So with inspirtation from books like Warrior Cats and movies like The Lion King, and my passion for wildlife, Africa, and writing, I have written a middle grade level story with an African painted dog pup and his pack as the protagonists (and one antagonist). Yes, the animals talk, but from human standpoint it's the typical growls, etc. I'm shooting for traditionally publishing, but since that's so difficult if that doesn't fall through I'll self-publish (which I've done in the past with other books) and once the book starts making a steady income I'll donate portions of sales to painted dog and other African wildlife conservation. The entire story is typed out and being promoted while still being edited (in the rough draft phase), and I don't want to give details on here to avoid getting too self-promotional. I'll confirm-
Painted dogs are in it (duhhhhh)
Many, if not all, of Africa's iconic savanna species will have their time to shine in it, whether good moments, bad, or neutral.
It will be educational in addition to entertaining
You'll need tissues
Most likely will be standalone
Trying to avoid being too self-promotionally but just wanted to share with people who I think would like something like this. There's more to it, for sure.
