Any English Speaking Medical Clinics around the Peace Park Area?

Been in Hiroshima the last few days. It appears I’ve got some pretty bad strep throat and alleviating it with ibuprofen and water hasn’t really been helping.

I tried using the Japan Tourism Board tool to find any place but I may be using it wrong or the only places that deal with this are 2 hours away

Please help asap!

Trying to track down a jewelry shop

I was visited Hiroshima last month and spent a day on Miyajima. I came across a jewelry shop that had gold necklaces with a small torii gate and birthstone.

I’m regretting not buying one and am hoping to connect with the shop to have one shipped.

Does anyone recognize this shop? I’m struggling to find it online.

I walked roughly from the ferry to the Itsukushima shrine, then to the Mt Misen cable car for reference

To the school girls making a Tik Tok video at atomic dome park. Thank you for making me laugh.

Something about a bunch of japanese school girls in same style jacket and uniform clothes laughing over and over after restarting their video to try the dance again sparked some laughter in me. Especially since it was like 9 pm in pitch black darkness. One of the highlights of my trip. Such an empty park but could hear girls laughing hysterically in the distance.

Neighbourhoods in Hiroshima

Hi there! I'm looking to launch an AcroYoga studio in Hiroshima City. This is a partnered yoga practice, very social, physical contact, but within a framework of mutual support, respect and consent. I live in Onomichi, and will commute in once or twice a week to teach classes in a rented studio. Beyond this, the nearest city for such a practice is Osaka.

I'm not very familiar with Hiroshima city itself. I've visited once, and intend to get more acquainted, bus looking for a birds-eye of the town. Beyond Tenjingawa, the Peace Dome memorial park, and of course, Costco, I was hoping for an idea of what the rest of town is like.

There seem to be these long islands reaching toward the coast in what appear to be called the Naka and Minami wards, and I was wondering what this was like. There also look to be neighbourhoods along the hills that seem to cradle the city.

Ideally, I'd like to teach in studios that are closer to park-y, farmers-markets or university-town vibe sorta areas that are still close enough to transit. Do such neighbourhoods exist in Hiroshima? On my last brief trip, the closest to what I got of that sense was around the Hiroshima Gate Park area.

Would love to hear recommendations and descriptions from residents!

Thank you :)

Help me track this chicken restaurant down please !

I was here back in April 2023. Pretty sure this is the correct picture. It was a big open room pub. I swear, this chicken guy was their mascot. I've been searching for a long time on googlemaps, can't seem to find it.

It was walking distance from the Hiroshima International Youth House (JMS Aster Plaza). I think I went there in the evening and remember all the other food places were closed.

Anyone recognize that chicken guy on the beer glass? I ate some fried chicken before that fish. I think it was a chicken place? Would definitely like to go back in the upcoming months!!!

HELP ME FIND THIS PLACE, I BEG YOU!

Edit: The entrance was up some stairs and through a door.

Need to hire a local for an instore purchase in Hiroshima!

Hi everybody!

I was in Hiroshima about a month ago for a couple of days during my holidays (was shocked, have had the opportunity to really see the world and this was top 3 most gorgwous cities I've seen).

Found a shop that I loved, but now I am regreting not purchasing more from them.

Would like to contact a local (or expact living there) to go in, purchase a few things and then have them shipped to Europe (Netherlands). Of course all the troubles would be compensated and all costs covered ahead of time. Should not be a big package at all, nor to expensive.

If anybody is available or know of someone who could help me out, greatly appreciated!

Fingers crossed :3

Superbowl 2025

Hey Everyone,

This year the Super Bowl is going to be on February 10th.

Last year some people that I know went to Kemby’s to watch it (I couldn’t go because I was working). I am wondering if this year still at Kemby’s the main watch party?

I already took the day off this time 😂

Cheers!

Hiroshima: A space to introspect for the power seekers

Hiroshima, a city that connects your childhood with the present in its own unique ways. As soon as you arrive in the city and get out of the train station - something flutters in your heart. There is a distinct moment where you close your eyes and wonder at the randomness of life. All the stories that your parents told in your childhood about the atomic bombing come alive to you. You wonder at the mysteries of life and the randomness of where all it takes you. A boy born in a very small unknown town of India standing here and visiting another remote city of Japan that has no other historical significance but the only fact that it was ruined by an atomic bomb. Who would have thought and planned that you would be standing at the epicenter of the atomic bombing site and soaking it all in. The futility of war and inflicting pain and misery on innocent people and being puppets in the hands of power seekers. Life can get unfair for no fault of yours and there is only one emotion you feel - of gratitude that you are alive with an awakened consciousness of differentiating good over bad.

Besides these introspective thoughts, the city of Hiroshima provides you just the right pace that one often needs in their busy travels. A slow, quiet and introspective energy and away from the hustle bustle of a big city but still modern enough to keep you plugged in with the current world. One of my favorites from the Japan trip.

Jobs in (Higashi)Hiroshima.

I don't know if there are any hidden rules I missed, but I hope this post is within the Community Rules.

Anyway, I'm posting to ask if anyone knows where I could get a decent job that can sponsor a visa.

I've checked on multiple job boards and haven't found much (within my current skill-range) outside of Gaba and Amity, and other ALT stuff, so I'd really appreciate any more out-of-sight information from any local.

I'm currently an English teacher at a preschool/after school in Fukuoka. I'll be moving to Higashihiroshima in early April with my partner. I'm willing to work in Higashihiroshima or Hiroshima City.

Thank you!

Is there website or forums that I can look into for events in Hiroshima for social networking?

Pardon the not-so-directly linked post to Hiroshima.

One of my colleagues at JTB is developing a foreigner-aimed tour program in Shimane-ken. For that purpose, we're looking for trial-run participants from Hiroshima who can participate on January 11-12, 2025. JTB will fully bear all costs, including transportation to and from Shimane, accommodation, and meals. Students will be prioritized, but 社会人 is also welcome!

More details on the poster and Tour Plan below. We're waiting for your application!

Miyajima and Peace museum questions

Hi, elderly parents and I are visiting Hiroshima over the new years. Is visiting Miyajima on Jan 2 ok with the crowds? We won’t hike all the way up the mountain. Mainly just walking around. What time is advisable for visiting sans crowds?

It’s been a long time since I visited the peace museum. Should I book the online tickets and visit early morning/late afternoon?

We are doing the early morning visit to Hiroshima Castle for New Year’s celebration.

Any other advice?

Places to drink open until at least 2AM?

I have a job where I work until 11PM, and I'd like to find a place to go grab a drink by myself afterwards. All the places I can find seem to close at midnight. Are there any solo-friendly bars I could grab a drink at that are open late? Maybe even one where I could meet some friendly people?

I work near the Peace Memorial Museum and don't mind up to a 45-minute walk.

Thank you!

Need help in Hiroshima

Hi - I forgot a polo tshirt when I stayed at APA Hotel Hiroshima-Ekimae Ohashi. I'm now back in India after my trip.

It's a very dear tshirt for me. Sadly APA does not send internationally.

They want someone who can pick it and send it across. I want to just Japan post. Its okay if it takes some time but cannot pay too much towards DHL or Fedex.

Can someone pickup and send it across via post? Will share all the cost via some payment transfer tool. Thanks in advance!
