Hawaiian Airlines (Hawaiian: Hui Mokulele ʻo Hawaiʻi)is the largest operator of commercial flights to and from the U.S. state of Hawaii. It is the tenth-largest commercial airline in the United States, and is based at Honolulu, Hawaii. The airline operates its main hub at Daniel K. Hawaiian is the oldest US carrier that has never had a fatal accident or a hull loss throughout its history, and frequently tops the on-time carrier list in the United States, as well as the fewest cancellations, oversales, and baggage handling issues.

I usually book 40k first class awards on Hawaiian and notice these have disappeared. Everything shows as 80k.
From Seattle, usually if the price is less than $900, the award price would be 40k miles. Anything above is 80k. I checked a few flights which are $700 range and all are now 80k miles. I’m hoping this is a glitch as I bought 200k miles. Now I feel I got duped as my sole purpose was to buy Hawaiian first class flights.
Edit: in general if you’re an experienced traveler on Hawaiian airlines (since I’m not), what are the trends for the least crowded routes, and which route tends to have the best redemption rate? I know this is not an easy question since the redemption rates depend on the season, but I think if you fly Hawaiian enough, there might be a clearer answer. I don’t, that’s why I wanna hear from those who have flown a lot with HA.
Mahalo!
I'm a bit confused since the Alaska site says they don't offer free food, but on the HA booking site said my economy ticket includes 'i personal item, 1 cabin bag, 1 gourmet meal', but my flight says 'operated by alaska'
Will Hawaiian interline my bags if I have a transfer to SJC on Delta (separately ticketed)? Flying FC on HA and Pualani Gold in case it matters.
I know their policy online says they won't if the tickets are purchased separately, but I've previously had luck interlining to United on an LAX-DEN leg in the past. Hoping an HA employee or someone with recent experience can shed some light.
Hello-
Does anyone know what the first class cabin is like on this route? Are the cabins refurbished? What’s the IFE like?
Has anyone sat in middle seats of Row 43? Flying two parents and one toddler in car seat.
Trying to understand if seats are 16.5 or 18 inches and conflicting info received from customer service vs seat guru. Service said 18” seats only paid seats which seems wrong vs website.
Also want to understand if foot traffic is heavy (5h from Honolulu back to mainland). Would it be bothersome and crowded with all the folks walking about us waiting for the rest room? Is the rest room too smelly? Would need some privacy from time to time to help the child nap.
Debating these versus a 2-1 seat config on the aisle somewhere.
I'm going on HA 445 in December. Is there a hot meal (not the sandwich from the mainland?) on that flight in economy?
Is Starlink on thEconomy?
Any tips about that flight would be great!!!
Thanks & Mahalo
Interviewing with Hawaiian Air to be a flight attendant soon. Anyone have advice for the interview?
We purchased a vacation package through Costco Travels many months ago. There was a medical emergency(2 surgeries) just a few days before the flight and we had to cancel. Hawaiian Airline has told me over the phone and ticket that cancellation has been authorized and fees will be waived. Costco travel is saying that they haven't received any cancellation fees which amounts to $800 total. I gave Hawaiian Airline the medical proof and everything. What can I do?
My wife and I are taking our first trip to Hawaii in October. We will be flying from dfw to hnl on American, but catching the final flight into hilo on Hawaiian. We hardly ever fly and have never switched airlines before. How do I need to proceed with our checked bags? Do I need to go to luggage claim, pick them up, check them in with Hawaiian, then enter back through tsa and wait to board the Hawaiian flight? Thank you.
I just booked a trip from Cali to HA with capital one miles. Then realized my flight back from Honolulu to San Diego is on an Alaskan flight. I’ve always flown Hawaiian and loved every trip. I am wondering if there are any differences and what they are? I tried looking for similar questions but they all have to do with first class…. And I am an economy person all the way. If anyone has any feedback or tips I’d appreciate it. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
My family of 4 are flying first class OGG-SJC in A321 and have some questions that I'm hoping some can answer.
