I AM TIRED and DONE

20F I had a previous post up here about changing my diet because my doctor says that I have high cholesterol and I’m pre-diabetic. I have been trying to limit what I eat by taking small portions but I always end up hungry because it doesn’t fill me up. But after a couple of days of trying I am done. I told my doctor that wheat irritates my stomach and I took a test for gluten intolerance and it came back negative but recently it has been everything, I can’t eat anything sugary in the morning because it will irritate my stomach and this morning I decided to just try a Premier protein shake and now I feel uncomfortable and like I want to throw up. Everything I try to do irritates my stomach and it makes a gurgling noise. It’s embarrassing, especially since I’m always around people because of school and public transportation. It’s not just that too, I have terrible periods, I bleed a lot of days and my stomach hurts and it makes it impossible to walk when I am on my period. I was giving birth control, last month and it was a nightmare because when I finally got my period I was in pain for 3 days straight and no meds worked.

I don’t even know what to do anymore. Like what do I do???

Question about carnivore diet, strict carnivore vs just carnivore heavy anything diet

Jerky makes life good, carnivore question (as a non strict carnivore)

Hey,

Im not a strict carnivore yet, im making this post because i love beef jerky jack link's especially, and everytime i ate multiple packages like 200-300g of beef jerky in total, that 0,44-0,66lb of beef jerky, i noticed that day and the one after it i was super energetic, high mental energy and better mood.

So that leads me to make decision of eating more beef, jerky, and other super nutritious foods that I think might also help like salmo roe or eggs, i will eventually make my own jerky to reduce sodium because it gets excessive with the jerky.

My question is

Why does that happen ? I normally have an okay diet I also supplement a little bit of everything, i eat mostly chicken and avocados rice and sweet potatoes and stuff like that and fruit so I'm generally alright, but when I eat jerky alot of it, its a temporary game changer for me. Alot of meat makes me kill it, life is alot better on those days, I definitely feel alot different very quickly, when i consume that much jerky, translated to about a kilogram of red meat if it wasn't jerky.

I don't restrict myself to other food but from your personal experience im curious, heavy carnivore but also free to eat other healthy stuff like bananas etc, vs heavy carnivore only, strict carnivore and no fruits veggies rice potatoes none of that, what difference did you notice ? Benefits of being really strict, versus also allowing other things but still eating huge amount of carnivore food. In any case alot of red meat seems to do something so im curious fundamentally why that might happens, is a normal "healthy" diet just not enough ? Are some of us just meant to eat alot of red meat ?

I'm not feeling specifically bad when I eat normal like usual, i feel alright, but the jerky is a big contrast, im so much better with that diet those days. I will definitely try to add steaks if they do similar and if it helps aswell. My girlfriend definitely notices my energy aswell.

I want to know what you think and what you know, i will make a 10 days in a row jerky & carnivore heavy experiment and return if I learn anything more, never tried to do this like this in row, so will see if the enegy and mental effects lasts, im also less anxious i gotta admit so hopefully it lasts.

What's even crazier actually, is that I ate jerky alot some days when i used to be sober last year, aswell as currently im addicted to kratom which probably tanks testosterone alot long term, i know that. But even when i take kratom, jerky seems to just undo so much of that low testosterone feeling, it was great when i was sober and its also great now, i haven't done any blood tests so I don't know, but red meat seems to be magical.

I need to gain weight, but I have really bad ADHD that makes it hard to eat enough to do that. Any recommendations for a supplement or something that can help?

I'm a trans woman, trying to gain weight for fat redistribution purposes but I always forget to eat for most of the day and my meds don't help since they seem to suppress my appetite. I the only time I eat an amount that I would call large is when I'm high and I only do that on the weekends (if I could have the munchies without any of the other effects of caniboids that would be great...)

Does anyone have a way to help with this? Either something that can help increase my appetite enough that I don't forget to eat, or something that can supplement my diet that's easy to consume.

I've tried things like carb and protein powder supplements and while those definitely increase the amount I was intaking, it still took a lot of effort to prepare them for consumption which ended up being just as hard to remember as just getting food, and a lot less pleasant since they didn't taste good. So the habit wasn't easy to form. (If ony food came in pill form.)

