I need to leave Brooklyn to head to DC on Sunday (from Prospect Heights area). What’s the best way to get to I-95 from Brooklyn on Sunday ?
The lower level of the Verrazano will be open but assume it will be a mess. I can’t imagine the Holland tunnel being any better though?

Edit: leaving Sunday….
I’m from the UK and here for a couple of weeks. Looking for a bar to watch Premier League games.
Based in Park Slope but happy to travel far and wide considering I’ll probably have to as I specifically want to watch Arsenal tomorrow at 8.30am
I need to get a white gold diamond ring turned into a yellow diamond ring using the same diamond. Hoping to sell the white gold, whilst doing this as well.
Does anyone have recommendations for where to go to get this done? I’ve never worked with jewelers before!
Hi 👋 We’re supporting Free Healthcare Week, offering free online doctor visits for the local community.
The event runs November 4-9 at Parkside Chemists in Prospect Heights (1274 Nostrand Ave).
We’d love your help spreading the word to your friends and family.
Please feel free to share the attached event poster.
Thanks for helping us support the health of our community!
Does anyone miss the one at Bay Parkway?
The view up there is ALMOST able to see all of south Brooklyn. If there was a tower up there with stairs that went up like 5 stories you’d be able to see all of Brooklyn from all directions. Just a thought.
ive been a freshman at st francis for the past 2 months and im wondering whether i can stay here and actually end up in med school or should i transfer to a bigger name school
My bf and I want to go out but he’s like ohhh let’s wear our costumes it’s the Friday after Halloween and I’m like … I don’t want to be the only person dressed up some people have moved on to Christmas already …
Title. I have a pair of wool pants that I love that have split in the crotch. This has happened before (different pair) and the tailor I went to was GREAT but kind of out of budget. Any places I can go to and trust they'll do a good repair job for a decent price?
Back on ADHD meds from the psychiatrist i've been seeing since high school. My insurance won't pay for the meds because he's not an approved doctor, so I have to pay out of pocket. I don't have the time/patience to find a new doctor, so for now I'm paying cash. Every pharmacy thus far told me they don't take goodRX for controlled substances, but they are supposedly out there. Does anyone know of one? Southern Brooklyn or closer to Midwood/Flatbush the better
I buy my gf flowers every week, and I want to give her something new every time. Anything near the Flatbush area would be amazing! Even if I pay in advance for a month (80 bucks per month) to get something nicer
Edit: I think people are getting Flatbush confused with Flatbush avenue. I'm referring to the area by Ocean parkway ish and avenue R
Hey all,
I'm a multi-instrumentalist/producer/singer, 31M, based out of Bed Stuy. I'm looking for local musicians who are interested in joining a psychedelic rock group!
"kromacult" has been a passion project of mine since quarantine. kromacult is hypnotic, groovy, dystopian, melodic, surreal, provocative, psychedelic, dreamy, droning, dark, and dynamic. You can hear some WIP demos here: kromacult
kromacult is seeking: (1) a drummer, (2) a bassist, (3) a lead guitarist, (4) a producer/synth extraordinaire. The ability to harmonize is ideal.
Until now, I have done all of the above. Some exciting progress is being made and I have reached a point where I would like to socialize the fun. My goal is to juggle guitar, synths, and singing live. Your assistance on your respective instrument and harmonizations would be appreciated.
It is my hope to make something truly collaborative. If we come together and enjoy each others' company, artistry, and vision, I would consider you as much a part of the creative process as I am. For the debut, this means collaborating on the existing ideas/arrangements and extrapolating/developing them together for release. For future releases, this means generating and collaborating on original ideas together.
Doesn't matter where in Brooklyn you are, but practicing will likely happen in Bushwick and much of the recording (that we don't need a studio for) will be done at my home studio in Bed Stuy.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Please send along any clips or recordings if possible. Thanks!
So I posted yesterday about an unfortunate incident I was a victim of. A guy smacked me hard at the back of my head, unprovoked, while I was waiting for my train at Hoyt-Schermerhorn station.
Some redditors suggested I file a police report. I went down to the station today and told them about what happened. But they more or less discouraged me from filing, saying there isn't much they can do, given I can't describe the assailant well enough.
