So basically, my 2022 Mach-E Select is totaled after hitting a deer
I'm getting 22k for the payout, and was already looking to upgrade to the 2025 Mach-E (most likely Premium trim)
I'd love to lease the 2025 still, but now I'm completely out of a vehicle. I really don't want to buy another vehicle just to resell it again in a few months when the 2025 comes out (and lose more money).
What's the best way to handle this? Should I just lease a 2024 instead?
What’s up with the speedometer specifying that your speed is ‘Ground Speed’? Lol
The digital users manual is tough to navigate. I’m wondering if there is a way to open the liftgate from the cabin, and also is there that foot wavey function where you can open it by waving your foot under the bumper?
Thanks.
My EV tariff with my energy company, EON next (UK), is 27p per kw between 7am and midnight and 6.9p per kw between midnight and 7am.
I have a 7.4kw charger at home so I use the Ford Pass app to set to charge to 80% when I plug in. The majority of the time this 7 hour window is plenty to get it to 80%. However sometimes it not, so if I plug in when I get home for the day, and set it above what it thinks it can charge to it will start charging.
So for example, if I set it to 90% charge, and it’s on 20% when I plug in at 6pm. It will start charging straight away. But that means it will spend 6 hours charging at the more expensive rate and get to 90% well before the 7am price switch. Having cost me far, far more.
To top it off the charge time estimate is massively wrong. There has been multiple times where I can set it to 80% charge, and it’ll sit there saying waiting to charge, starting at midnight. If I set it to 85% it will start charging straight away regardless of time. So I leave it at 80%. But if I wake up through the night at about 5-6am it’ll say charge complete, and I can increase it to 90% and it’ll continue charging at the lower rate.
So my question is. Is there a way I can set it to charge to the maximum but only between these set hours? I know it’s a bit of a small use case.
Is the only way to disconnect from charging is by using the app? I've pressed the button and it stays blue....?
Looks like Ford Canada finally adjusted the Blue Cruise pricing.
Note that there is no option for a “lifetime” purchase, that may be limited to new cars only.
See the screenshot from the Fordpass app
Majority of the time when I get in my mach e.
The seat goes through each keeps moving forward until it’s all the way forward. It’s happens at least 5 times a week if not more as soon as I start my car.
Is there a reason for this?
Proud new Mach E owner! So thrilled with the car (1 day in). I’m now hoping to get some guidance on setting up my level 2 home charger!
-do I need the charging station in advance of an electrician coming out?
-any recommendations on what charger to get?
-any warranty concerns if you do not use the ford-branded charger? Or any other things to avoid warranty-wise?
-Charging time aside (I know level 1 is very slow) would using a level 1 charger be better for battery longevity than using a level 2 or 3?
-Does it make sense to avoid charging every night, and instead just plug in like once a week? Go from ~20% to 80% overnight (using level 2) and then don’t plug in again until back at 20? Or does it not matter and I should top off to 80% every night?
-Do you have any worries about leaving your car while it’s at a public level 2? Like someone pulling it out of your car and stealing some charge you paid for?
-What are some good battery habits to help promote its longevity and get the most out of it?
Appreciate any and all help! So thrilled to have this car!
Can anyone confirm if the Mach-E's Audio System - any variant - handles "HI-RES" High-Resolution Audio? Max Bit Rates?
Typically, I output music from an Android Tablet [bit-perfectly] through a Dongle DAC out to a vehicle's AUX input. Is that an option here, and/or is USB-C and/or Android Auto in play here?
Asking because I'll potentially be driving 4+ hours a day and need the ability to play Hi-Res (ideally up to DSD128) IN FLAC + DSD.
So, I'm going to start by saying up front that I know this cannot be done with current MachEs. And I understand future EVs will have this capability build in.
My question, to hopefully some smart engineer types, is whether it would be possible for Ford to engineer a post-production add-on package that would allow current MachEs to perform this function. What would it take? Is it even possible given the battery design? What would it likely cost?
Would you buy it from Ford if it were made available? Because I would love it and factored against a whole home generator solution, I would be willing to pay up to a couple thousand to have it installed.
