I wish that didn’t seem so crazy, but we’re finally living in the right timeline.
Does Tomlin have the courage to make that move then or does he say let’s see how it plays out.
I had a great birthday weekend! Friday was my birthday, so I relaxed. Saturday my wife's family threw a party for me. And what better way to end the weekend is a Steelers W!
From all the highs and lows of yesterday, leave your final thoughts/analysis/discussion/takeaways from yesterday’s game.
This thread is intended for level-headed, mindful discussion and less knee-jerk reactions. Keep this in mind before commenting.
As always DON’T BE A DAMN JAGOFF. Follow our rules. We all have different opinions and mindsets, but we’re all here to talk Steelers and see them succeed at the end of the day. Keep it cool.
Part of me wonders if that comeback doesn't happen without the massive support the Steelers were getting from the Steelers fans in attendance. You got a sense of the presence from the Terrible Towel display after the Pickens touchdown. The you could hear Here we go Steelers in the crowd audio and MOOOOTHH after any Friermouth catch. They brought everything they could short of playing Renegade after the Williams td.
I spent a decade in DC when the Penguins and Capitals rivalry might have been at its peak. The Caps owner, Leonsis, didn't like Penguin fans taking over the arena every time they played in DC. When a playoff series rolled around, he came up with the brilliant idea of blocking 412 area codes from buying tickets.
First game in DC, the arena is full of rabid Penguin fans who managed to get tickets and were angry over the tactic. The problem was the DC metro is full of Pittsburghers who never get to see the teams except for when they get to DC or Baltimore. We could probably sell some of those venues out with our local support.
I will say respect to any Steeler fan who went to that game just for making the trek to Landover and I'm sure parking is no better. I'd rather drive from Northern Virginia to Pittsburgh than Landover.
He was playing against Dan Quinn and Bobby Wagner, two people who deeply know his weaknesses and flaws as a QB and he still found a way to win.
I see at most 1 loss the rest of the season to probably Ravens or Bengals.
Realistically felt like 40% of the stadium was wearing black and gold. I thought my Kimo von Oelhoffen jersey was most obscure but the guy in a Yancey Thigpen jersey might have me beat. Great win!
Both catches were amazing. But which was more impressive to you, Pickens' acrobatic catch early in the game or Williams' first (moon ball) catch as a Steeler that was the game winner?
Halftime adjustment merchants? PIT D is allowing teams to score an average of 6.1 points in the second half of games. Electric to watch.
Full breakdown per quarter through 9:
I legit thought this was how our season was going to go, buddy was spot on with all of his predictions, until now! This team is special, no doubt but I did not expect a win against Washington. Just had a feeling but it my t have been gas. 😂
Go Steelers!!!!!! ❤️
This is clearly holding, which the Ref completely missed. Credit T.J. with what should have been a game changing safety. Very glad that we still got the W.
When Highsmith stepped on that foot and rolled his ankle, well it looked bad. I’m hoping it’s something minor but we have all seen ankle sprains linger for a long time and let’s not even contemplate the alternative.
What's up people, Steelers fan from the UK and I will be coming to Pitt for that tasty Ravens game. Been looking forward to this for months and just watched the Commanders game highlights. Good stuff, absolute cinema. I am still very new to the sport, often having 0 clue but I am keen to get stuck in. Any recommendations before I had over? Is there a Pittsburgh beer or merchandise I can get? Also would love to know where I can get that black and yellow jersey. My apologies for being a complete newbie but I would love to get stuck in
First of all what a performance today by the black and gold. Every time the camera panned out it I had to do a double take just to make sure we weren’t at home. Over the last few years since Big Ben retired the Steelers just haven’t felt the same to me, until now. Russel has brought that spark to the team. He is undoubtedly the missing piece that is making all the pieces fall into place. His attitude to overcome adversity makes him a true Pittsburgher and I’m so happy he’s our QB1.
Steelers playoff chances improved greatly this week...
Bengals lost: 4-6 record. Just need to split with the Bengals
Texans unbelievably lost: 6-4 (fell asleep at halftime, checked the score and physically guffawed).
Broncos some how lost: 5-5 Steelers own the tiebreaker
Colts lost: 4-6 Colts have the tiebreaker
Chargers won: 6-3, Steelers own the tiebreaker.
Next week two games to keep our eyes on - Bengals vs Chargers, Chiefs vs Bills
Did I miss anything?
what if the refs gave the commanders the 1st down?....was a very close play but refs said no first down...if refs said first down Steelers fans would've blamed the refs or said bad call...I'm a Steelers fan to...what's your opinion on that play?....if commanders get the first we might've lost
Yall look good. This was a really fun game (and I think we both can agree officiating was pure shit on both sides). as a neutral football fan, it’s great to see Chef Russ is starting to pick up his footing again (and prove that Hackett was the problem). How about this? You beat our Maryland neighbors the Ratbirds, and we’ll beat your less successful cousins from Philly in the Shitbirds? Do we have a deal?
Just a fun stat I came across after the game. Not hugely meaningful, but not settling for FGs does seem like a promising sign for the red zone execution going forward
