Was thinking about my old neighborhood today (Far Rockaway) and that got me thinking about Neo City Games/Gaming. From what I remember they had two locations but the last time I was in the neighborhood they were off of Mott Ave.
Used to skip school or go there directly after school to play games and watch anime, haha. That dude definitely helped keep my friends and I off the street. Modded my PS1, the binders of burned games. Tons of imports. Always hooked us up with imported anime VHS tapes.
Wondering what happened after I moved out of the neighborhood (2002-ish). I remember EB Games were replacing some mom and pop shops followed by GameStop acquiring them so I can only guess that they were up against those locations.
Anyone been to Renzo Gracie Bayside? I’ve been interested in joining and was wondering what the typical BJJ and Muay Thai class is like there.
I’m not a girlie girl. I’m a wash and go no make up kinda chick.
Friday is my bday and I want to get my hair trimmed. Normally got a trim from a friend who no longer around.
I don’t want a huge $$$ salon experience. I want a Supercuts/Lemontree type of service. Simple
Anyone?
Hi! I’m looking for any events that are giving winter clothes, jackets and shoes out for those in need?
I am a high school teacher in South Queens and would like to find any dates and locations to give that information for my students in need.
I have been looking on FB market for any free clothing so I can pick up for them if they’re nearby me but I don’t want to give my teenagers that as a suggestion.
Ty in advance for any suggestions!
This is probably the most niche and random thing ever, but here goes. Does anyone know of a personal trainer that can teach me handstands? I literally don't need anything else. I weightlift and do calisthenics on my own. I've been trying to learn handstands for a month and I'm making zero progress, so I need this.
So far, I've looked up some personal trainers on Facebook and Craigslist, but none of them mention gymnastics in their bio. I also found some gymnastics gyms. But they teach kids and I'm a 36 year old male, which is sus AF if I go to one of those, y'know? But maybe it's worth a shot.
I live in Fresh Meadows, if that makes a difference.
Hi everyone, I am looking for recommendations for spots that might sell pozole by weight/volume and tamales by the dozen, for pickup on/before thanksgiving.
Would be great if they were closer to Sunnyside, Woodside, and Astoria. I don't mind making a longer trip though, as long as they're worth it! (whether it be in Queens or another borough).
Any cafes in queens that have gluten free and dairy free hot chocolate?
Please recommend some good providers.
I am hoping to get some advice on good places to eat in the Richmond Hill / Little Guyana / South Ozone Park area. It's filled with small but wonderful seeming Punjabi, Guyanese, and Trinidadian places. Can somebody give me some advice on which places I should be trying in this area (any ethnicity, not just the ones listed)?
I remember seeing the video shared here and thought this was an interesting development.

Wondering if it depends on which part of Queens you're from or is it just Jamaica Avenue?
I started smelling smoke in my apt at 2 am last night and it hasnt stopped. Anyone else? Is this from the Prospect Park fires or NJ fires? Air quality is terrible.
Just saw a ton of cars and large pickups with hazards going east on Cooper and more than 100 motorcycles alongside them. I couldn't read the club member jackets but googled around and pretty sure it was the Unknown Bikers. Anyone know what was/is up?
Are there any baby classes or activities you recommend in Queens?
On Wednesday, November 13, the New York City Council will vote on the FARE Act, a bill to prevent renters from being required to pay broker fees. If this issue matters to you, consider reaching out to your city council member this week to share your perspective. You can find your council member by searching your address on the New York City Council website.
The following Queens-based City Council members have NOT co-sponsored the FARE Act.
Woodhaven and Metro. Can’t think of it, it’s driving me crazy.
Hi all, I'm trying to find some new indoor hobbies, especially as winter hibernation is just around the corner!
Does anyone have recommendations for adult classes for learning how to knit or crochet in the borough? TIA
Double sided color on thick gloss paper letter size (it would be monthly)
Update 11.02.24 : They are moving to Rego Park Plaza (my bad)
I was this morning there, I heard a worker telling that to a customer … I would like to know if any other stores in New York will be closing this year (I don’t know if there was a post about this before in this sub)
