Let's face it, Al looked rough out there last night, and Kornet wasn't much better. A lot of people default to giving Tillman some burn, which I think is a pretty good idea, but he seems like a guy that can't last extended minutes due to conditioning/knee problems.
I think we should try Queta a bit if Mobley or TT is out there. Mobley struggles a lot with big, physical bigs and Queta is that. I know he fouls a lot, but I think the Celtics should try Neemias a bit.
What do you guys think?
For starters I’m glad we won. Felt like we left some points on the table with a few missed FTs/3’s but that’s me nitpicking. Our defense could’ve been better, specifically with Jrue getting lost in a few switches and Horford being hunted. Other than that, defense was fine. Tatum has a decent matchup with Mobley and held his own on defense. On the offensive end, horford was killing us a bit. Had favorable matchups with guards but sat at the 3 instead of posting up or screening. When you’re missing every 3 and have guards on you, post them up. It forces defense to collapse and spaces the floor for shooters. Would’ve been a good opportunity to put tatum at the 5 or at least bring Hauser in for PP. Idk, feels like Hauser not getting PT is a bit ridiculous as he stretches the floor, bangs shots, hustles, and understands switches on defense. Game 4 Monday, Happy Mother’s Day!
“It’s all situational – fourth quarter, close game. I’ve been shooting midrange jumpers my whole life, and that’s essentially when you need it – game is close, you need a bucket. You can always rely on that.”https://x.com/noadalzellnba/status/1789510948849377548?s=46&t=HI3aeZH85K5r39q7hi652w
It's typically the same pattern. Someone (JT/JB/etc) will stand at the top of the key, attack the paint, run into a crowd, and either make a difficult finish at the rim or kick out to a (presumably) open shooter.
My question is, why don't two players attack the pain simultaneously with the intention to finish at the rim? (i.e., the 2nd player is not just there for an offensive rebound). We rarely pass the ball within the paint. In yesterday's game, I saw the Cavs doing this all the time (e.g. Mitchell + Mobley), but we rarely did.
I understand that we have great shooters, and 1 or 2 will be open when the opposition is collapsing the paint on the dribbler. But doesn't this make our offense too predictable (if kicking out) or low percentage (if finishing in a crowd)?
Tatum is such a better player when he plays aggressive like this, still took some dumb shots.
We can’t guard dmitch and that might just be something we have to deal with, he’s gonna get his
We’re a tough team to beat if Jrue plays like that every night OR Derrick white plays like he did in game 1
I think Joe needs to play Tillman or Luke for a few more minutes to give Al a break (with KP being out). AL looked gassed out there at times
Lastly, that Pritchard deep three in the middle of the 4th might’ve been one of the biggest shots of the game.
Boys are back, onto the next 🍀
Just the photo itself would be fine, having autographs would be better tho. I would be grateful if anyone with the poster can scan it and provide an electronic version of it too.
i know tatum just spoke on this and it began a conversation between me and a cavs fan friend of mine. his argument is we absolutely are, other than the KD warriors there isn’t a better starting 5 than the 2024 celtics this century. i’m not sure i disagree with him. yet, i still don’t think of this squad as a super team… maybe if we win this year my thoughts will change. what do you guys think?
Let’s finish this in 5 and get Al a nice rest

Loved seeing Al used more tonight. This kept Tillman on the bench and kept Kornet under 10 minutes. We’re so athletic and can take advantage of Mobley on the bench and when Cleveland puts Wade at the 5.
I think he could fit this team. Our bench lacks shot creators, and jaquez fits the bill. He could split minutes with hauser.
Its been so long😭😭😭
