Seeing a gang of Staten Island Street Turkeys take flight is an awesome sight.
I grew up in st. George/Stapleton, moved to California was 18, and just recently moved back after 20 years. I have a 2 year old and was just wondering if anyone knew about any activities, shows, meetups, or places that would be good to take her to/enroll her in/etc? I'm walking distance from a few amazing local parks and playgrounds, the empire outlets mall/ferry terminal and know about the early literacy storytimes at the library. Thanks in advance!
I've been wondering if there are any stores here that carry Games Workshop products as I've found it to be incredibly troublesome to have to go to Brooklyn or Manhattan to pick up anything in person.
My GF is looking for some extra cash off the books while she works on some personal projects. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!
Anyone know of a pharmacy that prescribes birth control pills for free? I'm looking for an actual prescription, not the otc pills.
I know cvs and rite aid do it for a fee, but if I have to pay for it, I may as well just go see my primary.
Edit- I have insurance that would cover the cost of the medication, I'm just looking for somewhere that doesn't change for writing the actual prescription.
As a queens resident, who travels thru Staten Island multiple times. The hov lane confuses the hell out of me.
All the sign says is 3+ hov lane for the tunnel. Then on the smallest sign ever right before the hov lane ends, it says 6am-10am mon-fri hov3+ only.
Does that mean, 10am and later+ weekends it's a open lane regardless of occupancy?

Would anyone like a free ShopRite turkey?
I was shopping tonight, and they let me know I had reached the promotion for the free turkey or ham. But I don’t really need it, I live alone, I’m never gonna make it. But I took a turkey anyway because I figured I’d give it to family. No one wants it lol.
I mean, I guess it’s a long shot here too. But I’d be willing to drop this turkey off anywhere on SI for anyone who needs/wants it.
This is the rehearsal on Saturday 11/23/24 for the presidential visit on 11/25/24
Need to get beard shaped and trimmed.
Any recommendations?
The place I get my haircut, which I'm happy with for that service, once trimmed my beard and it was terrible.
I live near Clove Lake Park but have car, will travel.
Thank you.
I usually go to Seven at Ink Couture, but want something done (septum) this weekend. Can anyone recommend a good one? My daughter is 16 and wants to do it before she chickens out, so I’d like someone calm and gentle (as possible).
Does anyone have any video or images of the 99 cent store at this location on amboy road. The owner moved away do to issues with his wife's health he was a nice guy. seems like everything on this road won't go back before 2018 sadly
What’s with all the Albanian flags along Hylan Blvd?
Does anyone know what businesses will be in that lil plaza, or if there are any slated? Glad to see businesses opening!
Some people tell me it’s September, and some people tell me it’s December. When is the best time to go looking for sheds?
Are there any craft groups that meet on weekends? I crochet blankets for shelter animals, and I would love to find a group to meet with once or twice a month and chat while we craft :) I’ve found a couple of groups at libraries and churches, but they meet during the week and I’m not able to do this due to work. Thanks!
Does anyone know where restaurants or bars do free trivia nights? I’d love to go!!
Anyone know what’s going on around father Capodanno and the beach? I see so many barriers around it saying no parking Sunday and Monday but don’t see any events involved.
I am so tired of driving on the highway and sitting in traffic because of THIS specific exit going towards the Goethals. People use the exit lane as a way to cut people off and it just causes more traffic💔💔💔
Good morning, Staten Island!
My previous (and first) post here got so much great feedback and I was overwhelmed. After all the helpful and welcoming comments, I only want to visit Staten Island even more!
Looking through the restaurant suggestions, I’m primarily intrigued by Enoteca Maria. It’s such a lovely, culturally diverse concept. I’d like to hear from prior experiences and knowledge. A few questions I have are: How busy does it get? How much can one expect to spend per person usually? I’m planning on going on Sunday/tomorrow. How soon can/should I make a reservation?
If that doesn’t work out for some reason, I’d be equally delighted to try out The Basement, Lakruwana, Chang Noi or Beso. Over multiple trips, we’ll move further into Staten Island to see Shawnae, Basilio Inn, Ruddy and Dean, Vinum, and various other unmentioned, amazing restaurants. The museums and harbors will have to wait for a future trip.
Did I mention you guys are awesome? Would anyone be open to do a Staten Island meetup in the future, possibly even tomorrow when we try to go to Enoteca Maria or another restaurant tomorrow?
I’ve lived in Staten Island my whole life and know most neighborhoods. I’m curious how you guys think crime is around Staten Island. I just started doing instacart so I’ve been in the north shore more than I have in the past because I grew up in the south shore. I’ve seen a lot of people saying there’s very selective areas that are bad. Based on your opinions use the following colors to fill out Staten Island based on crime. Red being the worst, orange bad, yellow mostly safe and green for safe and post in comments.
I will go to the U.S. next year to study English Language School. My school is in Mid Down Manhattan. My friend lives in Stapleton. I will stay at my friend's house. Would it be safe to take the bus, ferry and come home every day? My style is very different. I wear pink and very colorful things.
I'm planning a trip to NYC for early next year. I'm looking at an AirBNB near the corner of St Marks Pl and Wall St. Is this a decent area for two women to stay for a couple of weeks?
Thanks
I have a bunch of books I want to get rid of where can I donate them at?
