Looking for Roommate

Currently living in downtown, around 10 minutes walking distance from T, less than 5 from Main Library. Looking for a roommate, preferably in their 20s. I live on the second floor of a duplex. Apartment comes mostly furnished (minus your room). Downside is that there is no washing machine on site, so you’d need to go to a laundry mat. Closest is around 10 minutes walking. Rent would be $1000. Utilities would be split. Currently only pay for gas and electric. Landlord pays for water and trash.

Update: thank you for trialing our business

Some of you may have seen our post a couple of months ago where we were looking for people to trial our business, for those who didn't here's a quick rundown. A friend and I thought it would be cool if you could turn any photo you want into a paint by numbers kit. That way you can paint your dog, cat, partner, the whole family or whatever you want without having to be an artist.

We looked up the idea and found that the current stores in the market were ridiculously expensive or only offered kits without a frame or with a DIY frame (who wants to put together their own frame? Don't you just want to open the box and start painting). So we looked around and talked to a bunch of suppliers and eventually we were able to produce custom paint by number kits cheaper then anywhere else and already framed.

We reached out to you here on Reddit asking you to test them out at cost price and we've received some amazing feedback as a result. Thank you if you were one of our OG customers! We want to continue to grow and get more feedback and reviews though so we're re-opening the offer in case you missed it the first time around or you want to order some more kits.

You can use the code "COSTPRICEREDDIT" to get our kits for cost price (our margins are pretty slim right now, we want to be as affordable as possible). You can get up to 4 kits at that price so feel free to buy a few and plan a date night, family activity or just get your Christmas shopping done early. If you've already ordered with that code it has no been reset so you can get the deal again!

We look forward to getting more feedback and hopefully you'll love our kits enough to spread the word to your family and friends!

→Good Vibes Connect←

Hey what’s up, i’m a 30ish year old male, no kids. Loner at heart but I enjoy being around people that match my vibe and energy. I’m straight, and have no desire seeking anything outside of that, respectfully. Very selective with my time and whom I give it to. Prefer a friday night playing video games than going out. (Madden,2K,COD,RPGs) Actually, I prefer my whole weekend to be that way going into the work week. late night movies is cool. traveling is cool when I have the time. great cook. I don’t drink and I don’t smoke cigarettes either and I honestly don’t like being around people who do smoke cigarettes, it stinks 😂. 420 sometimes. My go to’s is working out, playing video games, shopping/getting fly/looking fly, and experiencing life in all aspects you know, growing as a person. INTJ is my personality type. But yeah, i’m just seeing if it’s any people (male/female) out there like me just “thuggin” it in the world by themselves. Lets connect. Let’s make a difference in whatever we want to make a difference in.

Want to play Santa or Mrs. Claus December 8

Hi,

The Metrowest Symphony is having a holiday pops concert on December 8 in the concert hall at Framingham State University. We're looking for someone to emit a hearty "Ho Ho Ho" or two, pass out candy canes to the audience, and generally be a right jolly old elf (or elf-ess). Compensation: free entry to a fun concert! It's a big plus if you already have a Santa suit. If you know anyone who's interested, please DM me. Happy holidays!

Texas plates

Has anyone else notice an uptick in the number of cars driving in town with Texas license plates? It seems that I see more of them than some New England state plates. I can’t imagine that Adessa is bringing them over 1000 miles.

Elf bars

I’m visiting from Brooklyn and I managed to quit cigarettes and switched to elf bars (yes I know this is also not good for me but small steps!). However mine is about to run out and I just found out that they are not sold in Massachusetts.

Are there any places that sell them anyway? I’m staying in Framingham. I would love to avoid driving to New Hampshire at all costs! Maybe DM me because I don’t want anyone getting shut down or in trouble

How do you find part-time senior care?

Curious what everyone else's experience is here. My dad needs some mobility support as well as help with light chores and meal prep. I've been looking into options the past few weeks but it's been a bit overwhelming.

Has anyone else been through this lately? Have you gone with agencies or are there other smaller/grass roots services that might be a better fit?

trying to remember the name of a store at the natick mall (early 2000s)

UPDATE: for anyone invested I figured it out. It was a store called “Rugby” which is apparently by Ralph Lauren 🫶🏻 thanks for the help

The store was maybe near gilly hicks, but it was a preppy fashion store with all the mannequins holding either tennis rackets or croquet or lacrosse. It was not hollister or Lacoste… something not as popular.