My body really needs carbs and protein. I just can't figure out how to get it.

Diet like WW?

Hi all. In the past I tried calorie counting and macros and both led to ED. I think it was the everything has a number mentality. So my Dr suggested WeightWatchers, the zero point foods get me. Lean meat like steak and bison are zero points unlimited. Same with eggs, chicken, potatoes veg, fruit etc. This I don’t think will work for me. I need to do something.

I tried asking for help in WW form and the response was “trust the system”

Edited to change WW to WeightWatchers

How long does it actually take to see any improvement?

For reference, I'm 14 and 170 pounds. I'm not exactly "fat," just insecure, like most 14 year olds. I barely eat and when I do I try to eat 100 calories or less at a time, any more and I just can't eat it. I eat maybe 400 calories per day and I feel fine most of the time. How long do I have to keep this up?

Eating so much protein is emotionally and physically hard for me

A little about me, I’m a 28 year-old female and my BMI is very average. I have 23% body fat. I do not have much muscles and it makes me look skinny fat. I have no optical muscles even when I flex. I have quite a bit of belly rolls.

All my life, I thought calorie deficit and a bunch of cardio will make me look like a model. However, I realized that I just need to work on building more muscles to look lean and fit. I only started appreciating more protein intake and weightlifting last year. But I was still scared of eating a lot of protein and that leading to eating more calories.

Today was my first day of dedicating to eating at least 100g of protein per day (I weigh 116lbs) on top of lifting heavier than ever. In fact, I reached the protein intake of 110+ grams today. My dishes consisted of whole foods and clean diet. It was lean beef, shrimp, eggs, tofu, and protein shake.

However, I feel SO FAT. My stomach has been the biggest ever after having dinner. Eating so much protein than ever itself was so overwhelming for me. I feel so full it’s uncomfortable. I just don’t get how this is going to help me look lean and fit. I feel like I’m doing something wrong. This does not feel right. I do not have body dysmorphia (thankfully) so I’m just writing the fact and what I’m seeing and feeling.

Am i doing something wrong?

Americans, share with a Ukrainian nutritionist how you eat! And if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to help with some advice.

Hey everyone in America!

I'm a nutritionist from Ukraine with 9 years of experience. Before russia attacked us, 60% of my Instagram followers (which had 330,000 people) were from russia. Of course, after the invasion, I stopped working with them, and now I’d love to try working with Americans.

First of all, I want to say thank you to every single American. The money your country used to help us came from your taxes. Honestly, without your support, I might not even be alive today, and that’s not an exaggeration. Now that your government has paused aid to Ukraine, I know some Ukrainians are expressing frustration toward the U.S., but please try to understand them. We're scared. Even those living far from the frontlines can die from missile attacks. So, sometimes, instead of thinking about all the help you've already given us, people just focus on what we still need to survive.

Now, let’s get to business. I'd really appreciate it if you could share how you eat throughout the day and week—since many people’s diets change on weekends and tend to be more calorie-heavy. And to make sure I don’t waste your time, feel free to ask me any questions about nutrition and weight loss, since that’s my main focus.

And one more thing—I have a question for you. Would you consider working with a Ukrainian nutritionist online to lose weight? Or do you have any concerns or hesitations about working with someone from Ukraine?

Thanks for your time, and I wish you and your loved ones all the best!

Would anyone be willing to put together a meal plan for me?

Stats below:

Age: 30 Gender: Female Height: 5’6.5 Weight: 153 Goal: Maintain weight/Muscle Definition

Hi all,

I workout 5/6 times a week alternating between Pilates, gym, and spin class. I want to maintain my weight and not gain, as well as see more muscle definition. Would anyone be willing to put together a meal plan for me? As well as timing of the meals? I assume I need around 2100/2200 calories, but will leave that up to you…

I live alone and have an office job (work from home 2 days a week) so would have to be easy quick meals.

