I’m planning an afternoon/evening out this weekend with a friend and trying to decide between Snowport, SoWa Winter Festival, or Winter Fest at Hood Park. I haven't had the opportunity to visit any of the three yet since I've been out of state, but would love to hear thoughts on the three. Thanks!
I would like to get a gift card as a Christmas gift for someone who loves espresso martinis. Personally, I don’t drink, so I’m hoping the good people of Reddit might be able to recommend the best spot in Boston to get one.
Thanks in advance for the help.
so the city says only 9% of the population is hispsnic but thats like most of what i see besides haitians i see a whole lot of brazillians and el salvidorians seems like more than 9%
Hi, so i am coming to Boston with my wife for 5 days at the end of Jan, looking for some tips on things to do - already looking at the Bruins vs Rangers game and the Celtics vs Bulls (wife isn't infused with joy on these).
We are most likely renting a car so we can go to Salem, what else should we do?
visiting Cambridge is on the list (I am from Cambridge... the original one) so things to do there would be good.
I have been recommended by a friend about going to Acadia national park but that feels a bit of a trek as its the better part of 5 hours driving each way, which feels like a huge chunk of time for a shortish trip.
I have googled this and you get the usual fen way park tours etc.
gonna be staying with a bunch of relatives in the bit of dorchester im told is near umass boston.
ig im more into solitary stuff, including but not limited to:
but that's just my preferences. what do you, as locals, go to to have fun in boston? or just a cool place that u wanna cross off ur bucket list. and this is kinda lame but bars n alcohol n stuff r off the table.
n also another extremely lame thing but i dont think i get along that well with the aforementioned relation so im also tryin to meet people? im into analog photography, n something on my bucket list is gettin 2 know other people who are queer, since ive went my whole life bein trans in a culture that heavily frowns upon that kinda thing.
note: i dont know how to drive.
thanks!!
A picture from seaport I took a month after I moved here. The city is extremely beautiful and I’d love to take pictures of some other cool places here, any suggestions about where?
So far my favourites are
I played DND before but the ones I played with dismantled during quarantine, recently got back into it so I'm looking for groups to play in person! Anyone know where I could go to look for some beginner friendly campaigns for dungeons and dragons?
Anyone aware of 2-4 days of city tours in boston? I would love to explore more in the city and also wanted to meet people, I don’t have any group with me. So, I was hoping to get into one of the city tours that already takes in a group of people. Maybe even some hobby/activities/workshops?
I would appreciate some suggestions on this, thanks!
I also wouldn’t mind anyone joining in! Let me know if you wish to catch up! Cheers!
(Probably after 25 December?)
Hello everyone, I’m thinking of moving to Boston / Cambridge from LA for my job. I’m in my mid 20s and would prefer a place that has good vibes and social scenes. Would you recommend renting a place in Boston or Cambridge? Workplace would be outside Boston so I’d be driving to Wilmington. Need suggestions please. Budget is around $1500 for a private room
I am new to working at MGH and heard there is a shuttle that stops at north station and goes to the hospital/ Yawkey center. Is this true? Is it reliable? Thank you!
This is a long shot but I had to drop off a Trader Joe’s bag of shoes to store at my friends apt today and it seems like they’ve been picked up/lost from the lobby between 2-5pm today. If anyone has seen them or accidentally took them pls pls reach out. I am a broke college student and these were basically all my shoes😭
Everyone post your snow pictures and maybe we can summon a blizzard with our collective nostalgia.
My bday isn't until the spring but I like to plan things in advance so does anyone have suggestions for a restaurant for dinner with my girlfriends? I'm in my mid-twenties so ideally somewhere we can take cute pictures and good food (of course!). Thank you :)
So I’m moving to the area and I’d be getting on at Griggs to do my trips on the T, but I’m not sure how I’m supposed to get a ticket since it’s not a stop that’s listed on the mTicket app (among other minor stops I’d need) and I know there’s nothing available at the stop itself. I’ve seen that cash/card doesn’t work on certain days and I don’t wanna get screwed by just hopping on the T on the wrong day. What do I do (if anything) to get a ticket in advance and how do I navigate Fare is Fair days when cash/credit isn’t allowed?
Edit: I’m aware I mixed up the two types of transport now, thank you for letting me know I can just tap my card and for not roasting me too hard.
