I was just flipping past a trial on Court TV and this sweet little old lady on the witness stand said her closet was like Fibber McGee's... "if you open the closet door, you're liable to get hit in the head with somethin'."
I am really enjoying it. I am at S3 now, and tbh, I find that Beth's wardrobe in this season a little much odd. I am not from the US nor Europe, so was this ok to wear like that?
The Cane
Lisa: Uh well for the record, sir, we really do try to keep our personal and professional lives completely separate.
Mr. James: Yeah and I try to keep my dogs off the sofa
Stephen Root's delivery of this line will always make me laugh. He just drops it so casually and immediately moves on to the next thought. Comedy gold.
That is all
Been teaching my 6th grade daughter Bill Mcnealisms lately. The other day she told her teacher "Mighty oaks from tiny acorns grow." I told her the next thing to learn is "When life gives you lemons..."
The jump from the Pilot to the second episode is so jarring. I feel like they missed an opportunity to show Dave and Lisa first get to know each other and how they ended up hooking up. Episode 2 and it feels like they've been together for months.
One of the best episodes of the show and great writing overall .. 😃
Enjoying it thus far
Joe is the real spaz.
I think the premise of this entire episode is sort of weak.
Dave gave a sober interview insulting the whole staff.
His penance is exposing his tap dancing.
It just all feels so flimsy. Dave wouldn’t do that. Tap dancing isn’t that embarrassing. It all feels false.
What do you think?
... Tubal-Cain
Because two days ago, it was Phil Hartman's birthday, I wanna make a special message in his honor to make sure no one meets the same fate he did.
His tragic death was a great example of how drugs, mental illness and guns make a deadly combination and this is not to victim-blame him but his death would've been prevented if his guns would've been kept inside a gun safe where he would keep the key or combination to himself and in a location where you-know-who wouldn't find it.
My messages is please secure your guns, or any other dangerous items, in a safe location and never share the key or combination to anyone, especially with someone with a history of mental illness and drug use and to those with someone who suffer from these two problems, don't give up. Give them all the help they need for them to conquer their addictions.
Sigh. Guess we can only imagine how Newsradio and the rest of his career might have gone.
I can't get over Bills favorite book being Crazy From The Heat by David Lee Roth. This makes me laugh just thinking about it.
Welp.
It's funny because there is (or was) a deejay on one of the local rock stations here whose name was Joey Pants.
I never actually met him, so I have no idea if he always wore pants or not, but I assume that he did.
The last station they bought, they fired half the staff and made everyone else take pay cuts.
It occurs to me as I rewatch: I personally love summer. I am a wild child best self in the summer. And I love movies about that like “Do the right thing” and I wonder if that’s also tied to my love for this episode.
I think it’s one of the best of the series. That said I could also see this episode being polarizing?
