Anyone had success recovering money from a moving scam ?
Had some moving 'company' no show for the appointed date, now they're dodging all attempts at contact.
Paid on zelle which complicates things for me, and I guess I should have taken as a warning sign.
Anyone know of any decent family photographers, preferably with their own studios? I ask as I know of one but they’re charging $400 for 15 minutes (!!). Wondering if this is typical, or if there are others with more reasonable of a time allowance.
I'm planning on moving to downtown next month, and have a few buildings I'm interested in. Does anyone live or have recently lived in any of the following buildings, and can provide some feedback on your unit and building overall?
86 Fleet, The Eagle
The Hub
66 Rockwell.
Thanks!
We been dealing with the neighbor from hell
It’s going to stay cold and dark in here for a few more months. Anyone know of fun activities or just things to do in bk or nyc after 6?
I live in a studio apt and need WIFI only for one device. What companies have reliable service and are reasonably priced?
Long story short, we have a family affair in Brooklyn on a Saturday in December.
There is a 4 hour window between events (2-6pm) and we're looking for ideas of things to do that don't break the bank and don't require us to be outside the whole time. Some ideas so far:
I welcome other ideas!
Does anyone have any recs for Christmas Tree places in Bensonhurst or the surrounding area?
I’m looking for part time work that pays good. I’m currently going back to school grad school in for MSW/counseling/ art therapy not sure which yet.
I’m considering DSP/care giver work or even being a case manager hopefully part time
Or actually anything I don’t really care at this moment I’m unemployed so.

Hi! I’ve been going to the Christmas lights for the last few years, but usually go the last weekend before Christmas and have always gone pretty late. I’m hosting a Christmas party this upcoming Saturday (12/7) and wondering what time the lights stay on until on weekend nights earlier in the month?
I do this party every year (the dyke hyke) and don’t wanna fuck it up by arriving at 9 and all the lights are going off.
Sorry for yet another thread about the lights, but I can’t seem to find answers!
My take on this: Dear local business, help me help you. We're not in 1980 anymore.
Found a place I love within my budget, great amenities and good sized space. It seems street parking will be difficult but not impossible. Would love any local opinions if it's too good to be true. I've seen Gowanus get roasted on here but years ago. 😂
My family always goes to NYC for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and we are looking to try a different area. We wanted to see what would be suggested for fun bars and things to do, especially on the 24th or for a Christmas brunch. It is hard to tell online what is going to be open and festive for the holidays. Thank you!
Hey all! I'm offering affordable Drum Set lessons at a private studio in the Bushwick/Ridgewood area. More info on my website:
Looking for a cleaning service/house keeper for my 1 bed + small entrance den & 1 bath apartment in downtown brooklyn/ brooklyn heights. Looking for once per month but could possibly be every two weeks. I have two cats but they add minimal additional mess. Looking for the options of standard cleaning and deep cleaning when needed.
Any recommendations? If can provide information & pricing as well that would be appreciated!
I will be moving to NY with a $75k salary in May 2025. I’m planning on living in Brooklyn and I’m looking for honest thoughts about this. Do you think it’s enough to live without a roommate? I’m not that young and I like my privacy. I’m not spending that much and I’m good with budgeting. Only thing concerns me is the rent. Do you think it’s doable?
I’ve been looking on indeed and every where saying I need some type of certification to become either one of them.
But is there a way to do it for free?
I thought they can train u on the job to become either one.
I usually go to three guys from Brooklyn but they haven’t had any the past month, or maybe they sell out. Does anyone know a place in Brooklyn that sells them?
Do you guys ever tip the guys behind the counter at Paisanos? I’ve been there twice now and the guy helping me always meets me at the door on the way out with my stuff and I get the sense he’s looking for a tip…
Making spirits high . Empire Boulevard near Flatbush.. pinching myself how much joy they are bringing it
Anyone been there? It’s pretty good. Wanna go? lol
Would I expect to pay more taxes living in Brooklyn or Jersey city if my company is located in NYC?
Struggling to understand what I'm finding through research. Thank you!
Edit: I know Brooklyn is located in NYC :) Sorry if the way I worded my original question is confusing
Looking for spots to go out dancing and have fun! Any recommendations plzzz.
