Are these macros for recomping correct?

I'm trying to work out macros for body recomping, but I feel like I've miscalculated somewhere. Only out my measurements and BFP up as I don't know if it matters or not.

BFP - 28.9% BF to lose - 10kg - 18.3

What is my diet?

I genuinely have no clue. I eat all of my calories in one meal, I call it “Big Lunches.” I mean it like all 2000 in a single meal. But then I don’t eat until the next day. So on and so on. I’ve been losing weight fairly consistently so I guess it’s working.

Any tips for dieting as an autistic with sensory issues?

So, I got bloodwork done recently, and it came back high in triglycerides, cholesterol, and LDL (bad cholesterol). I know in order to have the levels become normal again I have to eat healthier and exercise. However, there’s a problem:

I’m autistic. I have sensory issues with a lot of vegetables; it can be the smell, texture, taste, or something else that bothers me. I have a really hard time eating them because of this and I don’t know what I have to do in order to be able to eat them! Are there any substitutions that can be put in place of vegetables to put my levels back in check? I know fruit is an option, but I can’t eat only fruit because of the sugars in them.

I also want to ask how important exercise is to keeping the levels in check. I’m extremely… well, un-athletic. I don’t mind taking walks and other non-intensive exercises, but running and other cardio exercises exhaust me quickly. It leaves me hot and sweaty, and the heat is extremely uncomfortable. I’ve always been a warm person.. Are there any laid-back exercises that could help me with this?

I can’t take any medication because I’m too young, and I already take over 5 pills a day for various mental health reasons. I worry that if I were to incorporate more pills and medicine into myself, it would cause adverse affects. Like how they say on TV that taking certain medications may lead to liver failure, heart disease, etc.

Also, if it’s relevant to determining the answer: I am 15 years old, born female, 5’1” (~155 cm), and ~160 lbs (~72.6 kg).

Point Me In the Right Direction of A Low Fat Diet?

My husband is going through some medical stuff & just met with a GI specialist. Long story short, while they are running tests over the next few months she recommended trying out a low fat diet with little processed foods to help with his liver.

I do all the cooking at home (I love to cook) and want to do everything I can to make this easier for him but unfortunately he’s super picky. He is stubborn and doesn’t really want to make any substantial changes to his diet that involve eating something he just plain doesn’t like (broccoli, green beans, ect.) even if it will help him feel better.

Unfortunately the office didn’t send him with any guidelines for meals that are low fat/liver healthy.

Does anybody have any recommended websites or cookbooks that I can start with that focus on lower fat for picky eaters? I just want to help him in any way I can

Is Dr. Mercola's book Fat for Fuel any good?

Got this book as a gift. I've read praise for it but Mercola seems to be a very questionable figure. Are there any great books that cover similar ideas by less dubious authors? I would be interested in getting a grasp of what he calls mitochondrial metabolic therapy. I'm completely new to these topics. Or am I good to go with this book?

High protein dessert recipe

Crushed cookies ( I used maryland )

one scoop of protein powder and maybe 2 depending on amount

thats it! it’s high in protein and it’s a nice dessert to treat yourself! Remember a nice treat once in a while won’t hurt you just make sure it’s a cheat meal not a cheat day or week (: have a great day and please tell me if you like this or not! I personally really like it

also sugar and fats are needed in your body just don’t consume too much!

Healthy sweet snack alternatives?

I’ve got a pretty bad sweet tooth, I don’t drink soda or eat much chocolate but gummies and pastries/baked goods are my kryptonite.

Do you guys have any healthy sweets that you’d recommend?

Thinking About Trying a Detox—Does It Really Work?

Hey everyone, 👋

So, I came across this article the other day about detoxing and whether it’s actually good for your body. It got me thinking because I’ve been considering doing a detox or cleanse myself. I mean, they sound great—flush out toxins, feel refreshed, maybe even lose a little weight. But after reading this article, I’m not so sure anymore. 🤔

The article explains how detox diets might not work the way we think they do and talks about what your body actually needs to stay healthy. It’s got me questioning if all those “detox teas” and juice cleanses are even worth it.

What do you all think? Have you ever tried a detox? Did it work for you? Or do you think it’s just marketing hype?

Here’s the article if you’re curious to check it out: https://mynutriani.wixsite.com/nutriani/post/detoxing-or-cleansing-myth-or-magic

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts—maybe we can figure this detox thing out together! 😊

Too much munching

For me, I’ve realised, when I’m at home, I eat like every 2 hours whereas if I’m in office the meals are very much sorted (breakfast, lunch, coffee, snacks and dinner).

Is it just a mental block? Does it happen to anyone else well? How do I control the urge to eat??

P.S I’m 8 kgs more from my BMI limit.

Looking for better food options at work

So I am trying to find meals to fill me/ satisfy me at work. I'm a lobster fisherman during the winter months and for 6 months of the year I spend 13-16 hours a day on a boat with no way of cooking or heating food. Aside from needing to probably exercise more which I have almost no energy to want to do cardio afterwards. My large appetite is starting to catch up to me and am getting soggy around the mid section. All I basically eat at work is multiple sandwiches and processed meat. The job can be physically demanding so I want to make sure I'm eating enough to feel full throughout the day but not groggy like I usually am after eating 2 or 3 sandwiches. Thanks in advance for the insight.

