Headlights

Hello all, novice to Reddit and car repairs here. I recently replaced the original headlight bulbs in my 2009 Ranger with new LED ones. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to adjust the headlamps? I’ve been getting a lot of high beam flashing from oncoming traffic. Not sure if it’s because the new headlamps are brighter or if they are out of alignment?

2011 Ranger Sport 4.0 V6, what is this sound?

Haven't driven the Ranger in a few days, now making this weird high pitched noise.

Fuel pump? I had it replaced less than 5,000 miles ago.

Thanks!

Is there a fuse that goes to the radio?

It’s a stupid question, I know, but ever since I replaced the battery in my Ranger, the radio won’t turn on. It’s not like I disconnected anything or messed with it in any way, so I’m just super confused as to what went wrong. It’s a 2000.

Super excessive fuel consumption at idle

As the title suggests I’m have problems with fuel consumption at idle. This morning it burned 1/4 tank at idle for 7 minutes and am stumped on what can cause an issue like this to happen

I should also mention that it only burns excessively at idle and there are no known gas leaks

What size tires

I'm wanting to downsize my tires for a few reasons. One, it's not 4WD so the rough terrain tires don't make practical sense. Two, I can't use 5th gear and 4th loses power. Three, my speedometer is way off. Currently it's running 245/75r16 tires, stock was 215/70r14. I was thinking 235/65r16 highway tires would be a decent compromise but am wondering if it would look goofy with the lift or if there would be a better size that would still look good but be more within my gearing specs.

Help with coolant temp

How’s it going. Recently I just replaced my water pump, thermostat and fan clutch. I had an overheating problem prior so figured I’d do all of it. I am now having a problem with fluctuation of temperature on my coolant temp gauge. Not so much overheating but staying between L and the bottom of the gauge near cold. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem . Did I possibly install the thermostat the wrong side up or down? I also have the shroud for the fan off maybe that could do something but I’d assume not. Thanks

Ford ranger or f150

I have been comparing a 3rd gen ford ranger to a 2014 f150. I like the ranger for its size and practicality. The f150 has alot more room and feels more like a tank. Does the ford ranger really feel that small on the inside along with the smaller rear seats or does it make a difference? I can't decide as I want a V8 but don't need a truck that large for my life

92 dies on me

So my 92 has started dying on me as soon as I let of the clutch when I’m in neutral, what could be the cause? As soon as I start letting off the rpm’s plummet and then it dies unless I give it some gas..

It started when it was cold but it still does it when it’s been in the heated shop overnight.

What gives

I bought a 1998 Ranger last year with 195000 km on it and have been enjoying it greatly so far. Last week my uncle took it to pick up a water heater and made a comment about how he could watch the gas gauge go down while driving. And in looking he used almost a quarter tank in the span of driving around the city for an hour or so. I then drove it home as I live in a small town. Usually I can drive home and back to the city with a quarter tank (roughly 140km). On my drive home it used a third of a tank. I’m curious why I suddenly have such horrible gas use, could my uncle have fracked something up on such a short drive? Is there some known reason my gas consumption would drop that much so quickly? Also should note I’ve been having trouble with the battery lately and will be replacing as soon as they’re in stock but have had to charge my current one almost nightly. Any advice or tips would help.

Cold start idle surge

'99 2.5L 5MT, I've had this truck about a year now and I've replaced a TON of stuff (Plugs, wires, IAC, TPS, MAF, both coils, you name it), and it used to have a pretty bad idle surge almost all of the time. Recently after everything I've done to it, it runs fine when it first start but starts surging again until it fully warms up. The only issue I can tell is that I can hear an exhaust leak on one of the cylinders at the header, would this cause the surge ? Runs like a top at operating temperature. I've sprayed carb cleaner all over the place for vacuum leaks and can't find any, I've had a vacuum tester on it and it pulls a healthy vacuum, I've smoke tested it and can't find any leaks, I'm totally at my wits end.

93 4.0 having acceleration problems

Thrown everything at the poor girl, injectors, pump, gaskets, etc etc etc and it revs right, sounds mean, but takes 12+ seconds to reach highway speeds. I understand these trucks have never been highway speeders but I know this isn't right. I've seen a few things like throttle cables and a new ecm, any other ideas?

seafoam before or after fuel filter change

I've got close to 200,000 miles on my ranger. I'm thinking about running some seafoam through the fuel system. I also have a new fuel filter to replace. Should I run the seafoam? Before or after I replace the filter?

Am I cooked?

My 94 Ranger is in tough shape. Just found this rot and had to stop driving it until I got it checked out. Is this fixable? I love it and If it costs a thousand or a little more to fix I’ll do it. I would like to keep it on the road for another year or more. What do you think? Can I save it or is this irreparable?

Ranger 2000 rwd 3.0 v6 having transmission issues

Coming here for help. Auto transmission 3.0 V6 2 wheel drive truck won’t accelerate from a stop in Drive but if I put it in first or second it will accelerate as normal then when it’s up to speed I can shift it into drive and it goes just fine. Got it up to 70mph. It has very little power in reverse also. Trans fluid was low so I topped it off. No check engine light. Google didn’t give me much other than maybe a TCS?

Need Help

Alright guys I need some help as the title suggests.

My neighbor is wanting to sell his 2005 Ford Ranger STX (2wd, 3L V6, 5 speed auto, clean title, CA truck) and has asked for my help to sell as he isn't familiar with technology. Now I've sold a couple cars already and I work on them in my free time. I know that these Ford Rangers are sought after and what he has is basically brand new. It has 20,000 original miles. Inside is practically brand new with wear and tear on the outside such as scratches in the bed and on the outside of the truck. But no body damage or CEL truck runs good.

KBB states in that condition it's 12k which I think is fairly reasonable but I'm being told elsewhere (friends and family) that it's worth more? So if anyone could give me some more insight on properly pricing this little gem it'll be much appreciated.

I'll try and get some pictures up in the meantime.

Thank you!
