Hey hey. Any recommendations for onigiri in the neighborhood. I’ve eaten my full from Yaya Tea and need a different menu.
Like the title states. Got a beautiful, fresh Christmas tree today from Gardel's (97 S Portland Ave).
Please consider supporting this local, black-owned business this holiday season.
What does everyone think about City of Yes? There are already big developments going up on the west side of the park, do you think more housing is good for the neighborhood?
Friends, former neighbors - I’m visiting from afar and have my racket. Are the nets still up in Fort Greene Park? Is there a reservation system off-season? Many thanks.

Hi! I started a walking club, we meet on Mondays @ 7pm at the park, in front of Walters (Cumberland/Dekalb)
I started it because I've lived in Ft Greene over a year and haven't really met a lot of people (in & out of nyc for the past 6 years and feels like all my friends left), also I WFH and by the time evening rolls around I've barely moved all day or interacted with another human. Looking for like minded individuals who want to move, connect and get fresh air.
I've been trying this out for a couple of months now and I always end the walks feeling better than when I got there, I've also made a new friend which as an adult feels like such a win. It's slowlyyyy growing, but sometimes it can be quite lonely because very few people show up. Hoping it grows! Evolves! And makes others feel better.

Our friend, Angelica, is a full time nanny with 13 years of experience and is available immediately for full time work within the NYC area. She has worked with babies from 3 months to 3+ years of age. We met Angelica through our current nanny. She is funny, sweet, kind, and caring. We are so blessed that she is part of our son’s life. Even though she is not our nanny, she helped put together his first birthday party and is always available to lend a helping hand. Over the summer, she planned adventures or special events for all the children in the “nanny gang” to places like the Brooklyn Children’s Museum or concerts at the Central Library. The nannies all joke that she is the “best of all the nannies.” Angelica is truly a wonderful, once in a lifetime nanny.
Please message me if interested and I can provide more details!

I found this paper that showed a correlation between Big 5 personality traits and neighborhood choice in the Greater London Area. I wanted to see if these results could be replicated in NYC.
I'm looking for 8k-18k responses to ensure statistical validity.
The survey will give you your Big 5 Personality scores as an incentive. Open to suggestions.
I just moved to the area last month and I'm looking for any groups that regularly play pick-up basketball – indoors – in the Fort Greene area? I'm not looking for a formal league or games with refs, but just a group that plays consistently once a week or so in an open gym. If anyone is aware or part of one and wants another player, that would be amazing.
Anyone aware of any stoop sales this weekend?
Weird question, but I'm trying to figure out which local businesses (especially restaurants and bars) sell merchandise like hats or shirts with their logos on them.
For instance, Pecks has shirts and beanies, 750 Myrtle Diner has shirts, and Joe and Sal's has shirts and hats... but I am sure there are a bunch more that I'm overlooking.
My wife and I have lived here for over 10 years and are leaving soon. I want to surprise her with some stuff that will remind her of the neighborhood.
If you know of any, please share. Thanks.
Has anyone else interacted with this asshole with the huge dog who hangs out in the middle of the park after dark near the big field? Picks fights with people and turns his off leash, un-neutered dog on other dogs. He made inflammatory comments about me and my 8mos pregnant wife about being white. We didn’t take the bait, but the next people did, which led to a huge dog fight. Heavyset, hotep-style black guy in his 40s with a cane corso or a mastiff. Somebody (human or dog) is going to get seriously hurt if he keeps it up.
Hi everyone, I’m paying for a masters program and hoping to make some extra cash. I’m on Rover if anyone is looking for someone easy in the area to help with their pet!
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I’m a local professional offering construction estimates, projects cost control and envelope design review.
Whether you’re a homeowner, developer, or just curious about budgeting for renovations, I can help bringing clarity to your project.
What I Can Help With: • Accurate Cost Estimates: Getting a realistic picture of your project costs upfront so you know what to expect and can make informed decisions. • Cost Control: Managing your budget throughout the project to prevent surprises, avoid overruns, and keep things on track. • Envelope Design Checks: Reviewing building envelopes (like roofs, walls, and windows) to ensure energy efficiency and durability, especially important with NYC’s unique weather and codes.
If this sounds helpful, feel free to reach out! I’d love to discuss your project or answer any questions about construction.
Wondering if any fort greeners voted early! I am a journalist hoping to find some voters in the neighborhood for a series of mini-profiles I’m working on
Greetings parents, students, young adults, and all! Looking for new students of any age and who are interested in the following:
About me: nearly a decade of teaching experience with students from age 5-75, local to Bushwick/Ridgewood, open to lessons online or in person. DM me with any questions!
Hey everyone — new to the area and looking to buy some things for my place (bedroom stuff mostly!) and not opposed to clothes too. What are your fav thrift stores in the area? Will be checking them out tomorrow :)
Thanks so much!
What does everyone pay monthly? Hard sales tactics from the staff there. None of which are good value
