Hanauma Bay has long been one of the island of Oahu’s jewels. Native Hawaiians have been enjoying life on the bay for thousands of years. The beach and surrounding natural park get their name from two Hawaiian words: “hana” which means bay and “uma” which means curved.

Hello,
We are visiting O’ahu for the first time, and wanted to check out Hanauma Bay on our free day (Sunday). Unfortunately the website crashed on me and I was one of the unlucky ones who was unable to grab a reservation at 7:00am yesterday.
Not upset about it we understand. We just want to understand the expectations around standby, walk-up for a family of 5. If we show up at 7, are we typically going to have an opportunity to be let in, or should we explore other snorkel options?
I know that the conditions are not great in February for snorkeling, but these seemed like a great option for my son. He is not a fan of big waves, nor a strong swimmer, but does like to snorkel and see fish. This seemed like a good option.
Thanks In Advance for any helpful advice for first time visitors to your beautiful island.
Does the scuba gear rentals ever sell out? Should I bring my own?
I accidentally reserved 2 military tickets. No one in my party qualifies for either. Are they going to let us in? Is it worth trying?
I tried calling the phone number on the website and got a voicemail. There was no place to cancel or edit the bookings.
In the rush to buy tickets we ended up buying extra on accident and of course they offer no refunds. Anyone want to buy these off me and want to go on Wednesday Aug 3rd at 11:10 AM please reach out to me. I have 3 tickets for that time slot. I will be there too so you don’t have to worry about them rejecting because of ID
In the rush to make a reservation, I booked it under my married name. The problem is, I only have an ID that has my maiden name… Do you think they will let me in? I’ve already paid, and given that it’s a general entree ticket, I’m praying that they will let me in. Has anything similar happened to someone else??
I got up early to reserve tickets for Hanauma Bay. I accidentally reserved 3 RESIDENT and 3 US MILITARY tickets. No one in my party of 6 qualifies for either.
Will they let us in?