I live in Florida and I gotta tell ya, going through hurricane season, it would be nice to have that power available to tap.
I am leasing a 2024 Premium Extended and trying to decide what to do with it. It was delivered to me in April. A week later I was traveling for work and it sat for about 10 days. Came home and it was dead. I figured maybe it was just a 12v issue and since it hadn’t been driven much it had had a chance to charge. Got it plugged in and charged and drove a while to help. Seemed ok. Had been driving it regularly for about 4 months on weekends and then got a warning about electrical draining system warning. Called service and told me to reset warning and see if it was a glitch. Nope happened again so took it in to dealer service(roughly 2800 miles on it, most of which was the drive from Montana to Texas for my move). I dropped it off and…crickets. I didn’t hear anything from the service center for over a month(29 business days) when they said it’s done. Had to replace 12v and do a few maintenance items. I have come to find out the dealer threat leased it had performed service on the electrical before delivery and never disclosed that to me. So here I am. I don’t mind the car but feel like it’s been a hassle and ford has been awful with service, communication and honestly from 2 separate dealers. Do I try to see if they’ll do a buy back, do I have claims for a lemon, or so I deal with it? Keep in mind, I had some negative equity on the trade that rolled into the lease and not sure how that affects options. Would love to hear from you on thoughts?
For years I have used Meguiars Hybrid Paint Coating on my ICE and LOVED IT. It protects my paint for about a year on roof/trunk/hood, and up to two years on the sides of the car. I also used it on my windows, but that protection faded after about a month. Any recommendation for a product that protects glass roof for longer period of time?
I just got 2024 Mach E and wanted to know which software update my car is on? How can I find that out? Also, is there anywhere that I can see what fords latest software update was?
Although I primarily charge at home these public Charging prices are just as (If not more) expensive than gas. #California
I was getting into my car after work. It was around 9:00pm, and I have my car on that auto brightness thing. Maybe I’m saying it wrong, but you know when our screen changes from black to white depending on the day or night for our precious eye sight 😂 Well, usually it’s black on both screens at night but this time it didn’t do what it’s supposed to do. Basically blinded me on the way home 😭
I've been eyeing this car for a while now, I came across this on dealer website recently and I love the yellow with stripes. Amazing look. But I don't do any off-roading.
Any benefits of this car vs other models?

Looking for anyone with experience or advice on buying a used 2021 Mach E under 25k to get the 4k used EV tax credit.
It seems like an incredible deal, but I’m just super nervous about getting hit with some high repair bills.
I’ve owned high mileage used cars in the past and had some bills in the 3k-4k range, but also saved lots of money fixing stuff myself.
I know it’s all a crap shoot, but is a used 2021 with like 40k-50k miles on it a risky bet? I’m not worried about the battery or range as much as I am having some electronics fuck up and I’m shelling out 6k to get the car working again.
Anyone had any large repair bills with out of warranty Mach Es?
Going to look at the mach e select tomorrow. I have a long commute and access to a free charging station at work so i dont really care about the better models. I'm trying to trade in my 2017 Ford Edge that has 127k miles on it, KBB estimated a 4 to 6k trade in value and I owe 10k on it still. The "internet" price on the mach e is 38,850 with 0% APR, but my question is, how low can i get that price down?
Something new and I love it!
I have a 2023 Mach-E GTPE with 14k miles on it. The Mustang’s OTA updates stopped working about a year ago and I spent hours on the phone with Ford Sync Customer Care trying to get my car to update. 1 (833) 389-0848
I took my car into Orchid Isle Ford in Hilo, HI twice now, once for 4 days and again for 3 days. The first time they didn’t even bother to try to service it and I came back and just picked it up. Now the second attempt they say that they don’t know how to update it with the FORScan tool and they have to get an answer from Ford, but they had three days to ask them. I call and call, and have to dig information out of the service advisor and then they are too afraid to tell me that they forgot to service my car or that they don’t know how to fix it. I just picked it up again and told them to research it and call me back, since they won’t give me a loaner car.