All I could tell them was that he was around 5'11, fit, black, wearing a white hoodie, short hair, and had specs and a bagpack on. But they said it can't help them pick the right person from the crowd. I was a bit taken aback coz I don't expect them to keep an eye out 24/7 for a certain vaguely described person, but rather check the footage and get the picture of the man. When asked about cameras, they said there aren't any down at the platform.
When I asked about the camera above (since the assailant had taken stairs after hitting me)? They said, oh we can't see the footage, as that is for the detectives. Do you still wanna file? It will take 45 mins to 1 hour and you won't really get much out of it. Then they asked me if I was injured. Well, he smacked me, but I am not gravely injured or anything. And so they said there isn't much they can do but I can file if I still want to.
I didn't. Not sure if I should have had. But next time something like this happens (hopefully not), I'll be quick to call 911. Also, just knowing there is a police dept at the station is a bit of a relief in itself. Although I do wish they checked the footage and let me identify the asshole.
Hey hey!
Really good food/baked goods offering up anything for the holidays? I got wind of Bartleby & Sage making homemade pies (their pastry chef makes * chef's kiss * baked goods) and I know One Girl Cookies does an actual baking class (fun!)...
Anyone have any good local recommendations for Friendsgiving treats?
Heyyy, I’m going out tmr night with my friends for Halloween. Anyone going to Brooklyn Monarch for the Y2K party?
Hi everyone! Title says it all. I found a post from about 3 years ago asking this same question but I didn't know if it was still relevant. Thanks!
Our son’s daycare is closed Tuesday. I am curious to check out Brooklyn Children’s Museum but is that a big mistake? Will it be pure chaos? What about Brooklyn Botanic Garden?
Anyone know of any bars around the Franklin, Washington, Vanderbilt area of crown/prospect heights that might be showing the election results coming in on Tuesday?
Hi everyone - this is a longshot but I was involved in a hit and run last Saturday that totaled my car on Driggs ave and N 12 street in Williamsburg. By the time we got back to the car the guy was already gone.
However, a pedestrian managed to snap this photo of him checking on his car before driving away. He also hit another car parked behind mine. Tried reporting to both my insurance and the police but both haven’t provided me any updates since. I appreciate you guys!
Curious if people have recommendations for a tailor in the Fort Greene/Clinton Hill area? Looking to tailor a luxury brand coat so would prefer someone who has the experience/people would trust. Thanks in advance!
This was my 3rd year doing my Halloween Photo Booth where I stand on the corner of Bainbridge Street and Malcolm X Boulevard for 3 hours and photograph kids and families in their costumes.
I do it as a way to thank the neighborhood for taking such good care of my (our?) cat Bed-Stuy Tofu, who is living his best cat life running up and down Bainbridge Street.
Tonight I shot 262 portraits -- up from 153 in 2022 and 197 in 2023 -- and I'm already trying to figure out how 2025 will be even bigger and better.
This year I actually had a candy sponsor, a balloon sponsor, and a printing sponsor.

See you next year!
My Halloween costume is very extra. I wanna wear it but id rather not be the only one in costume
Not a stray!
I was biking thru and almost hit a healthy looking tabby who was very anxious and stressed. It did not move like a stray you could tell it was confused and panicked like it had never been outside. If you are missing a cat near the west side of prospect park I spotted it around here. I tried searching for it, a couple said it was looking to me and stopped when I papspspsps’d it. I could not for the life of me find it after I tried :/ this was at 9:30 PM Halloween night. Hoping this helps someone!
Myself and a bunch of my boys planned a bachelor party for a friend for Saturday night however the venue fell through.
We are currently looking for a last-minute place that will not break the bank that allows us to bring in our own food and alcohol.
As far as location goes. We’re looking for anywhere in downtown Brooklyn or close to that
If anyone has an idea, it would be greatly appreciated.
I'm fat. Live in the the sticks with no delivery anything. I usually hit L&B spumoni for 2 or 3 sicilians and freeze slices once or twice a year. Driving down with a freezer and a food saver monday for 2 days. Plan to eat and walk my dog that's bout it. Hotels booked, just need pizza place ideas. Lemme have it.
Kind of crazy to be wearing a bathing suit when I was wearing a leather jacket and scarf last week but here we are!
