Don’t get me wrong. I love living here. However, hard not to compare a lot of Bedstuy with other regions close by in Brooklyn. I was walking down Nostrand from Lafayette to Fulton. Most shops were closed permanently, and most of many blocks looked so dark, and depressing. Long stretches without any shops. Yes, delis but that’s about it.
When one walks down neighborhoods adjacent, things seem way more … lively.
Was this a pandemic thing? We are off of Clinton Place and Bedford, and moved here in 2020, hence the questions.
hi all, looking at a place nearby herbert von king. i love the place except im worried about flooding risks. it was just newly renovated, the backyard is soil not concrete, but i didnt notice any drains down by the stairs that lead us to our outdoor space.
any insight is appreciated!
So the Chinese store I usually go to is closed on Sundays, so I’m looking for a place in the neighborhood to grab some chicken wings to go with the game later. Any recs? If no spots nearby, I’ll take Uber Eats recs as well lol
Hello there, BedStuy community! I was photographing a family in Saratoga Park last Sunday and the cutest doggie stopped and looked straight into my camera. I would like to give this photo to his/her owner. Anyone recognizes them?
5 to 6', 100 bucks delivered to your door Dm
So I have Optimum Internet right now and I hate it so much. Fios isn’t available in my building yet so my only alternative is Verizon 5G home internet. Anyone have experience with it in Bed Stuy? Is it good? The price is unbeatable and I would do anything to give Optimum the middle finger.
Hello! We had our catalytic converter cut out and stolen from our car this morning on Putnam & Throop. It might be linked to a black Camry that was parked on the street - our neighbors said they seemed suspicious. Probably a one off job, but wanted to give a heads up for any other car owners to be on the lookout of any suspicious behavior!
Looking to reunite a pair of AirPods with their owner. Found on Marcus Garvey btwn Madison & Putnam. DM me specifics of the case and we can arrange to meet up.
Apologies if this has been asked before, but what bars in the area will be open over the holiday?
Looks super remodeled!
Anyone ever visit the Noir Yoga studio? I’m interested in going for some sessions but am wondering how pricing was and how the experience might have been for others who visited.
Will there be any Christmas trees for sale on the street in Bed Stuy?
First Christmas in the neighborhood and I love the street vendors with the trees
I cannot fucking stand Gates Walgreens any longer. It's torture and they take forever to fill things.
Also open to Crown Heights suggestions. Deliveries are a little dicey with my apartment building so sadly I'm stuck going in person
Thanks!
I’m a native New Yorker, it takes a lot to rattle me. Today on the train, all of a sudden people were in between cars banging to get on our car. I guess they couldn’t open the door for some reason? Anyway as soon as the door opened, people were stampeding onto our car and so everyone on our car was stampeding to get to the other side of the car. People were on the ground, everyone was pushing and no one knew why. I immediately thought there was someone with a gun and I’m sure most people thought the same. It was scary and trust me I’ve seen some scary shit. People were crying and having panic attacks. Does anyone know what caused the stampede? The only thing mentioned on Citizen was “person injured at Hoyt-Schermerhorn station”
Just curious if you have heard of any new exciting things that are coming?
Hey all,
I'm a long-time lurker on this sub and have contacted many posters. I figure it's about time I put my contact information out there if you need any coverage. I can't promise to cover every story, but I would love to hear from you.

I’m moving from the heart of Bushwick to Bed-Stuy and would love some good recommendations on what to do! I’m an artist, so love figure drawing events or anything along those lines, I go to tons of events and hang out at coffee shops and bookstores, and I don’t really drink lot but Jazz bars and eclectic places in the evening are awesome. There’s undoubtedly a different energy in this area but I’m excited to explore any insights you might have! Just want to build a nice little queer female friend group in my new spot and check out all the fun spots. :)
Got any ideas? Thanks :)

An estimated 30% of pipes delivering water to New York City buildings may have lead – and now there’s a map to help determine if your building is affected.
