My two year review of this truck…it is absolutely great for my lifestyle. I got the ‘22 XLT AWD with the luxury and off-road packages. Didn’t get the 4K Tow as I don’t tow anything.
Heres the things I love: the ride comfort. The ride height is good and the AWD is very smooth. My longest road trips were only a max of five-ish hours, tbh. The seats are comfy and on the rare Texas cold snaps, the heated steering and heated seats have come in clutch. I love the storage compartments. I do love the cubby storage under the back seat for l an emergency kit and other items. I previously had a ‘03 Ford Ranger and a ‘16 Focus ST, and I can definitively say I love having a truck bed which has come in handy for moving and the occasional hauls from Lowe’s. I also love having a truck and fitting in just about every parking spot. The gas mileage is also very helpful, averaging about 26mpg with mainly a Highway commute (going with what the dash tells me). I probably spend an average about $130 a month on gas.
Here’s the things I don’t love: the Bluetooth connectivity. Just about every day during the commute it will disconnect once at random unless I’m using CarPlay (I believe I’ve seen ways to fix it on here but I’m too lazy to get it corrected). As many others have said, the plastic parts of the interior leave something to be desired. The color is nice imo but my work backpack has scratched the crap out of the interior of the B pillar. Like others, I’ve gotten some paint chips and dings in spots in the exterior paint. We now have a little one, and the carseat makes the front passenger seat a tighter fit but I’ve had a 6’1” passenger sit there without complaints. (Fwiw my wife has a ‘24 Tiguan so this isn’t the primary family car)
Ive put nearly 34k miles on the truck in two years, done oil changes every 5k with Motorcraft Oil, and it stays on the pavement. It’s bone stock, I’ve had to get the few recalls done on the truck and still have the open one for the backup camera (only one time have I noticed it freezing). So as a guy that hardly does “truck stuff”…this truck has done the job for me and at the price point, I don’t see a reason why I need to change things up. Do I wish I could’ve ordered the hybrid? Yes but it wasn’t an option and at the time I didn’t think I wanted one. Did I need the off-road additions? No, but maybe I’ll find some trails to justify that later on.
Hello! I’ve been a proud owner of a 2023 XLT Hybrid for over a year now, and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s performed.
Lately, I noticed something interesting: my truck automatically engages the parking brake whenever I pull into my usual parking spot/s at my apartment complex—even before I put it in park. Has anyone else experienced this? It wasn’t something mentioned when I bought the truck, but I love it! At first, I thought I might just be hitting the brake myself without realizing it, but my girlfriend watched this morning and confirmed the brake was on without me engaging it.
Most of the time, I have my truck connected to CarPlay, but today it was only on Bluetooth, so I’m not sure if it’s using my Maps or something else. At other places like Aldi, the mall, or any other parking spot, I still need to engage the parking brake manually after shifting to park, so I find this “feature” pretty cool.
I bought a Maverick 3 weeks ago, paid too much for the extended warranty, but after shopping granger Ford, I decided to cancel that, and buy from granger. I called the finance manager, and he told me to send him an email with the bank loan info, and he would cancel it. I did, but didn't hear back from him for 3 days, after which, I got him on the phone, and he told me he had canceled and "already sent that in." Now I'm two days later, wondering how long should I wait before trying to get the cancellation in writing? I've seen no movement on the bank website, but two days seems like it would be too short a time to see a refund. Anybody else cancel their warranty and have advice for me? I had 60 days to cancel, and this is week 4, so there is time, but the clock is ticking.
Edit: the initial 3 day wait included Sunday, so just two business days.
Has anyone gotten a Mav over 100k? If so, what issues did you run into and how much time and money did you lose on it?
I’m looking into getting the 2.0 Ecoboost AWD FX4 4K Tow, and I see a lot of people that absolutely love these little pickups, the engine has been around for some time and it itself has high reliability ratings and I love ecoboosts, previous owner of a 3.5 and 2.3 that’ve surpassed 250k no issues, I’d love to get that long term reliability out of this vehicle, I’d be using it for mixed travel, city and highway and on the farm and the occasional recreational “off roading”
North Carolina to New Jersey trip. I-95 the whole way, followed tractor trailers kind of close which helped stay in electric mode. Right lane through 99% of the trip. 3 of us in the truck with luggage and softball supplies in the back.
As a whole it was a trip from NJ-FL-NJ going down I didn’t do as good with mpg but for the whole trip I managed 43 MPG.