Can you compare the rows in first class? Like row 1 is bulk head but is the experience different and having the space in front good? Row 4 is against a back wall, so does the seat recline less? Row 2 and row 3 are in the middle... any thoughts?
How is the recline on these seats?
This is the first time I’ve ever used miles with any airline. Is there a trick to this? I can see and book flights from DTW to KOA with a price but when I try to use miles it says none available. Same problem if I try to go from Austin Tx. I just want to use my miles or even some of my miles to offset the cost. Any help is greatly appreciated
I have an upcoming flight from HNL->RAR that I booked in economy using Hawaiian miles. As the date approaches, I heard about the bidup program and tried to enter my record locator in the website but it said my itinerary was not eligible. I read all of the rules and eligibility requirements and I am fairly certain that I fall within the criteria and there are 8 first class seats available. For some airlines, mileage tickets are excluded from the upgrade process but the bidup rules make no mention of mileage tickets being excluded. I then called reservations who told me to call WSC who told me to submit a ticket online whose respondent told me to call WSC. The response has largely been that I should be eligible but that bidup is third party and the employees have no idea why it isn’t working for me and have no power the change it. Has anyone had any prior experience or know of any fix? Or do I need to cancel my ticket and just fork over the extra miles to be in first?
1st scenario: Our flight from HNL to LAS was averted to LAX due to a medical emergency (unconfirmed death). The flight was delayed and they suggested we drive to LAS and they would reimburse us. How do I do that?
2nd scenario: We were about to take off from SEA to HNL and had to return to the gate due to a error message. We waited on the plane for a hour for them to fix it but they removed us from the plane. After 2 hours, they gave us each $15.00 meal vouchers. Finally after 3 hours they started to give us the option to rebook on another flight. We got on the Delta flight 8 hours after the original one. Problem is that we were told that if Hawaiian rebooked us, our luggage would be delivered to that flight. Anyway, we landed and no luggage at baggage claim. We called and had to walk from Terminal 2 to terminal 1 to get our luggage. Again, no clear communication. Can we be compensated from this trip?
Has anyone shipped a pet via Hawaiian Air Cargo? I am looking to ship a 14-week-old puppy at the end of January 2025. I am wondering about any experiences using this service? Thank you so much.
Is anyone else seeing this error while trying to create a Hawaiian Miles account? I just booked a flight yesterday, and I'm trying to create an account to get my miles.
What sales has HA had in the past Black Fridays? Mahalo
Request to allow missing teen post who may be attempting to fly to Hawaii..
Hey there. Have 3 legs coming up on HA's 712. What specific row is right at the inlet of the engines? We want to still be able to see out the window but also see into the engine inlet.
Thank you! And please don't tell my wife.
What do you expect to happen in the end for the current Barclays card?
Does Hawaiian / Barclays run a referral program for their co-branded credit cards? I found some threads on some previous referral programs that seem to have expired. Is there anything currently available to earn points for referrals to new cardholders?
Anyone have a master list of these? I'm curious who the 61/F5 people all the time bumping be on zed. Lol
Hi! I am trying to purchase Hawaiian points using a credit card, but I keep getting this error.
I have tried many times but it still hasn't worked. Has anyone been able to solve this?
(PS. It's not a problem with my card; I was able to purchase other things even after I got this error)
Error: There was a problem with your authentication information, please try again.
From their website:
Main Cabin Basic, seat assignments are not available when booking the flight. Your seat will be assigned when you check in for your flight (as early as 24 hours prior to departure), or at the gate.
THEY ONLY ASSIGN SEATS AT THE AIRPORT - NEVER ONLINE
Tried to transfer from Hawaiian to Alaskan, but got an error saying "You don't have permission to access "http://myaccount.hawaiianairlines.com/?" on this server." Called Hawaiian and they said they are having an issue with the servers, and to try again in about 30 mins. Is anyone else encountering this issue?
