Does Sleepytime Extra contain enough valerian root to have an effect?

I've read they recommend 300 mg for anxiety or insomnia, yet the tea only contains 25 mg. Would you even notice an effect at that low dosage?

What are some skin inflammation reduction methods?

Hi, my dad is suffering from a bad skin condition that makes his skin inflamed and itchy (due to his kidney disease). Are there any methods you guys use or know of that can help sooth his inflammation. I was thinking stuff like putting essential oils in the bath.

Immune system kicking as$ and taking names

I’ve been sick with a nasty virus/cold since Saturday morning. By that afternoon I was running a 102 fever and coughing with major sinus congestion, I snuggled up in a blanket and laid up the next few days until this morning. I kept tabs on my fever and it never got over 102 or I would have had to take something. I let my body do its thing and woke up this morning 95% better and only have a tiny bit of congestion with zero coughing. Let your immune systems work for you and let your body handle them viruses! My family member who gave me this virus is still sick as a dog and she’s had it two days longer than me. She is the same age as me and is healthier than I am. (Im a smoker)

She’s been to the doctor and has been on steroids and received a shot. She’s struggling and I’m making her soup till she gets better ❤️

It’s different for everyone this is just my experience

Want to take natural alternatives to Adderall? Which one looks the best?

I have inattentive ADHD, so I have trouble planning and getting the tasks at hand done on time, and then l end up staying late. I want to look into more natural alternatives; I don't like how my meds are making me feel. But I have heard good things about herbal alternatives and magnesium. Which one looks promising for my symptoms?

Do you know, the United States is one of the few countries that do not deworm their people?

Word vomit incoming!

Parasites range from visible to so tiny we can barely see them under the strongest microscopes. The United States is in an epidemic of parasites and no one is talking about it because the pharmaceutical companies are rolling in the dough off of it. Ever wonder why the “Auto Immune Diseases “ have skyrocketed and MS, lupus, chrons disease, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and a TON more like dementia. Yea dementia is supposedly caused from lack of sleep, genetics blah blah but did you know parasites especially amoebas cause lesions in the brain that hasten the diagnosis. MS is a huge one with lesions, also many MANY cancers are caused from your bodies own immune response going awol against itself from, you guessed it, parasites! Parasites hide behind and disguise as your bodies natural cells counterparts and blend in while slowly intoxicating your entire system with ammonia which causes Brain fog, Energy loss, tiredness, red eye is another big one because your liver is struggling to clean the blood so your vision gets cloudy or “snowy” and so and so on. I just wanted to let you know what I feel is a lot of our problems. Pharma making bank off us sick and dying and they’re definitely not trying to cure or fix the problems. Doctors hope you get sick and pharma wants you to stay sick. I’ve read soo many different things over the years on this and everything always points to one common denominator “parasites” Research on my friends! There are a lot of research articles and panels about this I can find and post later on here t o this if anyone is curious.

Ps. I know my typing is terrible leave me alone I’m having a brain fart

Wormer for everyone! But not just like that make sure to do do it right and prepare so do your research and message me if you are interested in anything I said. I have a lot more useless knowledge that may not be that useless to some.

to think it's strong to be numb weak to feel pain

Feel the pain

I can run but can't hide, or I can hide but can't run away

It's here

The anger and fear, the fight and flight. The numbness and dissociation, the freeze of the after effects. It's all valid.

The freeze is the most painful, not feeling any pain but all the energy went to suppress the pain

Not flowing, just a walking zombie.

No wonder I like pain, it's good to feel pain.

I used to think it's strong to be numb weak to feel pain now I fuken know it's the opposite

Shaking, nausea, high bp, fast heart?

Hi!

In the evenings I sometimes experience (out of nowhere) shaking (as if I have a fever, except no fever!) and feeling ‘cold’ (except I’m not actually cold)…. High BP, and fast pulse. This can also all be accompanied by slight nausea. AND I pee very very frequently when this happens. Even though I’m not drinking much, I’ll somehow be peeing out large volumes.

What could be causing this?

I’m 31F

Recent blood work and heart tests show nothing obvious.

I’m shattered now, due to it effecting my sleep.

Thank you.

(Everything I look at says anxiety but I don’t feel anxious? It literally comes from nowhere, and only happens in the evening/night…)

Chronically stressed, chronically stoned, how to detox?

