Aloha, what is your favorite Loco Moco in Waikiki? I am staying at the Hilton. Thank you!
The UH Cancer Center’s Healthy Diet & Lifestyle Study 2 is still looking for more adults (age 35-69) on Oahu, especially men. This study explores how changes in dietary habits, along with regular physical activity, can affect the amount of fat stored in the abdomen and reduce disease risk. Where can I find this ice cream in the Honolulu, Waikiki area? I had this ice cream in Maui and I've been wanting it ever since. I'm pretty sure that's the brand, if not, please correct me. Thanks
36F... Took a job at Straub in Honolulu that's about 0.7 mile from where I'm staying and wondering how safe it'd be to walk it at 6am (google maps says it's about 17-20 to do so).
Comparatively, I live in LA...
Amateur photographer here, how can I get involved with doing wrestling photography on the island? I used to wrestle, and I remember one of the guys on the team’s dad would come out and take our beginning of season pics + would go out to meets and stuff and get our pictures during our matches.
Looking back at those I’m like “damn I really did that” and would like to return the favor to the wrestling community that has helped me out (even if I’m originally from TX). How do the seasons here work, and would I need a specific license or any sort or credentials to get my foot in the door?
My sister and brother in law are moving back to Hawaii next month (she was raised there until moving here to Indiana in her teens, he has only visited once), and my husband and I are trying to figure out what to gift them for Christmas. Since they’re already pretty stressed trying to figure out what things to bring with them, we didn’t want to add to that stress by gifting them objects or clothes. They’re also both in their early twenties and just beginning their careers so they wont have a ton of expendable income for fun outings together. We thought that getting them gift cards to different restaurants, breweries, etc., would be a perfect idea! I tried pick her brain very inconspicuously by asking her what coffee shops and restaurants she’s most excited to go to when they get back there, but apparently they will be living in downtown Honolulu and she and her family didn’t spend a ton of time there.
I had an idea to get them a membership to the Honolulu zoo, because she loves animals and when we went to the zoo here back in July, she told me about how her mom would take she and her siblings to the Honolulu zoo so I thought it would be a sweet thing to get them. However, I can’t decipher from the zoo website whether the membership means you get free admission for a full year or just unlimited paid admission for a full year as well as a set amount of free general admission day passes. The zoo we have here offers free admission for a full year with membership but I don’t want to assume. I also have been doing some digging on here and it seems like the Honolulu zoo isn’t highly impressive to people to who have visited often?
She is a school teacher, crafty, bookworm, and likes to keep active (soccer, surfing, gym). And he loves all things outdoors and being social. They both love trying new breweries and restaurants (Any recommendations for the best malasadas? She’s talked about how much she misses them!) We just really love them and want to gift them some sweet date nights or weekend fun, and since I’ve never had the pleasure of visiting, I figured I’d ask on here. Sorry for the long post!
Mahalo ☺️
Hey Reddit people, I’m a 20-something female and I’ve been thinking about picking up serving or bartending this summer. I’ve worked in the serving industry off island and did pretty well.
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s worked in the industry around the East Side or town area—does it pay well enough to cover bills and living expenses here? If it’s worth it, I’d even consider leaving my current job to do it full time.
Any tips on where to look or what the realistic earning potential is in those areas would be super helpful. Mahalo!!
Wondering if anybody works for the Department of Forestry and Wildlife that wouldn’t mind chatting.
Dang. a 28% decrease on one and a 14% increase on another. Are they toying with me?
This is a very random, very specific request, but if anyone knows any biology nerds who could help me setup an at-home mitochondria imaging lab in Wahaiwa, please let me know!
Mahalo!
My car runs fine but always fails for windshield wiper fluid not working which I refuse to fix cause I never use it. Any recs for good safety places that basically just check your blinkers and simple stuff?? Used to go to one guy on Mookalua st but he’s gone now
Aloha. I wrote this article for The Atlantic and thought folks here might be interested.

I did park out stall but didn't realize I would be ticketed. I parked in front of an abandoned building. I'm planing to go to court and try to fight it. A no parking sign might be helpful to let people know they shouldn't park in front of abandoned buildings? All vehicles parked there were obviously not blocking any traffic.
