No selling It's OK to share the things you've made or a cool new product you've discovered, but this isn't the place to market products or web sites. Only a small % of my collection. The only reason there here at all is at release time it was all available . Thoughts or change my mind with some customs
SBD Apex Damasteel, SBD Mini Evo, MIH Cicada, ReatecIron
what are some ups and downs of each series??, which models are the best in your eyes and what models should be avoided??? and which series offer better value??
edit; what are some competitors/ alternative options to either of the companies offerings?????
I have this as a set of kitchen blades and have been steadily sharpening it for a while to a decent edge. I was looking to up-skill my cooking, what is this type of knife called so I can research better, I’ve seen it as “chef’s knife”?
Hello everyone
Have been looking at a soft-use hunting knife and really liked the look of a bark river mini hunter ( used to be mini kalahari?) but they seem as rare as teeth these day… continued on and found very attractive muela 4410. Hoped for at least 14c27 but it’s made of MoVa? As my last experience with a muela knife was 30+ years ago, can anyone comment on this steel for a light use hunting knife? ( jobs like gutting, cutting food,… ) for heavy use I have an axe😅
Will dye one of the folders
Hey guys! I’ve got some chunky knives that are a little too thick to fit into my worksharp. Could anybody suggest a good clamp upgrade to fix this? Thanks!
One of my favorite users. Pretty sure these are no longer made, they closely shadow the xm-18 3.0.
Found this in the back of an old Landcruiser i bought 3 years ago that was sitting for long time. The owner had since moved several states away and left the vehicle with their neighbours for them to sell. Good bit of kit.
First Spyderco for me. Have an assortment of other brands but figured the collection needed at least one Spyderco. Went with the Matriarch 2 for the updated design advantages over the OG Civilian. Super smooth. Love the Emerson opener. VG10 steel. Got it on sale for $119.
Looking for a nice Bowie and after the disappointment with Cold Steel’s offerings I found the Western w49. Looks like the size I’m looking for. Question is any other similar knives out there to consider? Budget is up to $300 or so. Want to stick to that exact look of knife too.
Howdy y’all. I’m looking at a knife that seems to be sold out everywhere but bladeandbeam.com.
I wanted to ask if anyone knows if this is a legitimate website to buy from before I choose to send them 145 of my freedom bucks?
Thanks in advance for any info from people that have experience with them.
Blade was made from a band saw from one of the local mills
I mean yeah, it's an ok steel, but it doesn't hold an edge very long and will rust really easily.
Sure I have knives with 1075 steel, (and I LOVE my KA-BAR but mostly for historical reasons). However, there are so many steels available today that are superior to 1075 in every way so I just can't understand why so many people are obsessed with 1075.
It can't just be because 1075 is cheap, because I see knives made from 1075 that are massively overpriced all the time.
So what is it? What makes you swear by 1075 over any other steel?
Meat’s back on the menu, boys!
Ruffed grouse - easily, some of the most delicious wild game out there!
I was incredibly active in this sub as well as a couple other knife related subs and had no problem buying and selling a knife here and there. (I’m aware no sales are allowed in this sub) Now I need to get rid of some and not sure where or how to go about it in a timely fashion. Advice would be much appreciated.
Hey guys. I bought a TRC Southpole in Magnacut last month and love it. Now I want the smaller TRC Polheim but I’m wondering if I’ll regret having two knives that are so similar.
Should I get the Polheim or maybe a McNees ridge runner for a smaller blade?
That's a good looking Vanax edge.
