With Kyle Higashioka going off to Arlington, issues have arrived in San Diego when it comes to the catcher position. With this decision comes with the question — who are we going to have at starting catcher going into next season?
In all seriousness, I hope AJ is cooking up something in the front office as we speak. With the Dodgers essentially building a superteam up north, and Ohtani being Ohtani, I don’t think we can afford to have a piss-poor catcher depth going into next season. Campusano is obviously not it and never will be it, and Brent Sullivan isn’t any better.
Honestly, it’s looking very bleak right now. This offseason is looking to be a very slow burn and I doubt it gets any better.
Have had trouble finding much tape on him and then stumbled on this video. Thought others might enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25EwAjivAHo
Mamma Mia 🤌🤌🇮🇹
So I was thinking (as most of us have been). When he makes his return to petco as a starting pitcher, rather than booing (which is what is expected) we should just be dead silent. To the point where we can hear someone across the park fart. Is it actually possible? Not sure, given that not all 37k + people will not see this thread but it would be louder than booing. Nothing we do will change his signing but at least we can get in his head. Thoughts?
Got to check out the inside of the locker room during the golf event at Petco - thought this was amazing.
He liked the fuckin post lmao at this point give him ownership in the padres so he’s here for life
Getting away from the S(n)ellout posts, about a year ago I made a post quickly after our trade of Soto reference and I just went back and read it. While I still hold some minor similar ideas about timing, Im so happy that I was flat out wrong and happy to admit it. Another example of how AJP just knows how to scout and can get talent unlike any other GM out there. King is, well, a damn King and not much is needed to say about Higgy's year, Vasquez held is own on that backend of our ratation, and obviously flipping Thorpe for our boy Cease. Some chess being played there. With that being said, FTD and FBS (that would be fuck Blake Snell for those still reading), lets get Roki and keep the faith on what AJ has in store this off season.
This signing mainly pisses me off because I just like Snell as a person and I don’t want to have to root against him, but as far as the team goes, if we were being honest, he wasn’t a difference maker. He presided over two of the most heartbreaking collapses in franchise history in 2021 and 2023. He was good but not great in the playoffs in 2022. He might not always be terrible in the first half and amazing in the second half; those could switch, or he could just be terrible all year, or he could just be wildly inconsistent. He has a rubber arm but other body parts, such as the hip and the groin, are not so indestructible.
Additionally, this doesn’t make the Dodgers rotation indestructible. Sho probably won’t be himself for the first half of the year. Snell will probably suck until June. Walker Buehler and Jack Flaherty are pretty unlikely to return now. God only knows what prospects and young players will make it into the rotation because the Dodgers are a Tommy John factory.
Above all, no matter how much the Dodgers load up with big names, baseball still has to be played. No matter how much money they spend, may we always remember the completely insane amount of money that the Mets spent just to lose 90 games a couple years ago. Not to mention, you probably won’t have Kendrick gassing up the entire city in 2025 like he did in 2024.
Judging from the date of the ticket that was in the bag, this is pin #6
Hey folks. I've got a few collectibles and looking to get a few more that I don't have. I've got the following:
Each are still in their packaging.
Looking for the following:
I'm in SD proper, and willing to travel as far as OC for an in-person trade.
Thanks!
