Hey everyone,
I’m looking for a microphone recommendation for a specific setup. I use speakers for audio instead of headphones due to sensitivity issues (ear pressure and tinnitus), but I also need a mic for gaming and communication. My biggest challenge is avoiding feedback or echo when using speakers with the mic.
Does anyone have experience with a similar setup or these mics? Are there other options I should consider? Also, any tips for using a mic and speakers without creating an echo loop would be awesome!
Thanks in advance
Good morning everyone I need to set up my first hifi/av system but I'm very undecided on what to do.
Uses of the system: Xbox 4k/120 Video streaming Turntable Liquid music
My room is small, about 17mq, and the TV (55") is two meters from the sofa. I could only position a central channel above the TV by about a meter. I'm not interested in the rear ones Budget (ampli+speakers) about 1300$/€
The question is this: should I get a 2.1 stereo amplifier or an av to turn off the channels I won't use? For watching movies and games with all the new standards (dolby, dts, etc.) is a stereo (denon 900/marantz 70s stereo) enough? Or do I risk having encoding problems or, even worse, losing dialogues in the absence of a central speaker?
Thanks
What would you go for similar price, Monitor audio bronze 100 with stands, or Q Acoustics 3050i?
Can’t decide between these two. Wondering what would give me more wide and open sound in a medium room.
i picked this up from a goodwill for $20 a while back. i’ve personally enjoyed it a lot, but i haven’t been able to find much info/discussions online about it. Does anyone else have any experience or thoughts about this unit? Any notable negatives?
Have been rocking the 641s for over 20 years now. Has served me well but looking to make a change. What would you suggest for up to $500 range? Vonatoo T0 plus?
I currently have two 12in woofers in car boxes and a set of 8 in woofers in a ported dual car box. I also have a 1000watt car amplifier. How do I convert one or all of these subs into something I can use in my home? What are some budget bookshelf/ tower speakers I could purchase that would pair well with these?
I'd just like to see what I can do with what I have now before going out and purchasing new subwoofers. I'm really into bass heavy music and would like to experience it to its fullest potential in my home. I've heard an inverter will do the trick to power the subs using said amp in my home but I'm not sure what exactly to get and how to hook it all up to my computer.
I ordered a pair of Kanto YU4 speakers for $250, Kanto SP6HD speaker stands for $89, and the Kanto Sub8VMG 8” subwoofer for $215. Anybody else running this setup and how do ya’ll like it?
Plan to use in my pc desk setup for casual gaming/music.
I had looked online and saw other speakers but those were geared for more hardcore audiophiles and mixing/producing?
They should come in a few days so I’ll see what the hype is about and if worth keeping
Hi there,
So I have acquired over the years some free audio equipment from my field of work and I'm trying to get it set up as a 2.1 system. Some of this kit might seem a bit overkill. I have 2x Martin audio AQ6's powered by a Crown XLi 1500 and a TOA FB-100 subwoofer powered by a Crown XLi 2500. I've ran a optical converter from the TV and at the moment just have a direct feed into the amps. I'm looking for a budget pre amp or DSP I could use for this so any recommendations would be very helpful :)
Excuse the cabling in the photo it's all exposed as I test the system
I am no bass head but would love to get some more on the low-end now that I have my t5v's properly setup. I also use this setup for my main PC so also includes gaming and chatting (miss the low end for gaming).
Initially I was all in on the t10s (should be perfect pairing) but heard about the nasty standby issue and since I like to listen to low music or voice chat, the standby issue sounds like hell I don't want to live and will run into.
Current thoughts while black Friday is going:
Anyone have any experience with or bias towards the above? Overall reading the PreSonus sounds like the best on paper but can't find any comments from people running that combo.
Thanks in advance!
I need something to power it at home what type of receiver can I use and what would be some good speakers to use aswell please 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I have such fond memories of the Tripath amps from my youth. Last one I owned was a Topping that sadly died years ago. But I remember how warm and crisp the vocals seemed.
I own a BT20 with the TPA3116 in it now. It’s perfectly fine. But it doesn’t feel as impressive as I remember the Tripath amps being.
It’s totally possible either my standards changed or my hearing has deteriorated over time. But I’m wondering if anyone has done a direct comparison of the two.
I’m currently have kef q150 paired with a WiiM amp and planning to relocate the set up to my tv room. With the Black Friday sales I’m thinking to get an “upgrade” to my main set up. I listen to vinyl and WiFi streamed formats. Would something like a pair of polk r200 with audiolab 6000 give me a ‘wow’ factor type upgrade in sound or would I need to spend more for that? I’m not trying to solve any existing issues except for acknowledging that a sub would probably help musically.
Found Martin Logans listed on FB marketplace for $175. I'm fairly new in to the audio space and see that these are older speakers. I've been having a hard time finding any recent pricings, but these seem to be expensive speakers when they were being sold. Are they still worth that price now? Considering getting this for an apartment living room TV set up.
Edit: I also found these while out of town so I have no way to test them. If the price is good, is it worth risking getting them without being able to test them until I bring them back to my place?