Curious about crazy weight gain after cheat day

16m 6'4. I am no stranger to dieting, ive lost 80 lbs, gained 40, now trying to slim down for track season. I've been intermittent fasting for 2 and a half ish weeks. I started at about 205, two mornings ago i weighed in at 188.4. I woke up yesterday morning, had light breakfast, and stepped on the scale to see 197. That is absolutely absurd to me because i probably only ate 3000 over my maintenance at the absolute most. It’s now 2 days from them, I did a long fasted track workout, came home and didn’t eat more than 1500 calories, and I’m still sitting at 196. I’m not worried about the weight because I know it’ll come off again, but how is this even possible??? Thanks

Update: after doing some research (I’m new to intermittent fasting) it seems like replenishing your glycogen levels so quickly makes you massively retain water, as well as all the sodium I ate. I’m not at all discouraged, just wondering how I can avoid this in the future. Let me know if you have any differing thoughts

Overcoming a very hard plateau

For context -Male 5’10” -Dropped 78lbs over 1 year -Weight training and cardio 5 days/week -Work a laborious job with lots of walking -Started diet at 2000 cals p/day -ended diet at 1500 cals p/day

So as stated above. I lost 78lbs over the course of a year. I ended my diet after hitting a 2 month long plateau at 1500 cals/day.

I moved my daily intake to 2400-2600 cals/day and my weight has stayed the exact same for the last 2.5 months. So clearly my maintenance is around 2.4-2.6k cals.

Not sure what my body fat percentage is but I have a visible 4 pack with the lower abdominal region is covered in a small pouch of fat, although you can see a soft outline.

I really want to lose this last bit of fat but there’s no way I can eat less than 1500 cals/day and I’m already doing plenty of cardio and resistance training.

My protein intake is usually around 200grams carbs are 220 grams and fat is at 80 grams

I drink a ton of water by the way.

I’m currently 170lbs.

What can you all suggest to break this plateau?

Can’t understand what I’m doing wrong?

Hi! I’ve been trying to lose 10 pounds for the last few months and failing (currently 5’3 and 154 and trying to get down to around 144). I generally have a really good diet, and maybe cheat on a Friday night date with my boyfriend. I try to move my body everyday but that can be tough with a 9-5 office job. Here’s what I eat in a day where I’m totally locked in. Thoughts? Was there anything you ate when trying to lose weight that helped? Anything that I should cut out?

Breakfast Smoothie: 2 cups frozen berries 1/2 frozen banana 1 tsp chia seeds 1 tsp lions mane 1 tsp cacao chips 1 serving protein powder (20g) 1 hand full of spinach

2 shots of espresso 1/2 serving of oat milk 2 tsp of sugar

Lunch Tuna salad, no bread 1 can tuna 2 servings of mayo 1 serving of mustard A little sriracha (usually don’t measure this tbh)

Dinner Varies by day but usually protein, veggies and sometimes a starch. Ex: 1 serving of shrimp (usually 18-20g protein) cooked in olive oil with different seasonings 1 serving of broccoli 1/3 of jasmine rice Served with sweet chili sauce (I don’t measure this)

Dessert: Halo top, a Yaso bar, or sometimes I’ll bake cookies from scratch and have 1-2 of those.

Is eating irregularly (sometimes healthier, sometimes worse, sometimes more, sometimes less...) a bad thing? If so, how bad? Or if it depends, when is it a bad thing?

I don't count calories so I have no idea how far from the norm/requirement the calories are. I love eating some kinds of food. Not sweets, not stuff like that, but like meat for example. So much in fact that I'd eat a lot of it at once. And often I'm in charge of what food I eat (like I cook for myself). That's why when I make warm food like after school then I tend to eat till I'm really full. I also fear putting on too much weight (I'm neither skinny nor fat but with my eating habits that's kinda in the back of my head cuz I'd certainly overeat a lot otherwise) so I actually try not to eat too much during the day by reducing the other meals, often making it one big meal per day, sometimes with a small one in the morning. But that's not every day. That's maybe 60% of the days? So it's not super regular. Now that I'm writing this, I should probably start counting calories... Not to try to reduce the count or anything but just for the data.

Calories being shown on meat packaging are based on having been “pan fried”

Does anyone else find it frustrating that lots of packaging for meat shows the calories for the food based on what it is after it has been “pan fried”. Surely they are adding calories for any potential oil used when frying the food? I don’t often “pan fry” food so it is very frustrating when trying to work out my calorie intake accurately! It is probably only a minor amount, but every little helps!