I'm a stay at home mom to a beautiful 1 year old who makes me appreciate life and see myself in a completely new way, but my body is stuck in complex ptsd/fight mode. My cortisol is off the charts, I feel like a live wire all the time (meaning since I was a child, now 32) and I use 420 heavily to ease my chronic tension. I took a break from smoking this week and immediately began to struggle with appetite, nausea, headaches and cravings. I don't want to be like this 🙃🫠 How can I break the cycle of coping with my anxiety through 420 usage while also trying to replenish my body with good stuff to help lower my cortisol specifically? I feel extremely drained physically because my nervous system is constantly on edge, and I find it impossible to imagine how to cut 420. What would you do if you were me?

Burned my skin with tea tree oil, where do I look for a remedy

Burned my skin with tea tree oil, where do I look for a remedy

I had it in a small piece of cotton cloth over an squamous cell carcinoma, held on with tape.

was the same size as the sore, 1/4" x 1/4" and was curing me, but then I put it on a larger piece of cloth, about 3/4" x 3/4", which contacted the good skin around the lesion.

Now I have painful inflamed skin around the sore. What's the antidote to overdoing it with melaleuca ?

Is there anything that can be taken with magnesium to lower the laxative effect?

I’ve tried every form of magnesium (glycine, threonate, citrate, micromag, etc) but they all tend to make me go to the loo more. I tried taking calcium with the magnesium and it may or may not have lowered the laxative effect, still need to test it more.

sick of being sick

Hey, I am 30 years old person and during a year of 2023 I was sick 7 times ( symptoms similar to a flu, usually last few days with higher temperature). I am looking for holistic/ natural ways to boost my immune system however I already feel like i am doing a lot:

  1. Diet : I am pescatarian/ vegetarian. I eat fish 1 a month. I eat a lot of salads, proteins, fruits (mostly berries) and seeds. Overall very very well.
  2. I do power walking 1 hour daily with 1-2 days rest.
  3. I suplement vitamin B ( all types), magnesium, vitamin D, everyday

If you could recommend something I could do but also not very costly I would be greateful. Thanks

Edit: thanks everyone for the responses. I really value them and I will have the look on everything that can help me, however I will NOT eat beef and meat. If you have any other recomandations except that i will be happy to hear 😊.

Are the salt and sugar in ultra processed food different from the salt and sugar in non ultra processed foods in ways that cause them to be addictive and less healthy or is it simply the amount or concentration that causes them to be addictive and less healthy?

Like do they undergo processing that differs? Are they engineered without regard to healthiness and in a way that differs from sugar from natural sources? Are they ultra processed? What about regular table salt or regular table sugar?

For those who have vascular migraines, has ginger helped you?

Some say ginger is a vasoconstrictor similar to triptans. Has it worked for you? How do you take it? Raw ginger, full concentrated ginger juice or ginger root (is ginger root the same thing as class ginger?) in a capsule?

Heart Palpitations

3 years ago I read in the internet how heavy metals can be detoxified with Alpha Lipoic Acid, I tried that and since then i have really bad heart palpitations that never got away. I tried various methods but nothing really helped, sometimes i feel free of palpitations but after some time they come back and I am really sick of it. I would appreciate any advice.

The hidden cause of diseases

The hidden cause of diseases

Ilyich Mechnikov, a Russian biologist specializing in anatomy and microbiology, who won the 18th Nobel Prize, said that in addition to bacteria, the main cause of disease is toxins in the body. Toxins pave the way for bacteria to multiply and invade. Therefore, by removing and reducing various toxins in the body, our body will remain healthy and sound. Source here

Need some insight on body odor

29(f) My armpits smell horrible. I shower, wash them really well, and lay in my bed and boom it’s back. I’ve never had this problem. Seriously. I can probably recall maybe five times in my life when I ever smelled like B.O.

It wasn’t until I got covid 2 1/2 years ago when it knocked my entire immune system off. I probably got sick seven times after that in less than a year. I lost my smell for six months and have had parosmia ever since. I only recently began picking up on my own body odor again. Even though it’s still very distorted, I can smell my armpits constantly. It only started in the last six months.

I do want to note that I do wear deodorant most of the time but I try not to when I’m not leaving the house. I just remember that there’s been many times when I didn’t wear any because I literally never smelled under there.

I was reading up on the lymphatic system and I’m 100% certain it’s backed up along with other issues, but I’m wondering if the smell from my body is just toxins coming out or signaling that there’s an issue? Because even when I didn’t wear deodorant in the past I NEVER smelled. Now all I gotta do is sit down and I smell. I’ve read up on all the detox’s. My question is mainly what’s the reason hormonally/internally why this could be happening.
