, and don’t charge if all you do is catch the ride down, not the ride up. Thanks.
If you made a solid effort but absolutely whiffed a 3 off that kicker, I got a pretty cool action shot of you on film
I’m thinking of boot packing up Crotched tomorrow, does anyone know how much snow is left? I boot packed about a week and a half ago and there was still a bunch of snow left but a lot can change in that much time! I don’t want to waste an hour driving there for it all to be grass and mud.
Any thoughts on the Fischer Ranger 90?? I am thinking of purchasing these for the upcoming season. I normally ski groomers, but want to expand into doing more glades since I am thankfully becoming less fucking trash at skiing. Have people who owned these liked them? Or wish they would have gotten something else?
You are a real one! Was dumping (rain) up there , but there the grass skiing was hype.
Come on let's be honest most of you all are probably not gonna go anymore. So I'll gladly take any k-tickets, j-tickets or 50% off vouchers you might have laying around. Hell even sommet saint-sauver tickets would be good, I ain't picky. Let's see how good my powers of e-begging are
