Commmunity Rules |
---|
1. Be respectful of other pony/muscle cars and leave the insults at home. This community is about a common love for Mustangs, regardless of the number of cylinders they have or the appearance mods their owners have installed. |
2. No Advertising. No brand advertising or personal sale posts. A comment leaving social media or where to find you is fine, but this subreddit is not a billboard for your product or self promotion. |
3. Don't downvote a post or comment simply because you disagree with it or don't like it. Do downvote something if it detracts from the discussion or provides no value to the community. |
4. When uploading a photo, always give context. Not your car? Tell us where you spotted it. If it is yours, tell us a bit about it (current or planned mods, how long you've owned it, etc). Photos uploaded without any context will be removed. If you can't seem to get the content into the title of your post then simply comment on it after posting. Either will be acceptable. |
5. Check the latest posts or do a search before posting a news article. Chances are that if it's a big story, someone else could have posted it before you. |
6. Be helpful about spotting abuse and reporting it. Use the "report" feature when you see people violating these rules. Feel free to use the "other" field of that feature to give us an idea why you're reporting the post if it's something not listed. |
7. We reserve the right as moderators to allow the occasional AC Cobra, Ford GT, Classic Cougar etc. This sub is about Mustangs -- Sure! -- but we're not about to overlook some great posts about related Ford products. |
Are you an even bigger gearhead than the rest of us? Check out MustangTech, a community that caters to specifically the performance aspect of your Mustang. All are welcome, regardless of year or engine size!

Just got a quote from Ford for 30k service and inspection on our 2019 Mustang Ecoboost premium. It's $1768!! Is this normal and expected?
Its all around the windshield. Can windshield be taken off, cleaned, and then resealed? Back windshield has same problem and water is starting to leak in. 2017 mustang 5.0
The engine on my 4.0 v6 2010 gave out in November of last year and now that I've got a decent job I can get it fixed. At first when it gave out we all thought it was the Catalytic converters based off the sulfur smell coming from it and the cold exhaust but I had them replaced and the mechanic said the engine was bad. It's vibrating really hard, sputtering, and you can hear it rattling after a few minutes of running if not right away when you start it. I had another mechanic look it over and he said it's the timing chain and head gasket and quoted $2.5k My dad recommended to get the engine rebuilt or find one to replace it with. My father in law says he can send it to Mexico to get it rebuilt for cheaper. I've been fighting really hard to keep this mustang bc it's my first car that I've had since 2019, but now I'm not really sure on what to do. I've sunk alot of money into it so selling it would be a massive waste at this point. Is rebuilding it worth it with those problems and what questions should I ask whatever mechanic I go with?
Hey all been in the market for a new car and was thinking since Im getting a new car why not make it my dream car ! Its a 2022 Ecoboost Premium Fastback However I don’t want to jump the gun just yet , im still pretty young 20 in fact and wanted to get your guys opinion on whether or not this is a decent deal . First thing that stood out to me was the fees and payments . Fees seem a little steep … could i be able to negotiate that ? I plan on getting more information soon but by the looks of it what would you guys recommend and how was your experience getting your first mustang ?
As the title says i picked up a 98 svt cobra abt a month ago. mods done to it that i know of from what the owner said is
cold air intake
vortech v2 procharger
kooks long tube headers going to an H pipe then side exit exhaust
stage three clutch
short throw shifter.
I don't know what else has been done to it as of internals but im hoping some of yall can give me stuff to look out for with the car. I have already changed the radiator fan plug bc it was burnt causing the car to overheat and i have a rack and pinion on the way for it as it is leaking.
Does anyone know if you can create a custom profile to keep Traction control on but have Track steering and Track suspension? I tried to set this up but the Traction Control Off dash light still appeared. Thanks!
Looking for suggestions or links to shops.
I have a 2006 and I need to replace some dim and/or dead running lights. I've seen these LED lights at simpbuilt.com for $OMG each.
I don't want programmable rainbow RGBs, just LEDs than won't brown out from driving on bumpy roads.
I've also seen much more affordable options in the past to just replace the turn signals ans side markers with an LED bulb, or the LED strip. Now that I'm actually in the market for them I'm either having trouble locating them or not sure which ones are direct swaps and don't require extra down voltage setups.
What you got?
Anybody knows why my touchscreen just stays black nothing will load up. It’s been like that for these past 3 days. One day it works and then it doesn’t
Dealership trying to charge me $1700, but all I need is the cat on my 2014 Mustang GT.
What size is it? Can I get a universal one on Amazon at that same size to have my mechanic fit it?
Thanks guys!
I have a 2011 Mustang GT that I bought with 85k miles w 2 previous owners that took very good care of the car and I take even better care of it, I plan on keeping it forever and rebuilding the motor. Does people really judge you based on mileage?
Although they are wildly different cars I’m stuck between a ‘13 convertible GT500 and a ‘21 mach 1 track pack. I will be driving this most days to work (all interstate, some heavy dallas traffic on the way home) I really would love to hear from anyone with experience with either or both cars! Thanks in advance!
The ‘13 Shelby is a dream car no doubt and I love convertibles, I’m not overly crazy about the color combo black/red stripes but I don’t dislike it. The Shelby name holds a lot of weight to me and the fact that it was the last car he built before he passed is special in my eyes.
The bad: the tech is extremely outdated, no back up camera, no blind spot monitoring, solid rear axle likes to slide around which is ok, but that’s a lot of power, I imagine in the rain it’s hard to hold down
The Mach 1, also an iconic although not near a Shelby, I love the color combo fighter jet grey, the interior is updated and has a fun feel to it. The 5.0 motor is as reliable as they come and with all the coolers ect. On its it’s a tank to last a long time. The meaty tires and mage ride have a good ride and can shred corners
The bad: not near the power. I’ve owned several 5.0 so although the power is good it’s not the wow factor torque monster the 500 is, not a convertible, not a Shelby. Less raw old school feel
It’s such a new school vs. old school argument I love them both for such different reasons. It’s a car I’m going to drive almost every day. So daily drive ability and safety has to matter.
Saw this little beauty at the Dover Nascar race this weekend.
Hi guys what causes vaccum to be lower than usual ? Car is a 2020 gt auto if it matters nothing is wrong w the picture just reference while I’m driving I just notice this week my vaccum numbers are different than usual numbers
I need a hard line brake fitting on my 2016 GT, which is a M10x1.5 Inverted flare nut and I cannot for the life of me find one anywhere and the only way to get it from ford is to buy the entire $280 brake line. (I’m in Canada)
