If you're looking for something different to do this weekend!

The # TeamBCPS community is invited to join us at Carver Center at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th. The concert is free to the public and any donations collected will directly benefit Kids Helping Hopkins.

This year marks the 21st year of the Baltimore Music Educators Wind Symphony and its partnership with Kids Helping Hopkins. The ensemble consists of current and retired BCPS educators and community members and is conducted by Dr. Shane Jensen and Dr. Brian Scheckenburger. This year, the ensemble will perform works by Ticheli, Standridge, Barnett, Sousa, among others. The ensemble will also perform Contraption by Catonsville graduate and FJH published composer, Adrian Sims. Additionally, the ensemble will premiere a new work for band by Woodlawn High School student Sean Marshall.

Weird noises from H&S Bakery

There has been strange noises coming out of H&S bakery factory in fells all night, they sound almost like a very loud vacuum. Does anyone know what’s causing them? I haven’t heard something like this in the few years I’ve lived here

Best place to find bartending jobs

Can anyone tell me the best way to find available bartending gigs? Not much is on indeed, is there a better place to find postings?

Has anyone here been a Balt City election judge? How many days do you wind up getting called in?

I see they have a massive shortage and are still looking for election judges. However, unlike in my previous state of residence, it’s not really volunteer once you sign up… you’re supposed to go in on the days they call you. I can serve on primary day May 14th, but I can’t really pass on my real job for a week-plus for the early voting period…. Is that what I’d be signing up for?

For everyone else, they pay you 250 a day to staff the polling stations in Democrat-Republican pairs. Not terrible money for a public service. Just Google Baltimore city election judge training.

Improv in Baltimore?

I'm trying to build social skills and be more out there, I've always heard that improv is a great way to do this plus a good way to meet people. Are there any improv groups in Baltimore that accept outsiders?

What are the most overrated restaurants in Baltimore and why?

Where have you dined here that made you think the place was over hyped? What about it didn't meet your expectations?

Found BIG white w/ black ears dog near York & Rossiter Ave (Winston Govans neighborhood)

Found dog on 500 Rossiter Ave - he is a large, white Labrador + pittbull mix? Black ears, and black spot over left eye. Collar but no tag with owner phone, address...

Not fixed. We have him in our backyard now... if he is yours, or you think you know the owner, please respond to this msg... we have two dogs and I don't think we can keep him overnight.

will post iphoto as soon as I figure out how...

Antiques in Baltimore? Frank Jaworski & Sons furniture (early 1900s)

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone knows of antique shops that carry woodwork and furniture that could have originated in Baltimore. My husband's great - grandfather came to Baltimore from Poland in the late 1890s, and around 1920's had their own business called Frank Jaworski and sons, located on 2801 O'Donnell St. I was wondering if anyone would still have any of his furniture.. I'm not sure the chance of finding something he created, but it would be so very cool if we could find something!

Driveway Install - Permit or Not Required?

Background for this one - we are looking to install a driveway on our property. We have an existing curb cut we share with a neighbor, both are single family homes, and we will not be altering the sidewalk or curb. I'm getting differing results on whether or not a permit is required to basically pour the 10' by whatever driveway up to the sidewalk. Some contractors are saying yes, some are saying it isn't required.

We have a neighbor that would 100% call the city if she knew it would negatively impact us, so I'm trying to do this the correct way. I have not yet called the city, as I work in an industry that deals with the permit office and it's always a headache getting answers out of them.

So I'm curious if anyone else has been down this road?

Settled In Canton Yesterday

Just closed on a home in canton yesterday. Moving from a nearby apartment so trash was never an issue. Didn’t see Trashcans at the house, but also never really thought to confirm.

Could anyone share the process for getting set up there? Is there a process?

Moving company recommendations?

Anyone have any moving companies they’d recommend? My partner and I are moving from our high rise apartment in Charles Village down to our new home in Riverside.

Need someone who can dissemble and transport some larger furniture items

Has anyone tried the food at El Taquito Leon ? not the food truck but the brick and mortar location in Rosedale?

TBH I've also never tried the food truck... but is the food here a solid contender for Mexican in the area? I always usually end up at fiesta Mexicana or la tolteca.. but I like having options.

Baltimore’s best breakfast taco

Having a debate with friends about the seeming lack of good, casual breakfast tacos around Baltimore. Leaving Golden West out of this, where do y’all get yours?

Parking garage near Arrive?

Can any verify if there is a parking garage close to the Arrive Inner Harbor apartments? Is it worth it? I’m trying to decide on a place near the harbor for next year and parking is usually the friction point. Thanks in advance.
