Spotty progress

I wanted to post some update pictures, he isn't glued yet, just pinned so I can see how it's going. I shaved him down a little bit so I could see how the fur colors interact and how he interacts with the foam cast. I'm really happy with his toothy grin, and how he is coming out in general.

My next step is to design a mohawk, I'm debating how much red I want in his mohawk and how big I want it, so I'll end up playing with a few designs to see how they feel.

He's only pinned on one side in this photo, I won't really get a sense of if he's gonna come to life until it's glued and shaved, until then he'll look like a mess.

I'm basing his fur pattern off of this loaf, as best I could match it. given what's available for faux fur.

Queens on Disney+

Episode 1 features some incredible hyena footage and really dives into the absolutely insane social structures of these animals! It’s pretty violent so be warned. Queen of Yeens by any means necessary!

I'm working a spotted hyena fursuit

This the initial cast I did last week, it's cast in soft polyurethane foam.

I decided I'd go for a pretty opinionated spotted hyena, I wanted a realistic sagittal crest, it's hard to imagine it with fur from a the cast alone, but I'm optimistic it will turn out great.

The pink thing on the side is a vent for a fan.

I spent a lot of time studying spotted hyenas (many of the images from this subreddit) to try to make sure I got something that looks good from different angles.

I'm shooting for something a bit toony, a bit realistic, pretty growly.