What gives? The service experience is not stellar, and the sales process was worse and too time consuming. I love my car but I’m sick of this Ford dealer. It’s also my only option, as here on the island I live on there is only 1 dealer.
Theoretically, if I were to leave my car out in temperatures that were like -20F to 20F without it being plugged in what would happen? I have an AWDe so my range in the city is about 270 miles. What should I expect from that?
My pony has the laminated pony lights that turn on as I walk up to the car but I don’t have the pony headlights. You know the 3 lines in each headlight. I was wondering if I could buy them and install them on my 2023 Select. I called Ford and they didn’t even know what to say because they never seen it done. So I’m going in tomorrow to see if they can give me more information about it. What do you guys think? I wasn’t sure where to go but here. Hopefully I can get some insight and save myself a trip around the corner lol. I seen the 2024 mustang Mach e select with everything the premium 2023 had. Which sucks cause I paid the same amount but for less features. I have modifications on my select and it looks like a GT but it’s not lol. Those lights will enhance the look and feel of my pony, I’d really love to install them :(
Was I taken for a ride? I thought I got the premium care PLUS Ev, but seems to only have gotten the not plus, as such, shocks were not included.
I’ll admit, I drive a bit spiritedly so it should be no surprise shocks and tires are due at 41,240 miles.
All four tires mounted and balanced $1,200 Both rear shocks $1,000
This sound normal for a ford? I’m coming from a BMW, so honestly this isn’t even top ten in maintenance nightmares, but I still thought ford would be a bit cheaper.
Just picked it up! 24 GTPE. Fell in love on the ride home. 😁
One question to the group - messing around with "regular unbridled" vs unbridled extended, and honestly the regular setting had more responsive acceleration. Is that expected? "Extended" also pretty much disabled regen but I knew about that already.
2023 Mach-E Premium (black), standard range, 7K miles, looks well-cared for: $33,500
Reactions? Concerns? Thanks for your help!
After 6 months of no software updates, I called ford. They were surprisingly responsive and efficient, and were able to see that my car is missing the past handful of updates.
Apparently there’s a known issue with some cars, due to a faulty control module that requires reprogramming. This has to be done by a dealership unfortunately. I’m calling to make an appointment.
I know there have been numerous posts on here lately about missing updates. If you want to see if your car is included in this issue; their number is 800-392-3673.
I recently made a post asking about if it matters to limit charging to 90% per the manual if I'm leasing and do not intend to buy it out. I concluded that I won't go out of my way to charge to 100%, but I won't specifically avoid it either.
Anyway, yesterday was the first time the charge level got fully to 100%. I'm addicted to the one-pedal driving mode, and when I left to drive home, the regenerative braking didn't work. As soon as it happened, it was obvious, but it didn't occur to me until I was actually driving.
With the battery fully charged, the reclaimed energy has nowhere to go, so it doesn't slow you down. I think the one-pedal software attempts to compensate for this by activating the friction brakes, but it's not at all smooth.
Of course, it only lasts as long as you're at 100%, but my commute is entirely surface streets with stop signs and lights and low speed limits, so it takes a while to use enough energy to allow the regenerative braking to work.
It's basically a non-issue, but now that I know, it's a practical reason to limit the charge to 98-99% and never go completely full.
I just picked up this Mach-E as a lease from a dealership in South Georgia. Very little charging infrastructure down there so they still were sitting on a few 2023 Mach-Es.
2023 Standard Range Battery Select with the 100A package. Lease payment came out to 365/month for 36months at 15,000 miles/year with D-Plan pricing.
No open recalls, 12v battery state of charge was 82% when I purchased. Haven’t hooked up a scan tool yet to check out the status of the individual HV battery cells after sitting for so long.
I’m one of the lucky ones who received the Tesla adapter and used it successfully today. I have a membership with Tesla and my charging rate was supposedly $0.43 but Ford charged me $0.59, so I called customer service and they told me that I need to uncheck the plug&charge option in the phone app in order to use Tesla’s Membership Rate