How many calories should I eat?

Hey any help is really appreciated, I’m a 15 year old boy and 166.5 cm tall and 49.6kg my height growth has been a little bit delayed / stunted as I have seen a doctor and it is below expected for my genetic target, I eat around 1900-2000 calories a day and take multivitamins, I don’t exercise much/ at all maybe except for going gym 1-2 times a week and walking about 7km a day total. Would it be a possibility that I need more calories to grow and my potential lack of calories is causing stunted growth? Thanks so much 🙏🙏

General tips for eating healthier?

Recently, a family member’s health scare has made me think a lot more about taking care of myself, especially my body. I'm still young at 27yo, but nutrition isn’t something I’ve focused on much, and while I don’t eat particularly unhealthily, I know there’s room for improvement. There’s so much conflicting information out there (such as “microwave food is satan”) that it can be hard to figure out what’s actually helpful.

Currently, I take Vitamin D & K supplements for S.A.D., and turmeric for general joint pain. My partner and I usually eat a mix of meal kits (like curry kits with Quorn since she’s vegetarian, served with rice), oven meals like pizza, air-fried foods such as battered fish fillets and chips(I'm a pescatarian), and microwave meals like curries or lentils/pulses. I rarely do any “proper” cooking, if that makes sense.

In terms of calories, I aim to stay under 2,000kcal a day, as I’m trying to lose a bit of weight.

I'd really appreciate any tips to live by that should generally improve my nutrition and health. Thanks in advance!

Should I be expecting a "Crash" with my new eating style?

For about a month I have been on a 16/8 fast diet while limiting myself to low carb 800cal a day, always under and closer to 700 (except Thanksgiving, obviously)

I have been averaging about 5000 steps a day. I work from home and was averaging 700 steps a day.

Ive lost 23lbs in about the same amount of time and it has been so much easier and smoother than expected. I also feel amazing, have more energy and I am not tired at all.

The question is "Should I be expecting a sort of crash or anything like that, or did I escape that window?"

Ruined my metabolism

Around a year back, i lost around 30kgs (66lbs) in a span of 6 less than six months by having just a single meal a day and my total calories added around 1200 a day maximum. since then, i went back to my regular lifestyle without too many food restrictions, eating like a regular person, i’ve ended up gaining 3-4kgs back though it doesn’t reflect on me as such. I’m trying to lose weight again now, cut down to 1400 calories a day, nothing seems to be happening. Have i brought down my maintenance calories so low that even 1400 isn’t a calorie deficit now? how do i fix this for me i’m afraid i won’t ever be able to lose weight.

Doesn't the Biblical advice of not eating meat and drinking milk at the same time actually make sense scientifically? Meat (especially red meat) contains heme iron and milk contains omega-6 acids. Omega-6 acids increase the effects of heme iron of causing colon cancer.

The Old Testament of the Bible contains a lot of advice about nutrition. Of course, most of them are nonsense, but doesn't the advice that one shouldn't drink milk and eat meat at the same time make sense when considering modern science? As far as I understand it, it does.

Think of it this way: meat (especially red meat) contains heme iron, and milk contains omega-6 acids. And omega-6 acids increase the effects of heme iron of causing colon cancer. That's why processed meat causes cancer more often than unprocessed meat: processed meat contains significantly more omega-6 acids.

I was wondering what you thought about that. Not that it would change anything about the way I eat, as I am a vegetarian.

Should you really be trying to eat 1g of protein per pound of body weight when trying to lose weight?

I've seen this a lot over the past few months when I've been on my weight loss journey, but is this still the case if your weight is very high?

My brother recently started training with me to lose weight and I mentioned this to him, but he's currently around 300lbs. And the more I think about it, 300g of protein per day seems like a lot. I'm around 250lbs rn, and maybe the most protein I eat is like 200g (I don't pay attention to protein intake), but even that seems like a lot to me.

I could be just thinking of this completely wrong, but it just sounds counterproductive for weight loss.

If we should really start doing this, do you have any tips on reaching 300g of protein each day? I'm not even sure where to start lmao

Reasons to lose weight, good AND bad!

I recently came up with reasons to lose weight, both good and bad, and then come up with common aspects of each set of reasons, and common core aspects/themes that apply to both good AND bad reasons. Finally I came up with one final take-away conclusion: That obesity is a prison. I do not want to be in prison. No therapist I've ever had, nor any person I have ever talked to, has straight up said "weight loss is a prison". But now that I see it that way... maybe I'll have better luck. This is the biggest motivation I have ever had to lose weight, and I will try to keep everyone updated on my progress, if there is any, even if I just maintain, as I have gained 9lb in the last 3 months(ouch).

Here is the document(it's a bit of an eyesore because it's so long, formatting tips welcome):