The motor that controls the shutters in front of my radiator has failed. '23 Hybrid.
Going on a road trip in the next few days and it's making this horrible noise. The noise continues for a few mins after the car has shut off. It's constant while the car is running.
How to disable this motor? Dealer can't get me in until the 2nd week of December.
Thermal R&D catback.
I received my maverick XLT in January of 2024 and have made multiple battery issues. Since June i have gone through 3 batteries and the first 2 times Ford acted like it was out of the ordinary and just said it was a bad battery.
But this 3rd time when I brought it to the local dealer they told me that they are waiting for a software update from Ford and finally acknowledged it was a widespread problem.
Not sure how long it will be at the dealer waiting for an update but hopeful for a solution finally.
Okay so I have a AWD Lariat 2.0 EcoBoost. It came with the donut spare. Got a flat tire on the hwy a couple hours ago. The size of the donut made me think twice about even sticking it on. But I did. BAD DECISION. Whole truck starts shaking and the awd system starts freaking out. Now I know you can’t run different diameter tires on an AWD vehicle so why did they make the donut so small. I ended up having to call a wrecker because the truck wouldn’t drive with the donut spare. Is there supposed to be a mode or something to put it in when using the donut? I can’t figure out why in the world ford would put a itty bitty tiny donut spare on an AWD truck. It doesn’t make sense to me at all
First recycling run about 7 large bags came up on 72 bucks.
I want to compare my average to others, I average around 600 per tank because I am in LA county and there is a lot of hills where I live, I was wondering how people break 700 or even 800 miles on a single tank since I barely get 600 (Which is still amazing compared to my last car dont get me wrong)
I’ve been a lurker for a long time just got my 2024 Maverick XLT LUX
Hi All,
In case anyone is wondering, or looking, for an Erickson Over the Cab Truck Rack (1,000lb), I asked the manufacturer to confirm whether it will mate or not with the Maverick.
I'm not an owner, but am considering one, and would like something that allows for longer items to be carried (i.e.: ladders, kayaks, small aluminum / fishing boat) and the response is as follows:
Thank you for reaching out to Erickson Mfg. Unfortunately, I cannot answer that for you. We do not have the capacity to test fit each of our racks on every year/make/model of vehicle that is available. I can tell you that we have had fitment issues on the Toyota Tacoma and Ford F150 trucks. The Toyota Tacoma has its own rail fixture, and the J-hook isn’t compatible with it. The Ford F150 also has a fitment issue with the J-hook that we use. I do not have any additional notes for other vehicles. I apologize that I cannot provide a definite answer to your question.
Too bad as it would be a great rack for that truck.
I drive an XL Hybrid. When I start driving, it seems like the gasoline consumption gauge is not working properly. It is stuck on very low numbers and does not do much better even when I am rolling down hill with my foot off the pedal. Is it because the battery gets charge, because the digital display needs a restart, or because there's truly something wrong with the car?
Had to pullover and close it, happened to anyone before?
I’ve been searching around my town and it seems like the cheapest I’ve found is $550. I’ve wanted to see if that seems about right due to it being a smaller bed.
I'm sure others have asked about this and I really did do a search through the sub but didn't find anything. So what the heck are 'connected services'? Are they extra cost features you buy from ford to add to the app? Thats my best guess so far. When I open the Ford Pass app and click on connected services I get a brief screen flash of the screen (see below and I can't believe I was actually able to capture it!) then then a message pops up saying: "Sorry there are no connected services available at this moment. Feel free to come back at a later date"
Just got mine Labor Day weekend. 2024 Maverick Lariat. Got a little over 2k for mileage. I live in Wisconsin, so it’s seeing no salt. Covered up in heated garage. Staying in hybernation at least till April. Is there something special i should do to battery? Called dealership they told me to put on a battery tender on it. Any other recommendations?
This is the error code. Seems minor, like just an update, but I probably won't be able to take it in for a few days. Can anyone confirm?
Okay so I seen the air compressor that someone previously posted that fit in the bed cubby and was wondering if the 12v access port is always powered or if it’s powered when the truck turns on. Mine is a lariat with the 110 outlet in the rear by the cargo light if that makes any difference. I wanted to get that compressor but hook it up on those ports so I can always have a air compressor in the bed that I could just turn off and on with a toggle switch inside the cubby
How can i monitor the charge of my HVB in my hybrid? Any recommendations on how and what to get?
