Are you able to just walk out of finals when you finish, say you are done in the first hour or so. Can you just turn it in and leave?(freshman)

What’s the probability of a full class having an open seat open?

my classes starting next semester are going to begin 8 am and are going to end at 6:30 pm almost everyday. As a commuter, that is going to be hell for me. I can’t even switch my classes around easily bc a lot of the classes I’m taking have only 1-3 sections.

There is alternative section to one of my classes in the morning that works perfectly for me, but it’s full. I tried to email the dean to get an override into this class bc of my situation, and surprise surprise, they don’t care.

Based on your guys experiences, is there a chance that one person might change their mind and drop the class before the semester begins?

Finals

What are finals like at wentworth. Is it just like any other exam with the same teacher in the usual classroom or are they in different classrooms and more heavily proctored?

MacBook Pro

Hey- is a MacBook Pro M3 a good laptop for cybersecurity and computer science program? I keep hearing about Macs not being great with some engineering softwares but wasn't sure if the same applied to my majors. Tks

Significance of coops?

Like my title suggests I was curious if any recent graduates can attest if a coop helped significantly in getting a job once you graduate

Would you transfer from UMB to here?

Electrical engineering freshman on track to get all A's this semester (including calculus and engineering), also got all A's in the 3 summer courses I took. In the event I'm not admitted for NEU, BU, MIT, or Tufts, should I go here or stay at UMB? I feel like I've got to get out of here lowkey. I'm 26 and already have a career, in classes with teenagers who refuse to participate or do their work on time. I also work at and live near MIT so Wentworth would be an easier commute; I could finally get rid of my car.

TCG Club

Is anybody interested in creating Trading Card Game Club with me, I'm thinking about Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh, but I'm open to any suggestions that people would like to add. We'd be focused on teaching and playing TCG Games and possibly holding tournaments every once in a while. I haven't fully thought out all the details pertaining to meetings and such but I'm open to a lot so please let me know.

Submitted EA application but forgot to send SAT scores, do I have a problem?

As the title says, I submitted my Early action application last week, but when sending my SAT scores I missed WIT. I just sent them, but will this effect my application?

Electrical Engineering Questions - Are the professors good?

I am considering the school pretty heavily but see a lot of negative feedback about the professors.

The small class size is a big plus for me, and since electrical engineering is pretty theoretical the idea of having hands on learning to retain it is pretty enticing.

I see lots of comments about professors but don't see anything specific from those who were in the electrical engineering program.

Anyone who's an EE major, or has taken EE classes (Including things that may not also be specific to EE- like math classes) able to provide some insight? If im paying 40k+ a year I'd like to have good teachers.

As well do you feel this is worth the money education wise over community college to state school, does it live up to the hands on experience?

Did I choose good majors?

I am not attending WIT at the moment but as of next year I will be, I chose Cybersecurity and Computer engineering as my majors and I wanted to know if those are majors I should look forward to, should I be expecting anything?

Why isn't there a spot on the Common app to say if you are planning on applying test optional or not.

Am I supposed to send my SAT scores straight through collegeboard without telling them anything?

Carpool from South shore to WIT

I currently drive from Norwell to WIT Monday through Thursday, and spend anywhere from 1-2 hours driving to school.

Does anyone know commuter students from the South Shore that’d be willing to carpool for HOV access?

Housing for an upcoming sophomore

I'm wondering what kind of housing should I reasonably expect to be offered as a sophomore. My friends and I want to dorm together (4 people in total) and we were looking at 610, 555, and 525 Huntington. 525 looks too nice with the singles to fall down to sophomore level but idk. Which of these, if any, are usually available to Sophomores?

Research participation opportunity near Wentworth

Hi all, I’m writing from Massachusetts General Hospital, where I work in research on obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Symptoms of OCD include obsessions (i.e., distressing and intrusive thoughts that keep coming back to you) and compulsions (i.e., repetitive behaviors that you feel compelled to do). I wanted to pass along an opportunity to participate in a research study that may be of interest to any of you who experience these symptoms and notice they are causing impairment to your life. The research study involves 1 virtual intake assessment lasting 2-3 hours and 2 in-person visits (lasting 3.5 and 2 hours, respectively) on back-to-back business days where you complete a fear learning computer task while we measure your brain waves (via electroencephalogram or EEG) and the sweatiness of your palms (via skin conductance) and administer a noninvasive form of brain stimulation (i.e., transcranial direct current stimulation or tDCS). You will be compensated $300 for your time upon completion of the study. If you are interested in learning more, please visit our website (https://mghocd.org/ocdfearstudy/), and if you are interested in participating, please fill out this 5-min survey: [https://redcap.link/x8d149fp].

If it looks like the study may be a good fit, we will be in touch with information about next steps! Any questions can be directed to mghocdfearstudy@partners.org or (617) 643-0850. Thanks so much and feel free to share this post with friends/family.

Should I change my major from cybersecurity to mechanical engineering as a junior

I'm currently junior taking classes for cybersecurity. My interest in high was mostly computers and robotics when I got ready to apply for colleges I then became interested in ethical hacking and decided to major in cybersecurity. However, my 2 years hear at Wentworth I've learned that the computer science professors are really hit or miss and it mostly up to you learn the material on your own. Additionally, the school does not offer any special cybersecurity certification courses for students to take meanwhile I believe Mechanical Engineering students get to take a certification for Solid Works.

Please feel free to write what you think. Any advice would help.

Graduate application

Hey guys so I submitted my application to wentworth Masters program for CM back in July for and till now my application is still under review and pending decision. I get that the admissions committee gets a shit ton of applications to review but from July till now and still nothing ? I’ve followed with my counselor and it’s always something unexpected. Can anyone relate to this or am I only one that’s seems to be dealing with this ? Note this is for Spring, 2025

Information Technology

Anyone currently in this program I heard it was new and if any students are taking it how is it overall in terms of hands-on labs/activities, professors teaching, and the co-op internships for this major? Any comment about this would be great.

(Sorry for making so many post in this subreddit… I just skeptical about this place to be honest so I have a lot of questions.)
