2017 reg cab short bed 4x4 265/70/r17. It seems that load range C is the best for towing and hauling, which I do. ~600lbs between me and my tools and my bed cap plus 3500lbs popup camper.
I have like, 6 options for tires on Tirerack that fit the size and load range. Even fewer have the 3PMS rating, which is a necessity for me, as I do a lot of driving around Tahoe (not with the camper).
I really don't want to go up to lead range E because I love the ride quality and fuel economy of my current C-rated wranglers, but the idea of downsizing to load range XL makes me a little bit nervous and downgrading to SL seems wildly irresponsible considering I also do a little bit of off-road driving. Nothing extreme or off-road for the sake of off-roading, but my campsites are frequently separated from the highway by rocky/washesout/washboard/steep/loose/gravel roads.
Is there a larger catalogue of tires I could look through? Do I upgrade my wheel or tire size to find better options? Will XL suffice for driving on rocky or washed out dirt roads a couple of times per month?
Can anyone help me out and tell me what this noise is ? Sounds like it’s coming from the front end. This is a brand new truck I picked it up 2 days ago.
Got two options, looking for a solid daily driver. Which would you go for?
2013 xlt. 5.0 6spd. In the first 100000 miles it's had the following issues in no particular order. Leaking pinion seal, collapsed front brake line resulting in a stuck caliper, Leaking coolant y pipe, Leaking water pump, Leaking trans cooler lines, bad clocks clockspring, dash lights randomly shut off, and crappy lug nuts. On the other hand, I bought a new 2018 hyundai accent base model because my work commute increased and i wanted better mpg and something cheaper to accumulate miles on. In the first 100000 miles it's been to the dealer for 2 recalls, 1 for a security update and 1 for the trunk release in case a kidnapper stuffs you in the trunk. New tires at 53000. Everything else is original.. And everyone makes fun of how cheaply made hyundais and kias are. Not looking to start an argument, just an observation
Has anyone mounted an LED tailgate light bar on a 2024 Powerboost with the tailgate assist? There is a bracket with 2 protruding bolts and I was curious if anyone had a simple and clean solution aside from removing the bracket or mounting the light bar right over it.
I got a 2015 5.0 and I need to replace my CMP for bank one. I can’t find much on its location besides that it’s behind the damn motor, It’s on the passenger side correct??
got about 1500 bucks I can spend on getting my girl some exhaust. stock 2019 5.0 right now, got the bed liner, the floor mats, so now I wanna make her sound extra juicy. any suggestions on what I could get to make her moan a little louder?
thanks gang.
Going to put BDS Fox 3.0 kit, Method MR703 x 5, Nitto Terra grappler 3.0 x 5, and camber fix (spare is the 5th). What should I know to do/not do this?!?
Hi everyone. I recently purchased a new to me 2020 f150 super crew xl stx. It had stock wheels and tires 275/55r20. Found a great deal on marketplace for a set of 20” offset wheels(not sure of the offset) and nitro ridge grappler 275/60r20.
Everything I read online said these should fit no problem but they’re rubbing towards the outside of the inner wheel well. Going forward I can turn the steering wheel one full time around before it rubs, but in reverse I can only turn it a few inches. What’s the easiest/cheapest way to fix this that won’t look horrible.
Hello. I bought my truck a month ago and I normally don’t use the keyless entry: however tonight my partner went to lock the door with the keyless pad and it didn’t work.
I locked the door and tried the code they gave me but the keypad doesn’t work at all.
Is there an option in the settings to turn this on and off, or do I need to call the dealership and let them know the keyless entry is defective?
Thanks in advance
I bought this truck about two months ago with 87k miles and it drives ALMOST perfectly, but 3rd gear seems long and kind of feels like the truck is shifting/changing gears without actually doing so if that makes sense ??? It sounds great but I didn’t buy a warranty so I’m hoping this might be something normal or small? all other gears feel normal, and I haven’t noticed the downshifting into 1st gear issue that I saw as a recall on these trucks, but I’m wondering if anyone has the same vehicle and a similar experience or if I should start saving money 😬
These tires are old and need replacing. I also want to keep the same overall wheel/tire diameter, but go with a smaller wheel. Anyone have any favorite Ford OEM 18” wheels? Aftermarket recs would be fine too, but probably won’t go that route.
The aftermarket chrome trim is going away, so the wheels don’t need to be shiny to match.
Just got the truck last week. Certified used with extended warranty. Potentially still under factory? But daughter went to move the vent and the onion fell off. Would this be covered or would be a exorbitant repair?
Hi all,
I posted recently of my 6-month old 2023 F-150 transmission issues (currently 58 days or 42 business days in shop). I received some great encouragement & advice from many! Thanks again!
With this I worked up the nerve to call Ford on 11/22/24 and open a buyback case.
However, it was denied today, 11/27.
The reason: my case falls outside the lemon law requirements for buyback in KANSAS or MISSOURI because PART of the days out-of-service fall outside the 12 months of initial use.
I purchased this vehicle on 5/25/24. However, it was a loaner with 500 miles that went into service 10/30/23.
I've only owned it since May, but they are using the original date. Is this technically correct? Maybe.
However, this vehicle did not drive right since the day I drove it off the lot. I've tried to get it service several times since purchase, but the Microsoft Cloudstrike issues caused many issues in me getting it in (dealership was "down" forever).
In my opinion, this is total BS based on the timeline below for service.
Currently, it is sitting the shop since 11/4. They recently told me it would get a new torque converter, but then came back and said Ford will be sending a new tranny (new or rebuilt....not for sure).
I won't get it back for another 1-2 weeks.
Purchased: 5/25/24
Oil Change + Requested Repair (During Microsoft Cloudstrike worldwide outage - could not work on vehicle in reasonable time)
Repair 1: Torque converter replaced & tranny rebuilt
Repair 2: New tranny valve body and partial rebuild
Repair 3: Current in pieces - either another new torque converter or possible new/rebuild transmission
Currently 58 days in shop since purchase on 5/25/24
>>>Has anyone contested this type of case with a lemon law attorney? Any chances of getting this considered as a lemon?
Ultimately, I'd like a new vehicle. I want another similar F150. I love what it supposed to be. One that I can have more faith and trust with.
For those considering buying a "Demo", consider that many legal rights & timelines may have started when the demo went into service; NOT when you purchased.
had a quick question it's been getting quite cold where i live recently added a cold air intake to this truck and noticed this whine or whistle sound more hearable at the start of the video after a drive it's gone only happens during warm up. This is normal right? I've seen lots say it's the transmission pump etc but is this that? Thing is brand new only 5500 clicks on her. I do understand lots ask these annoying questions but I'd like to know for sure so I can relax 😂
I know the question on travel trailers is heavily discussed but Ive got kind of a specific question. Im looking at a new camper and Ive been trying to stick to the 30 foot or less rule. However I keep finding ones at 32 or 33 foot and Im wondering if that extra 2-3 feet is going to be enough of an issue to cross them off the list.
Ive got a 2022 3.5 Tremor. Ive calculated all the payload etc when fully loaded so Im good on those numbers. I use an Equalizer wdh with my current trailer and will use the same on the new one.
Proud of my '23 Powerboost. I highly recommend ceramic coating if you're considering it