Lost Weight - Less food intake -> Constipation

43 M - 5'11", 195lbs, less than 20% body fat. Around August after being unable to lose weight forever I suspected my cortisol levels were high and under the direction of the doctor I started some supplements to manage and the weight came pouring off. At that time I was around 230 lbs.

As a side effect the quantity of food I eat is much less and seems to have lead to constipation. I've had this happen in the past as well when reducing intake but it was only for a day or two.

Morning meal - 4 muffin tins of baked egg whites, broccoli and cheese

Lunch 4 days a week - 40oz of salad consisting of dark green leaf mix, half a bag of matchbox carrot sticks, half a bell pepper, broccoli, half a cucumber, 2 sticks of celery, feta cheese, sunflower kernels and 150g chicken.

Dinner - usually 50g of protein, usually via 150g chicken and some vegetable.

The weight loss has been amazing and lower cortisol has lead to much less need for snacking but as a side effect I've become constipated. I'm working with the doctor who recommended some magnesium to see if that helps. I'm wondering if I'm eating too little or too much fiber.

In the past adding metamucil has made things worse. I usually drink between 96 and 128oz of water and exercise for 45+ minutes a day 4-5 days a week.

Prior to the weight loss for about 15 years I'd use 2 cups of coffee to manage this but its no longer working. It has been like clockwork for 15 years. I'm wondering what my diet is missing or has that could be leading to this.

Do people eat bread for multiple meals?

I am not on any specific diet, I want to heal my relationship with food and learn to enjoy it more, also by gaining some weight and learning to accept it on me.

But bread is so demonized these days and I feel bad—is white bread really that bad? Will it really make me fat? I sometimes do not know what to make for a meal and I end up having 2 sandwiches out of white bread in one day, it really makes me overthink my choices so I want to know if non disordered people and people who eat without any restrictive rules eat bread more than one time daily

EDIT: if you're going to say "eww no that is so unhealthy!" then please just don't comment anything😞

I want to gain weight

I'm a 16y old male and I only weight 48kg. Im going to the gym soon (I've done this before), probably 5 times a week. I always was a bit underwheight, I don't know if that's because I eat too little food, but I eat just until I'm satisfied. I would like to know some foods with a high caloric value (I think that's what makes you gain weight, correct me if I'm wrong) not too expensive, difficult to find or to prepare.

What are some good workout gym routines for newbies

Hello! I’d like to gradually start doing weights and I’m wondering if there is a YouTube workout influencer or whatever who has good routines for people who are starting to do weights.

I know I could just look it up but I’m wondering if someone has done one that worked for you? Extra points if it’s for shy people

I’m a girl by the way

Dorm student looking for healthier options

20 y/o F dorm student here. I want to eat healthier, but I'm not sure how. I eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables, mainly carrots and oranges, and also cashews. But I also eat LOTS of fast food; I can't have much more than hummus or cereal here in my dorm, unless I buy something premade like at a fast food resturant, as I don't have a stove nor large microwave container. Hot pots aren't allowed according to my RA. I have half of a mini fridge and that's it, so I don't have much room for materials anyways. Any ideas for simple healthier meals? I'm not saying money is no problem so don't reccomend something ridiculous but I can definitely spend a decent amount on food. Also keep in mind I just feed myself so getting sour cream for example would probably be a waste because I wouldn't use it before the expiration date nor would it be appropriate for my tiny fridge.

cabbage soup diet??

this cabbage soup diet thing has been coming up on my fyp so much lately, but what i don't understand is that if you only eat soup for 7 days wouldn't you just be star*ing yourself? im confused on how that's a diet that people are promoting. it's like telling someone to only drink water for a week, i mean..yeah you'd lose weight but you'd probably gain it back in a day

Is the low carb diet a good choice for me??

I've(F, 20) been trying to do a low carb diet for a week now and all it's done is make me feel constantly weak, unfocused, poorly coordinated, and on the verge of tears at every minor inconvenience

I know this is generally normal for starting a low carb diet but I don't know if it is to this extreme, I'd like to add that though I don't know if I have diabetes I do very frequently have my blood sugar drop and this diet has made it worse.