Anyone work at the natick mall in the early 2000s remember this store?

help a runner out

I’m training for a race that has some uphill portions and was wondering if there are any hilly streets or maybe stairs I could use near downtown? I think there’s a few stadiums, but can the public use those areas freely?

Not looking for a regular haircut.

I've(27m) been to Title City barbers, I've been to knockouts, and some hairstylist available at my work. None of these guys offer a consultation that talk about styling options and analyzey hair to find the right style.

Im looking for a makeover. My hair is longer than ever and I don't just want a "fade"(what I usually get). I wanna be and to style it and I just don't know how. I don't know what style would suit me and for some reason, all barbers just decide to give me a fade. Maybe I'm not communicating well enough when I say, "I usually get a fade, but I wanna try something different." Because I still end up getting a fade. Smh.

If I go to any of the places I mentioned before, I for sure will just get a "hmm maybe some off the side and some off the top" like what haircut isn't that? I want someone to be able to tell me what options I have with the hair I have and show me what styles I could use.

Anyone know a place that can help me?

TLDR: I don't know how to choose a haircut myself and I need a barber who can help me decide.

Looking for people to trial our business

Have you ever wanted to have a painting of your partner, a family portrait, your dog or whatever your favorite photo is? I always loved the idea of painting but unfortunately I'm not the best at it. A few months ago though a friend and I came up with a cool idea, what if you could turn any photo you want into a paint by numbers. That way anyone can paint, anything they want.

We looked up custom paint by numbers and found a few Etsy stores selling them but they were way overpriced and most of them didn't even come with the canvas on a frame. So we looked around and talked to a bunch of suppliers, eventually we managed to produce custom paint by number kits cheaper then anywhere else and already framed (you can still order them without a frame but we found most people want them ready to go out of the box).

Long story short though we're trying to grow and get more people talking about us. So we decided it would be a good idea to reach out to some local subreddits and hopefully you'll enjoy them enough to share your experience :)

You can use the code "COSTPRICEREDDIT" to get our kits for cost price (our margins are pretty slim right now we want to be as affordable as possible). You can get up to 4 kits at that price so feel free to buy a few and plan a date night, family activity or just get your Christmas shopping done early.

Firewood by the bundle

Used to scoop my firewood at Robinson's in Saxonville (RIP). Was at home depot this week and they didn't have any. Would like to avoid getting a cord or half cord since it's overkill for my needs.

Any recommendations?

Fronto

I just moved to the area and love how progressive the city is with all the dispensaries in and near by but where can a girl get some fronto leaves. Personally don’t like backwoods/dutches or grabba.

Ok, how much do you ACTUALLY spend on groceries per month?

I've recently started budgeting my money, and to my shock I found out I had spent up to $500 in groceries on some months. I am a single 20 something woman and own one cat. I feel like this is a lot but IDRK. I mostly shop at Market basket and sometimes BJ's and Target. I would love to see how other Framingham residents' grocery habits compare to mine, pls share deets below!

Best Apartments? - Relocating to Framingham, MA from NC

Hi! I am a 28 year old sales professional and I just got a promotion that is relocating me to Framingham. Currently considering Bancroft Lofts, Union House, The Buckley, Modera and Avalon. Can anyone share real experiences? I’ve read conflicting reviews and may not have time to view each place before needing to have a lease signed for the job.

Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I will be commuting into downtown Boston but also through most of eastern New England via car. I may take the commuter rail some days but I will be doing a lot of driving to eye doctor‘s offices for my job.

Rt 9 bridge yesterday

Does anyone know what happened at the Rt 9 overpass yesterday around 11am? I heard a potential jumper but there’s been nothing in the news and given how backed up traffic was, the amount of emergency services etc, you’d think something would have been mentioned by now.

Barbershops

Brand new to the area, looking for the best barbershop in the city. Particularly looking for a shop that you don’t have to book an appointment weeks in advance to get in. A few days is fine but trying to book weeks in advance is difficult. Also, looking for a barber who is talented with fades and new trends, and one who uses a straight razor on hairline, neck and beard. No lines in the fade! Obviously cost is important but I’m willing to pay more for a better haircut.

Thanks everyone
