How to become a MedTech?

Hi everyone -

I have a BS in Biology, an MS in Immunology and 8 years of lab practice. I am looking to switch my career path from bench lab work (BioPharma companies) to a MLT, but am not having much luck on Google in finding the process of doing so. I think I have enough experience in just my immunology labs, but am unsure if I can just take a test and become certified? Are there accelerated programs for such a career? Many thanks in advance for your input!

In Desperate Search of Software for my Medical Robot Arm (CRS ActiveRobot)

Hi! I'm a young guy attempting to teach himself robotics. I've been scrounging the internet bugging random strangers in my quest to find the CRS ActiveRobot software for running my CataLyst Express robot arm. If you happen to know anyone who works with one of these arms, I'm happy to pay for a copy of the software. I'd appreciate any suggestions that ya'll may have on where I might continue looking. Thanks!

Tips on how to maximize the remaining 5 months to review with the goal of topping the August MTLE

Hello po! So, I'm aiming to be one of the topnotchers in this year's August MTLE as the title suggests. I have good foundation naman po sa board subjects, nag books din ako nung 3rd yr and I think I'm good naman pagdating sa concepts.

Ito yung mga plano ko to ace MTLE:

  1. Read books (per subject) and focus on 1 Rc materials (Acts)
  2. No books since may foundation na ako sa concepts. Then, two Rc materials (Lemar and Acts)
  3. Books, Rc materials (Lemar and Acts)

Which one do you think is the best option considering the fact that I only have 5 months left to review for the boards?

Any suggestions or tips, I would highly appreciate and cherish it from the bottom of my heart 🤩😍

Rec pediatric monitor

Looking for a kid friendly HR/EKG watch. Possibly BP too but I don’t want to break the bank. Is there a way to get it covered by insurance?

I know the FitBit is decent but requires you to stay still and participate in it by putting your finger on the watch for the EKG function. That’s just going to be really tough for my 4 year old I think.

She’s on a heart monitor at the moment and we’re about to turn it back in for data and I’m getting a little nervous about how to reliably track HR after that, and I would like the other functions and be able to get alerts in real time on my phone.

Plan to ask her cardio but thought I’d ask here first. For reference she has electrical LVH not sure yet if there is anything else going on. History of SCD in children in family.

Yes I know they aren’t technically medical devices but I’m just curious what options are out there otc or if we should just get something from insurance? Again, she is 4 so it should be kid friendly, comfortable and cute to get compliance.

Choosing Health Data System: EHR vs EMR vs PHR

The following guide explores Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Electronic Health Records (EHR), and Personal Health Records (PHR) as different types of systems used for managing patient data, as well as how choosing between them depends on the specific needs of healthcare providers and patients: Choosing Your Health IT: EHR vs EMR vs PHR

  • EMRs are best suited for individual departments or practices looking to digitize patient records for internal use.
  • EHRs are ideal for healthcare organizations requiring comprehensive patient medical records that are accessible across multiple departments or care settings.
  • PHRs are geared towards patients who want to actively participate in their healthcare management, tracking conditions, test results, and treatments over time.

Help a MedTech startup and maybe win 50$

Hi all, I work for a MedTech startup called Blinkaid, we're working on an easy, non-invasive solution to dry eyes - typically caused by extended screen usage, so I figured this might be relevant for the group on that level as well. It's basically a pair of glasses with electrodes in the nose pads, which pass a small and painless current to the muscles around your eye, which makes you blink. we already have semi-working prototypes and pretty significant funding. What we really need is input from sufferers to tailor the product to our user's needs. If you have 2 minutes to fill out this simple form about your experience with dry eyes, you could help us create the best solution for dry eye sufferers.
