Speeding ticket

A few months ago I got a speeding ticket that was 92 on a 65 mph. I was driving on a Sunday and there was medium traffic, in the left lane, it didn’t even feel like I was speeding that much it just kinda felt like I was driving along with the flow of traffic. It was summer and the windows were down to give you the vibe. It wasn’t like weaving in and out and rushing through traffic.

I was speeding when I noticed him but I didn’t see if I was ever actually up to 92. I can say I was driving in the 80s in the left lane on the highway.

I will say this was my first ticket at aged 29 and I learned my lesson from it, and now I always check when I’m going down a highway or any road to make sure I’m not cruising at like 80 something lol.

Anyway it says the speed was on the radar gun so it seemed like there wasn’t anything to fight. It’s a ~$250 ticket. But everyone told me to appeal anyway. I don’t have any other tickets but I have received a written warning before years ago, so idk if that’s on my record.

I also had a ticket thrown out once because I was in an accident (that was found to be completely not my fault) and the cop wrote me a ticket before even talking to me, then apologized, and said “you’re going to have to appeal it, I’m sorry, I already wrote it” so I don’t know if that looks bad too. It was a hassle and I only let it go because he was extremely apologetic and kind.

I’ve heard it could be thrown out if it’s my first offense, which it is but I don’t know if it “technically”is?

Any insight is appreciated lol thank you!

Cited for window tint by MA State Police, even with a waiver

Hey all, a bit annoyed + confused and would like some advice.

I have a documented eye condition of which light sensitivity is a condition, and I was approved for a MA tinted glass waiver which allows darker than 35% tint on all windows besides the windshield.

I have the approved waiver that was mailed to me from the RMV that says "keep with your registration" certifying that I am permitted to have such dark tint... and it's also visible to me online on the RMV website under the section about registration of my car.

Yesterday I was pulled over by MSP for tint that was too dark. The interaction with the trooper was brief and respectful, and I informed him that I did have the RMV medical waiver for the tint. He took the waiver back to the cruiser with my license and registration.

He returns back to my car with a $260 citation for the tint. He says he is giving me the ticket because "even though you do have a waiver, it could be fake and you can go fight it in court, if it's legit then they'll throw it out"

Really? What is the point of having the waiver if it is still going to end up in this hassle? Why doesn't he tow my car and charge me with driving without a licence because it's possibly fake as well?

I'm a full time college student and work full time. I really cannot afford (or able to without effecting my grades in class!) to take off a big chunk of the day to go to court.

Is this going to keep happening? WTH.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have experience working with “The soulful pet” photography?

I recently applied for a giveaway for a photography session with my Guinea pig, and won! Does anyone have any experiences with this company?

I filed for unemployment and got a message that said "(DUA) has received information that may affect your claim"

what does this mean? I need this unemployment or ill he homeless. I'm hoping it's just a standard message they send to everyone just to give us all a chance to fill everything out to the best of our ability.

it says:

"The Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) has received information that may affect your claim for unemployment benefits. Because of this information, DUA may redetermine your eligibility for unemployment benefits. If you are disqualified from receiving benefits, you may have to repay benefits you have already received.

This is your opportunity to provide evidence and information in response to the new information DUA has received. If you wish, you may have an agent, legal counsel or advocate help you respond."

I can't afford an agent, counsel or advocate to help me respond but I'm confused. I haven't received benefits yet anyway but they've calculated what I should get, and had this message with a link that sent me to the part of the application that asks for my job duties and circumstances of my discharge.

are they implying that there might be conflicting claims between myself and my employer? how do I even prove that what I said was true? what happens if my employer doesn't want to pay out?

for context I took home a piece of food twice that were meant for the trash, and I ate like an apple or something before going to pay for after my break. I have always gone above and beyond in my job and only ever received positive feedback, as I know many coworkers would attest. I also dont believe I ever did anything i knew was wrong, and especially not after if I was made aware that it wasn't allowed. I hope that makes sense. but would any of that disqualify me from receiving unemployment? sorry for the long post I'm just panicking here

44 yrs old. I’ve never had an Italian Sub. Grew up on the South Shore.

I’m visiting family & I’m ready to try an Italian sub. Where should I go? Not looking for crazy adds. Some classic oil, vinegar, lettuce, tomato on top the meats & cheese.

I know I’m gonna get roasted here. I was just a steak n cheese/chicken parm guy growing up!

Who’s got a great Italian sub?!

How many Cybertrucks are there in MA,?

I saw one in the Franklin BJ's parking lot today, I also saw one driving around Ashland not too long ago. I'm wondering if they might be the same one? There can't be that many of them with MA plates in the Metro West area.

Oh- Ugly thing. Other than status is there any reason anyone would want one of these?

MassSave rebate

Hi everyone, We had a home energy assessment done with MassSave and qualified to have 15 windows replaced. Got a quote from a contractor and applied for the HEAT loan (0% financing over 7 years). HEAT loan was approved for the full amount less the $75 per window rebate also offered by MassSave, because in order to get the loan the windows had to be “Most Efficient” in the NE region and those same windows get the rebate. Had the work done, submitted the info for the rebate. Now we’ve been told by the people who approve the rebates that the windows don’t qualify. We’re pissed because if they didn’t qualify, the HEAT loan shouldn’t have been approved (and we would have had our contractor find windows that did qualify). So now we’re out $1125 that we were counting on getting back (and really don’t have to spare, need it for childcare!), because someone in the loan office must have effed up. Has anyone else had this happen? Know of anything we could do? Anyone to call? I’ve been back and forth with the rebate people for weeks but they won’t budge. (Sorry for formatting; on my phone.)

RMV/ Learner’s permit Exam/ cannot access profile

I went to the RMV to submit my documents in person and they gave me a couple of printouts with instructions to take the learner’s permit exam online.

When I try to access my profile it asks me for License/ Permit/ or ID number to log in. On the receipt, the SA number is starred out. So, I’m not able to log in. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

NH Political Ads

How do we stop this fucking nonesense? Its Craig/Ayotte now, it was Sununu then, itll be someone other pair of jerk offs next election cycle. Its seriously invasive at this point. Do we need to start an initiative petition and get the fucking attorney general involved? Do we protest outside boston tv stations? Do we go to New Hampshire and clogs the polls to make a point? We have the technology to localize ads.

Dont get me wrong, New Hampshire is a great state with great people and history. They deserve elections like any other state. With that in mind, how have NH politicians been the only ones to not figure out that one of the most expensive ad markets in the country, where a VAST majority of its viewers cant even legally vote for you, is a really bad investment move? Almost 0 ROI

Ive seen "Dont Mass Up New Hampshire" signs in NH. Great funny slogan. Is it some sort of reverse psychology from them where if I hate their political ads enough I wont go visit?

Never once have I seen a CT, RI, ME, or VT political campaign ad. I dont even think Ive seen a Liz Warren ad this year. God dammit.

Is there any way to get out of employer-mandated direct deposit?

I just learned that this was the law in Massachusetts, and having never used direct deposit before, am kind of worried about this being enforced on me in the future. Does anyone know a way to get around this law / opt out without switching companies?

I just purchased a car and the owner had a valentine radar detector. I’ve never owned a radar detector but the wiring is all there. How useful are they in Massachusetts?

How much does my single vote really matter for local issues?

I misunderstood some of the questions on the MA ballot when I voted today, which led to me voting on something “wrong” — how much does my vote matter for this? I’m so worried now that my one vote is going to change the education in MA for the worse :( Thank you! I legit can’t stop thinking about it and how I wish I could go back to change my vote!!
