I bought it about 2 years ago for 12k, my first car and just wanted a small SUV and this was the only thing in my price range. I didn't know anything about cars and I wasn't aware of it's reputation. Last month I had to have the transmission replaced which cost me $5000 - I'm a uni student and this was literally all my money, so I'm terrified this is just the beginning and something else is going to happen. Which I will not be able to fix and I really need access to a car. What else should I be aware of or looking out for?

Hey guys the iron lion bug was itching as the vks been off the road for nearly a year now so I picked up a factory manual 5 litre vr s pac to clean up/mess around with. The red moulds around the car have oil/buffing compound and other shit over them. Any suggestions on ways to bring them back to life? Don't want to fork out money on new moulds as people are charging an arm and a leg for them.
