I’m a photographer that wants to sell my photos. I’m looking for some sort of affordable print shop where I can use as my main source of printing and shipping to clients. Or I can do the shipping. Printing itself seems to be so expensive that selling a photo + making any sort of profit on top of that is very hard to do.
This could be canvas wrapped or framed photo. In the 16x24 and 24x36 sizes
Any recommendations of local or online businesses?
maybe group/disc group to do a meetup? Bar hopping, bonfire or karaoke would be sick maybe for new years? Whos down
I'll take large-scale resurfacing of local roads. Our surface streets are in terrible condition. Our freeways are in much better condition. If we can't even maintain existing surface streets, let's not fork out billions of dollars to build new freeway lanes (Just the I-5 express lanes from La Jolla to Oceanside would cost $3.1 Billion).
Before COVID, I remember it was lively, but I attended recently and most of the members were retirees or close to retirement aged...it seemed they always attended EVERY event but never trade numbers or made friend with the other members to do things in person...was very boring compared to before COVID.
I was the only person under age 50 (and I am saying 50 broadly I'm sure they were much older), It felt awkward...oddly some of those people I actually remember seeing at meetup events years ago (they were older then too, but there were more people age 21-49 at the events...but it seems like now there is only seniors...what happened?
What is the new way to make friends to get together with outside of events in person? I really do not want to have to attend ONLY meetup events to have a social life as that is weird.
I am at an age where I need both male and females friends, I don't want to have no social life and always be at the meetup events all the time, that was not how meetup used to be before, at least not in my age demographic.
I left SD for a few years, I come back everything seems different now and there are not many people in their 30s and 40s (or late 20s) out here anymore. At least not attending any events.
I have nothing against seniors, but I don't have much in common with them and I don't have much in common with someone in their early 20s either.
While I am glad they have a large following among seniors, I feel I can't seem to find anything in between (ages 25-54 for example). They are leaving out those "in-between ages". There has to be some outlet for us in the area.
What are people doing to meet new people they can spend time with one on one?
Preferably near Hillcrest. I'm going to a baby shower and trying to avoid buying more wrapping paper I'll have to store
I've got a nook about 96" by 24" that I'd love to get floor to ceiling shelves installed in. Glass preferred, but stained wood also works. Nothing going on the shelves is particularly heavy (no books), but maximizing shelf space (especially depth) is a priority. The kicker is that I'd like to put some kind of glass door on them to keep out both dust / cats out of. Mostly I've been quoted for cabinet doors, but a sliding glass piece on a track would also likely work.
I've reached out to a couple of the custom closet companies (California Closets, Closet Factory), but the quotes I got were in the high four to low five figures. Those numbers aren't totally out of reach, but they feel sort of like I'm not matching talent to task on them. The designers were great to work with, but the combination of price and final product makes it feel like I'm getting an overcomplicated (and expensive) product for the fuction. They're also for basically three separate 'cases' just lined up next to each other.
Does anyone have a better recommendation / experience with this in San Diego? I feel like I am asking the wrong people for the wrong product right now. Is this best farmed out to a carpentor? Is there a better 'off the shelf' option that I've been missing?
Figured the brain trust here would know more than me.
Thanks!
I'm a tad surprised by getting a second price increase after just three months. Anyone else seeing this? Generally I recommend AT&T fiber, but this kind of quick increase isn't really acceptable.
Edit: $5 was charged because I was paying by credit card, now I'm doing a direct bank ACH so the fee should go away.
Anyone waiting for the trees to go on sale at Lowe’s. I remember last year they were like 20% off I think second week of December.
Update: sale is going on now. 25% through 12/2.
meetup when? is there any social clubs/chat i can join?
Any suggestions on a Christmas lights set up we can walk around on a Tuesday evening/ night? Going on a date and would appreciate any recommendations! It must be Tuesday as it’s my day off this coming week lol. I’m open to bar suggestions as well but the one I looked at in Chula Vista is not taking reservations that day. Thanks in advance!
My spouse’s birthday is coming up and I’m having a hard time coming up with a way to celebrate. Normally I’d take him to do something outdoorsy, to a whiskey tasting, breweries, etc but I’m pregnant and those go-tos are rather complicated now. He’s been working crazy hard and I’d like to take him to do something and decompress a little.

I’m willing to spend a few hundred on an evening out. Appreciate any ideas!
Has anyone noticed if they have Christmas trees at Costco? Specifically at the Santee location? Thanks!
I grew up in LA/valley, and every day there was always a couple of sketchy trucks driving through our streets. They served Popsicles, wrapped ice creams, banana splits, soft serve, and nachos. There is still one that regularly comes by in the evening out here. Best random evening treats.
Do those exist in SD in certain neighborhoods? I don't think I've seen many (if any) in UH/NP area, so I'm wondering if they drive around in other neighborhoods..
Hi, we may be traveling from out of state to California to have surgery at Rady hospital and have to be there for 2-3 weeks. Not sure how we can even make this work for our family and when I asked the ortho department for a Ronald McDonald referral she said they told her it’s unavailable and I asked about a waitlist was told that doesn’t change.
I was honest with the surgeon we would have difficulty making 18 days work could we try for 10-12 if all looks good go back home but he said no. I got a hotel list yet the hotels don’t know the code or rate or it’s literally the same as the one if you search yourself. Does anyone know of any grants or other housing I could apply for? We aren’t military so fisher house won’t work. (My dad was military though so I think it’s awesome they do that!) Air bnb was recommended but it still adds up! (Incase I magically do find a Airbnb affordable which areas are safe/clean but maybe 15 min to rady I should check)
If anyone knows the actual rady discount hotel list with the codes feel free to share because when I asked they said they didn’t have an updated one?
It’s going to be pretty for a few months now.
i am trying to sell my car that is dying. I already tried CarCzar but they wouldn't take it. Any other places that offer cash for cars running or not?
I bought a home in lakeside in Feb this yr for 950k. Back in Sept they sent me a bill for the property tax for ~2k with a $700 supplemental bill. So I paid a total of 2700 for the first installment (6 months). .... Then last wk I got another three bills with different parcel numbers. For 2.2k, 2k, and another 700 bill. ... So another 4900 for 6months. Anyone know if this is normal? With the holiday and weekend I wasn't able to call the tax collector.
My paid bills labelled in blue for 2700
The 3 additional parcels requesting 4900 in orange
If anyone can explain it to me, I'd appreciate it.
Have a flight tomorrow AM and was trying to gauge!
Have 5 tickets to tomorrow's game against Tuscon Roadrunners at 6pm. DM me if interested. Seats are upper center ice.
