Hello everyone! I have an issue with my Ford Focus' auto transmission. My mechanic diassembled it and found out the Output Planetary has play in the gears. My torque converter was also shot. The model of the transmission is 8F35. We ordered a brand new torque converter from Ford, but we couldn't find an output planetary so I had to go used. We found one without any play but there is a difference of height in the housing of 2mm. The place I ordered it from claims it is allowed and it gets compensated "due to the thickness of the native bearings". The question is can we really use this part. I suspect it came from a 8F40 transmission. Other than the height it fits perfectly. Would appreciate any information from people familiar with this. Thank you in advance!
Why did I get a call saying my new maverick was ready to pick up, then 3 hours later after getting my check ready I'm told there's a recall with no time frame for a fix and they can't finish the sale. I call customer relations and marketing to see if I can get an incentive to stay because I'm driving a rental at the moment or just take my Check elsewhere. They proceed to tell me that they don't have enough people or resources to help and that management can't do anything higher than what a regular agent could do!!!
I make sure that under the hood is always clean…
I'm hearing excessive road noise through the driver side door. The weather seals look fine and the window is fully closing. Is it possible the door isn't sitting flush? Is there an adjustment that can be made?
Mine has cracked, what is the best way to go about fixing this? I see some covers on ebay, but I didnt know if that replaced my current one or went over the top, or if the easiest was to buy a kit to repair the leather, or just go to a leather repair shop or something like that. Any input would be much appreciated!
Has anyone else experience after it raining, you entering your car and notice your passenger seat floor board is flooded with water? All solutions are welcomed
When I start my car it makes a weird squealing sound. Almost like nails on a chalkboard. It also happens when I shut it off. I just purchased the car 2 months ago - first owner. I am also sure I need to replace the motor in my drivers side window. The window stops rolling up twice before it goes all the way up. I'm a little disappointed in these things happening with a brand new vehicle.
Anyone else having issues like this? 😬
Hello internet!
I start with a caveat that in replies please speak to me as though you were addressing a small child or a golden retriever... I know nothing about cars.
I am looking at acquiring a Ford Explorer - electric version.
Two of the options are SUV and SUV AWD - quite the price difference - can somebody tell me the difference? Worth having?
Secondly. Heat Pump - I have been advised to get this added, again, worth it?
EDIT - For clarity, I live in the UK so the climate is as such, my usage is commuting where necessary (10 miles up to 110 miles depending on client) with a long range journey (200 miles ish) once or twice a year.
Thanks in advance.
Long story short my PCM went up on my F150 that I bought in march. I switched out the USB ports after seeing it would allow my truck to use apple car play. It worked without issue for months leading up to my PCM going up. I went to pick up my Truck yesterday because it was supposed to be fixed and less than a mile down the road it began to behave like it did when I originally had it towed to the dealership. They do not know I changed the USB ports after but I want to be sure that isn’t what is causing the issue. It was as simple as removing the old port and inserting the new one. The ports are from a ford certified seller not a cheap aftermarket brand. Thank you if you have an answer for me on this one.
Hi Everyone
Kindly help me on this one. I guess it is affecting gas mileage as well which is currently at 15L/100 km in city driving.
To me it kind of sense why I have to ask this but I just want to know. Why is the limited trim the top trim of the ford truck segment, shouldn’t it be platinum or the king ranch trim that should be the top trim?
My mom recently upgraded from the 2004 Ford Expedition to a 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and I’m very proud of her for buying her first big purchase but aside from that. Now that she doesn’t drive the expedition anymore I’ll be able to drive it because I recently got my drivers license and I want to know if it is a good first car even though the expedition has the notorious 5.4L V8 instead of the 4.6 even though it did give us a lot of problems before, it still keeps going after 170K miles as long as I actually keep up with maintenance there shouldn’t be a problem anymore right?
Many Fords with this engine were prone to PCM failure. I'm curious which Fords and which model years have the PCM issue or not.
Caught Charlie red handed
Anybody know what the part in the red rectangle is called? I need to replace its rubber insert as it deformed. This is from a Ford Ecosport 2020
BRING IT BACK THE NEW EDGE YEAH YEAH IF YOU DONT like it it;s BLEH BLEH
when i get a car wash, my ford rear window leaks, i have like water droplets on the inside of the window and the seats get a little wet. is there any sealant thats recommended or is this a known issue people have with the age of the truck k?
I recently bought a 2001 f350 with the 6.8l v10. It has 80k miles on it. The truck just shut off while driving on the highway. I've had two mechanics tell me one of the timing chains broke. Im assuming I will need a new engine. The thing I don't understand is how does a ti.ing chain break on a motor with 80k miles? Is this a common issue with the v10?
Larger cup, coffe and what not. Fits well into cup holders.
Looking to buy a used 94 Ford F-150
Seller is asking for $5k KBB price on this is around 2-2.5k, I understand truck prices are naturally higher than KBB so doesn’t surprise me.
Mileage is 120k, by the pictures it looks like the truck is in relatively good condition.
Can anyone chime in on this hat a fair price would be for this truck? Thanks, I’m not very car/truck savvy when it comes to pricing.

I’ve tried resetting the airbag module, is there anything else I could do to get it off. Any common issues that cause it?
Hi everyone
Just got myself a secondhand 2013 Ford Everest 3.0 TDCi, and I’m loving it so far! Drives like a dream with no issues, and it’s been a solid addition to my garage. However, I’ve noticed something that’s got me scratching my head a little.
The engine heats up really fast—like, surprisingly fast. While the heat gauge never goes above the middle point (thankfully), I’ve got a bit of OCD, and it feels like it takes a long time to cool down once I’ve stopped driving. (The gauge just creeped below middle 2.5 hours after stopping)
I’ve already checked the radiator, oil levels, and all the usual suspects, and everything seems to be in great condition. So, my question is:
Is it normal for the older 3.0 TDCi engines to heat up quickly? Or is this something I should dig deeper into? I drove about 370 km with no issue at all this weekend.
Would love to hear from fellow Everest or Ford owners who’ve had experience with this engine. Thanks in advance!
Hey team. Currently working in Alaska, where it is -2f and we have some noxious gasses on the work site.
The truck we are using keeps defaulting to drawing air in from outside, instead of staying on cab recirculation. Can't work out how to make this stop.
Have tried ac on/off, various iterations of footwell/windshield/face blowers on/off, seems like a really terrible setting? Any help on how to get it to stay on recirc?
Thanks.
