Hi Folks Really interested in purchasing a condo in OAHU. Will have to relocate there very soon. I’d rather purchase vs renting. What should I watch out for? Any decent middle income neighborhoods? Is it realistic to find something under 300k?
Very curious Thanks
Asked the workers and they said they're gonna market toward the Ke'eamoku location. Sucked when the Walmart and Longs and Walgreens closed, and now this? It was a super convenient location for many, town feels like it's gonna get less walkable for the many nearby residents
I’m new to the island (moved here for work 2 months ago) and a colleague told me NYE fireworks are amazing here. She showed me a video from last year and it looks awesome.
My wife and I would like to take part this year so I checked the Oahu subreddit for fireworks suggestions, which indicated Waipahu was a good spot.
Any suggestions on where to park or view around that area (or other places you find good for viewing) in lieu of parking along H1? Thank you in advance!
Arriving in Honolulu tonight around 9 p.m. and our hotel is the Grand Waikikian. Any possibility of problems getting from the airport to the hotel because of New Year’s events? Any street closures to know about?
Going next week and of course the weather is going to shift on me. Anything that is recommended if it rains? I hadn’t planned on that.
Also any food places that are recommended and maybe get reservations for? No rental so things that aren’t too expensive on Lyft/Uber from Waikiki.
Hi there! I’m visiting Oahu as a solo traveller, I just got here yesterday and don’t know anyone yet. I’m looking for fun things to do on New Year’s Eve! Local music, parties, what bars are the best etc. Would love any suggestions/tips!
Hi everyone! I am planning to do a solo travel to Honolulu. I have always wanted to visit, explore the islands, take in the one of a kind views and local cafes/businesses. I do not know where to start :(. I just been hesitant because I have seen so many posts about locals not wanting any tourist because they are ruining the culture and trashing this paradise island. I would want to come because I personally want to have an amazing experience here and of course support small business. Are there any locals here that has any recommendations, tips, advice and suggestions? I know that Hawaii is a high volume tourist area and I want to avoid that. I am more of a scenery person, breathtaking views, amazing food type of person.

I’m taking a job in Honolulu , moving from New York, looking for recommendations on a long term rental. It would be my wife, my 18 month old and my golden retriever (needs to be pet friendly). Trying to keep it below $4500 a month. Would have to be in reasonable driving distance to Pearl Harbor.
We found some nice affordable family oriented communities in Kapolei, wondering what those more familiar with the area think.
.TIA.
Hello, I will be having a 11 hour layover overnight in Honolulu airport in a couple of weeks. I’m not sure about the etiquette so I was wondering, would it be okay for me to go to a McDonalds and spend 5-6 hours there? Of course I’d be ordering food and everything.. I’m from Korea, and here it is very common to spend long hours working in an establishment like fast food or cafe. Thank you (:
Why does Waikīkī, one of the most opulent tourist traps on the planet, have such terrible roads?

Hi , I just got married and took a circle island tour with my family. Our insta 360 must have fallen out of our bag which is making this search feel impossible. We stopped at macadamia nut farm, Blowhole lookout, Hawaiian treasure, Tanaka Kahuku Shrimp, China man hat, and byodo-in temple.
Not sure what to do. I’ve just tried calling the mac farm and shrimp place but they said they haven’t seen it.
Any help would be appreciated.
A dog mom reaching out to you all because my boy is very sound sensitive. i live in kaimuki and there's lots of fireworks that go off around us and sound bounces around really easy around here. im looking for a reasonable area to drive to that's not so far but also quiet enough for my dog? last year we did kapiolani park and he did well, but I wasn't prepared, it was a last minute decision when i realized how bad it was for him. i also didn't know there was going to be a midnight firework show in waikiki... Id like to prepare this year with some options and take him somewhere a lot better and scope out areas ahead of time that would also ensure our safety as well
i've prepared with trazadone and earmuffs so far.
Both my Fiance and I are moving for school. We're from neighboring Islands, but never lived on our own before. I know Honolulu is a bit more expensive, but I'm wondering if our living situation would be comfortable. We should have around $20,000 specifically for the move, then from there she would go to school while I work. We would make an estimated $4,300/month after tax. Rent is expensive (off campus), foods expensive, gas etc. With this income would we be able to live comfortably?
