Waikīkī, also known as Waikiki Beach, is a neighborhood of Honolulu on the south shore of the island of Oʻahu in the United States state of Hawaii. The Hawaiian language name Waikīkī means spouting fresh water, for springs and streams that fed wetlands that once separated Waikiki from the interior.

I'm travelling from Australia where I have a MC card for chronic health and pain conditions.
Are there any locals who could please give me tips for where I could find some?
I land on Saturday 18/05 early in the morning.
Thanks
Trying to find the best bang for your buck on luxury hotel as it is the first time for my 8yr old daughter. She likes the pool but I want to give her the option of just hanging out right on the beachfront.
I’d also entertain any recommendations as well. Thank you in advance.
Going to Hawaii next month and trying to find a good breakfast to go to
The last time I was in Honolulu was somewhere between 2010 and 2015. I stopped by a rest stop that served grilled fish plates. Feeling adventurous, I ordered the grilled Opah not knowing what it was or tasted like. One of the best decisions made on that trip. Never forgot it and craved it when got back home.
Now I’m finally going back in July and need my Opah fix. I’ll be staying strickly in Waikiki with no car. The place I’ll be staying at has a small kitchen, so cooking is an option. I tried researching via Yelp for restaurants or markets in Waikiki that had Opah, but no luck.
Does anyone know where a dame can get some Opah in Waikiki? Any advice helps. Thanks!
hiya! I hope youre having a great day. I am wondering to anyone’s knowledge or experience the commonality of hotels/resorts serving free breakfasts? It seems very rare, and that’s okay if it’s not the case. I am wondering otherwise if anyone has any recommendations for places to stay that have a lovely breakfast cafe/restaurant attached or nearby, preferably under $350/night. Thank you!!
What happened to The Gallery? That was a fun place.
There was a bartender (Tony I think) at Duke's that would make a Hawaiian Iced Tea. All liquors were clear I believe and he finished it off with pineapple puree. Anyone got the recipe?
Heading to Waikiki in June for the first time and staying at the Outrigger Waikiki beach resort. Wondering if there is any in and out self parking close to our resort. Our resort only offers valet parking and it’s like $60 a day. Dont mind a short walk it it’s in and out with self parking.
Hello, I am looking to rent/buy a neoprene snorkeling vest when I visit in September. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help 😊
Has anyone experienced this trip with Pink Sails Waikiki? Any good? They want me to pick between 6 or 6:30 departure for my visit in August.
My husband and 13 year old son will be going to Honolulu for 4th of July.
I’ve read great things about both hotels! I originally wanted to stay at embassy suites but it was cheaper for me to stay at garden inn and was more central to more shops!
I just wanted to get a recommendation of which hotel had:
Is it worth it to pay a little more to stay at Embassy Suites?
Thank you!
I would like to go buy some Yen tomorrow for obvious reasons. What is the best rate exchange place near Honolulu that does not charge commission and does not require reservations. Or if you know any Japanese tourists...
Why are there multiple portable bathrooms in Kalakaua Ave ? Is there an event coming up?
Aloha all. I hate cleaning, and am finally ready to hire a maid service. The catch is, I live dead-center Waikiki and there is no public parking nearby. Does anyone know of any professional cleaning services that don't require parking? I'm guessing I'd buy all the cleaning supplies, but that's ok.
We used to go to Waikiki a lot several years ago and are just returning now but a lot seems to have changed. We would always rented our boards from Koa Boardsports and they always had lockers for us and everything was effortless. Now we are being told they dont have board, their lockers are limited, etc etc.
I also see theres this "Nalu" locker area which I think the city put in place. Are these safe?
I'd prefer not to rent from the beach boys since we want to dawn patrol early mornings or stay out past sunset and want the convenience of a locker to keep a week-long rental.
I'd also prefer not to pick up a used board only to leave it on consignment later. This should really not be that hard unless Waikiki has changed that much for the worse.
Any advice appreciated.
Traveling to Waikiki and want to plan ahead for groceries. Are Pasture raised eggs a thing in the area? I know space on the island is limited so i might sound ignorant but I dont see any pasture raised options at whole foods, walmart or target but regardless I would rather support a local farmer than buy eggs from those stores. can anyone tell me from experience which farms are the most ethical? Was looking at a couple of the vendors at the waikiki farmers markets too, if anybody would recommend them. Thanks!
Hi! I’ll be traveling to Waikiki and will have full days there April 5th-8th. When I went this same week last year there was an awesome street festival on Kalakaua Ave with vendors, music, food, etc. Is anything like that happening this year? Or does anyone know of any other events in Waikiki that would be fun to attend? Thanks in advance! :)
