Anybody that can shine some light on my issue? My iphone was connected to the stereo for phone calls but wouldn't connect for audio/music. turned off the car, tried again. forgot the device on the car and phone, reconnected. still connected for calls but not for audio. i didn't try the stereo reset yet.
Just wanted to rant a little. I got my Bronco Sport brand new, off of the lot, in 2022. Since that day, I’ve been having issues.
Immediately noticed the reverse brake squeaking, interior panels are falling off, etc. There were also multiple engine recalls that prevented me from keeping the car on Turo (Turo helped supplement car payments while I was working from home).
Fast forward to a couple of days ago, on Thanksgiving Day, someone at a red light let me know that my car was smoking really badly. I start to look and it’s like the car is about to blow! Big clouds of smoke out of the exhaust, temp gauge on dash is normal, and then the car starts to hesitate and eventually shuts off. I ended up having to get it towed. I am due for an oil change, so the next day I take it to a Firestone to get one, hoping that will fix it. They said they won’t touch it because of the condition it’s in. Ford isn’t able to look at it for another 2 weeks.
So here I am, the Monday after Thanksgiving, with a non-operable 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. Oh and did I mention that I’m 2K over the powertrain warranty mileage..and to make matters worse I’m upside down on this piece of garbage, so a trade in is not even viable right now.
I’m so hurt and disappointed, but that’s life.. I really only wanted to rant but if anyone has any suggestions I’m open to them.
full disclosure - its my wife's car and I could think of a dozen other cars I would've preferred over the BS when she wanted it. But its okay to drive, can be fun (we have the BL model). One thing that I find super annoying is the animation when you switch modes. I appreciate the color-coding between normal, eco, and sport - but I don't need it to take time to show me some silly animation, especially when I'm going from normal to sport - it sits there and plays the eco mode animation even though I basically dialed right past it. I want it to change instantly and let me know instantly.
I have a 2021 Big Bend. Does anyone know if it has a pre-out for a subwoofer? Has anyone put one in, and is if there is not a pre-out where is the easiest place to tie into a speaker level signal?
I'm hoping since the Outer Banks has a sub there may be an easy hookup option.
This is honestly really low priority, but I still have my sub from my old car, and I figured why not? I'm not super interested in disassembling the whole dash like I did before to get to the speaker wires on my old car, so I will probably not bother with the sub unless there is a pretty easy solution.
On my old car I used Anderson Power Pole connectors, like you see on the battery and charger of an electric forklift. This made it super easy to unplug the sub when I needed the cargo space, and the cables tucked in the spare tire compartment.
Just got a new 2024 OBX and it’s missing a few things. First, the car mats weren’t included, but the dealership provided them after I mentioned it. Now I’ve noticed the spare tire is also missing.
When I called about the car, I was skeptical about the insanely good deal they offered, especially when they told me it had only 30 miles on it. Another dealership had warned me that this dealer tends to say anything to get you in the door, then claims something was a mistake—and that’s exactly what happened. When I went in person, they revealed it actually had 130 miles, which isn’t bad. However, given that it’s missing items, I’m suspicious it might have been used as a courtesy car, since dealerships sometimes strip parts from those.
Am I overthinking this? Any input is appreciated! Thank you!
Bronco pills! Got them at Home Depot a few years ago. Love seeing them around Christmas.
Happy holidays to all and I hope everyone had an amazing thanksgiving! I’m sharing my idea of decorating my car. I’m not done yet as I’m planning on putting a wreath on the back and the classic antlers and rudolf nose.
Just got my 24 OBX and reading about the window cracking. I always used Rain X on my cars because I like the water rolling off and barely needing wipers in the rain but it also claims to fill in the micro scratches and cracks in the glass. I’ve had a few rock impalements in my old Escape but they were always able to be filled by safelite and it got traded with its OEM glass. Has anyone had one crack with Rain X applied, or could it possibly provide a layer of resiliency to prevent breaking? Any other coatings anyone tried with success?
So 2024 bronco sport, is it safe to leave just an Apple cord plugged into usb port at night when vehicle is off. Obviously my phone wouldn’t be plugged into it or charging, but rather just the loose cable. Or should I unplug it from the usb port each time I get out?
I have a 2023 bronco sport big bend. The gear shifter selector knob (P,R,N,D) is hard to turn and sticking. Has anyone had this issue and what did you do about it? Also I do not eat in my car and only drink water. Thank you for you help.
This thing makes me feel like a kid on Christmas.
Place is Choman in Kurdistan
From hauling the Christmas tree home, the jet ski to the river, the camper for a getaway week, the Bronco sports always up for the task! Happy holidays to everyone!
I have a '22 Badlands and I assumed all the posts from yall about better milage in sport mode were surely coming from people who just drive inefficiently. Well I owe you an apology. I just drove with sport mode on 9hrs on the interstate and I got 1.5mpg better than my normal numbers, using cruise control the whole way like normal. Color me surprised.
Hello,
Just wondering since i would like to get one once available and it seems they wont make it this year. I don't know if they have been currently produced elsewhere.
Per this news report (In spanish) they just started production for 2025 in Mexico Plant https://www.clusterindustrial.com.mx/noticia/8375/ford-hermosillo-inicia-produccion-de-maverick-y-bronco-sport-2025
Does anyone experience in their 2024 Broncos sport that their front seat driver seat is kind of tilted or slanted?
anyone have any recommendations/tips for installing ditch lights to the hood? where did you go though the firewall?
Looking to get thoughts/opinions of owners of 2024 Bronco Sport Badlands or Big Bend models. I’m just looking for an efficient daily driver, but would like some umph behind the pedal. Currently driving a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer
Anyone get any good deals in upgades, accessories, etc.?
2021 Bronco Sport Big Bend, 63000 miles.
I had a “wrench” light pop up on the bronco while in West Texas, which is a power train/4x4 fault light that indicates I need to get service soon. It’s not actually an engine failure, it’s just a potential issue that requires a visit to the ford service center.
Nearest ford dealership is 300 miles away back home. It’s driving fine, albeit with the bronco’s reduced acceleration and speed governor on because of the fault.
Am I going to regret driving home from here tomorrow? I’m not sure what other choice I have outside of going to a non-ford dealer but all the blogs seem to indicate that’s the best option for warranty purposes.
UPDATE: Made it home, light did not turn back on, and had no issues. Bronco is now at the service center. I ran the car in Eco and Cruise Control for the majority of the trip.
First winter with my BS Badlands. I commute into Toronto 2x a week, on the 401 for an hour. Wondering if I should get snow tires? Anyone else in the area with experience?
I previously had a Kia soul which absolutely needed them 😅 but being my first winter with the BS, wondering if need add the extra expense (although I know long term, having snow tires will give a longer life to my all seasons so I suppose it all balances out)
