Can You Load Mulch with a Bed Rack?

Hey everyone. I have a bed rack on my Mav that I use for lumber, ladders, kayak, road trips, etc. I need to pick up some mulch and I’m wondering if they’ll be able to load it into the bed with the rack installed? First truck, never done this, so wondering if I need to remove the rack or not. Thanks!

Got Mine Too!!

Everyone else is doing it so why not? It's a 2024 XLT and I love it. I've had it for almost a month now and have no issues. I'm getting 45 MPG without really trying. Mostly highway driving for my daily commute of ~10 miles with the last 2 miles in stop-and-go traffic.

The wife and I decided I could get one on a Monday. I visited the dealer on Tuesday. Drove it home on Wednesday. Still amazed I didn't have to wait. I originally wanted either red or blue, but wound up with the Terrain color as that is what they had. Apparently, someone ordered it and changed their mind. True or not, I don't care. If it is, it is their loss and my gain.

I was originally content to buy the XL, but it didn't have power mirrors (silly I know). I got a decent deal on the XLT (has the Lux package) and my wife's credit union had a deal too good to pass up, 1.5% financed for 4 years. Small employee-only credit union so I am not gonna name it.

My only complaint? The dealer. They pushed dealer financing and tried to tell me that I couldn't refinance for at least 4 months. I would have rather have simply gone with my wife's credit union, but they insisted that if I didn't use Ford financing, I'd lose the breaks they gave me. So, got the truck with Ford financing at 8.59% and refinanced at the lower rate before the first payment.

My previous ride was a 2012 Chevy Colorado. Great little truck so we kept it in the family and my son is now driving it. We traded in a 20-year-old Explorer that he was driving so two upgrades in one. :-)

Card Slot Purpose

Ok, I know that this question has probably already been answered so there. I'm gonna ask again cause it's Monday and I don't feel like searching. What is the slot behind the Autohold, Traction Control, Driving Mode buttons for?

Loss of power, Hybrid XLT, No warning lights

While commuting to work today, going about 70, I felt my truck start to decelerate and the acceleration pedal just completely stopped working. Luckily, I was able to coast over to the shoulder. I turned the truck off and on, and it was like nothing happened. I knew some people were experiencing loss of power issues, but I didn't get a single warning light or anything. I've had probably about 4 or 5 recalls done, but have not completed the Instrument panel cluster recall, or the recent under hood fire recall. I'm at about 34k miles. Has this happened to anyone else?

AWD vs Hybrid XLT

I am currently considering buying a Ford Maverick and trying to decide if AWD or hybrid would be better for my needs.

I live downtown in a mountain city and commute 2-3 times to work through a canyon, which is about 60 miles to and back from my place. Lots of uphill and downhill driving with curves. The winter sometimes can get harsh with snow, and driving through the canyon in the snow can get sketch. Also it does get pretty cold.

It would be nice to get those gas savings with the hybrid model because my commute is an expense, but winters where I live can be rough.

Would love your thoughts!

Hello ladies/gentleman

I recently started a business where I need to be hauling ladders and larger tools. I’m also a plumber so this vehicle would be nice to haul water heaters and what not. I have no need for a larger truck and I’ve heard good things about this compact truck. I’m looking to get a new 2023 maverick lariat. I see dealers offering around 36k with the black appearance package. Does this sound reasonable? How much money should I get taken off for it to be worth? Do you guys recommend this vehicle for my description of work?

Thanks all 👍

3D print STL files?

I've heard about the whole FITS thing, but where does one aquire the STL to accommodate it? I'm told that Ford provides it but I'm not sure where to look. Thanks,

Display mode setting not stored

After the most recent update to firmware (I don't know what ver I had), I noticed that the Display Mode resets to "Auto," every start, I prefer "Night." So I have to set this every time I start the truck.

Has anybody else noticed this or found a workaround?

Boosting Towing Capacity?

https://preview.redd.it/mo4vzanq09xc1.jpg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ce01ae4afc0cf21861cc0c77f86bce29ae67b5c

'22 hybrid here. I love everything about this truck other than its 2k towing capacity. It isn't a big deal day-to-day, but it's a bummer like twice a year when I want to haul something.

Has anyone successfully and reliably increased their towing capacity? What are the limiting factors that make it only 2k and what are the biggest "bang for your buck" modifications to raise it?

Joined the club.

There are a few deals on hybrids out there. I found 2 XLT lux black accent packs for $1500 off sticker near me. 20 miles away they are still marking them up 3000.

Buying a car is still such a hassle though. 3+ hours in the dealership is stupid.

Can you lock in price?

I want to order a 2024 XLT Maverick from Ford and have the MSRP cost added packages and then the dealer fee with my x-plan and college student rebate factored in all on the order sheet. Does me signing that lock that price in or do I have to get them to sign off on it as well or get some other kind of paperwork to ensure I don't end up getting charged extra when it finally gets here in about 6 months.

Because I Washed It

Normally, I do truck stuff, and don't do much more than the occasional hose down. This morning however, I got big ideas for some aggressive spring cleaning. I buffed, scrubbed, and waxed, and was very pleased with the results. The universe had other ideas not an hour after I finished.