What are some good active speakers under $300 that will work well with a Fluance RT81 record player? I’ve pretty much committed to the Fluance RT81, and I would honestly rather have active speakers (not really looking to passive and amp)
I’m looking for a decent speaker system for daily use in my room, looking to spend around $500. I wanna have it connected to my tv for movies and Xbox but also be able to switch to my phone via Bluetooth so I can play music.
Right now I’m looking at the KEF q150 speakers to go with the Yamaha rs202.
Just wanted to make sure that this setup is gonna have all the capabilities I’m looking for. Also open to suggestions on alternatives.
Hello, I'm fairly new to audio. I purchased speakers and a sub to listen to music and play games.
I have my Kali LP6 V2's hooked up via RCA to RSL Speedwoofer 10s mkii's and I'm getting a very loud static from the speakers. The sub is hooked to a headphone amp via an RCA to 3.5mm headphone jack.
The static is a lot worse when I have a game running (probably caused by the gpu). I was looking at several solutions like a ground loop isolator or getting an audio interface but I'm unsure what to do. I've read that RCA cables are unbalanced so I was looking at XLR cables. The problem is the sub only accepts RCA cables I think?
Does anyone know a solution to solve the static and even maximize the audio quality? Thanks for any suggestions!
Currently own AudioEngine D1 DAC and AudioEngine N22 Amp, powering Omega LoudSpeakers 3T Bookshelfs
Want to change it up and looking to go the tube route. Would like to get one unit if possible that meets all my criteria, but open to piercing it out. Aesthetics are important as well, so something looking cool as a single unit or stackable.
Used for mostly music (EDM, lounge music) and light gaming. Work from home, so music is important.
Requirements: Bluetooth, tubes, sub out, and 4.4 Balanced out for headphones (not super important though)
I am looking at the Dayton Audio HTA20 or HTA100 (they don't have the balanced out), but I am aware the DAC is said to be not great on those, so can either keep my current one or get something else.
Also looking at the xDuoo TA-22, but then would need an amp to power speakers and sub.
Would like some comments on if the above items are ok and some other suggestions. Budget would be no more than $750 CAD.
Just got a pair of Genelec 8020D (active, XLR Analog Input), I do own a Beyerdynamic T90, and wondering if I could get an amp+dac to support both devices. The budget is around $500 (want nothing fancy), best if it can support Bluetooth as well. Kinda sensitive to white noise etc, so it will be great if the choice is quiet(er) when not in use. I got SMSL M500 MKIII, Topping DX5, iFi xDSD Gryphon, and xDuoo XD-05 in the list right now, can I get some suggestions on any of these devices? Also open to any other options. Thanks in advance!
Currently running a Marantz Sr7500 also have an onkyo sr313 a marantz pm9 amd a AWA black beat mkii.
To the point , Currently running x2 Onkyo skf4800s through the sr7500. Seeing lots of options like wharfdale 9.6 and various dali Md polk towers on Facebook asker place.
What would be a recommend solid upgrade if saw them in market place?
Keen for opinions so I can do some google-fu
Setting 12x10ft bedroom for 7.1.4 setup, and am looking for surrounds suggestions. In my room, SSCS5 looks too big, and Samsung Swa9100s looks too small. I'm looking for something midway.
I plan on buying 6 surround speakers, making 4 of them height channels, and 2 sides. Budget and space both are very tight, so any suggestions for <$100 pair which is smaller than SSCS5?
I don’t know if this is the right place to ask but I have a pair of passive harabinger speakers that would normally be used for concerts and shit and I was wondering since they are powered my there own amp couldn’t I technically use them with a normal car amp and use them in my car?? I don’t see how it wouldn’t work and since they uses a 6.3mm aux I can js take some old cables cut one end connect them to the amp and plug the other into the speakers and it would use my radio as a receiver so wouldn’t that technically work?
Hi, I previously had a Topping MX3 which broke on me, and I am looking for a replacement.
I am looking for a device that will let me power my Micca MB42 speakers as well as my headphones, Dt770s. I want to use the device at my computer desk and be able to switch the output between the two easily without unplugging either. I do not need the bluetooth feature that the MX3 had. The switching of output conveniently is really the only feature that I care about.
Any suggestions? I don't have very high standards for audio quality, I am mainly looking for a budget option that will do what I am looking for. Ideally, the solution would be no more than $150 cad (roughly $100 usd) but I appreciate that most options would be more expensive so I am still receptive to other ideas.
Thank you in advance.
Got a Sony PS-LX310 turntable from my wife as a gift been using it with a Bluetooth speaker, inherited the Yamaha rx- v800 looking to set it up with some speakers now that I have my own place. Set up would be in my living 15x10 9 foot ceiling, it does have a large opening to the rest of my main floor. Been looking at the Klipsch R50m but I’ve read a lot of mixed things. Budget about $300-400 CAD.
I’m currently running the following setup: • Source: Mac Studio • DAC: SMSL DO400 (full-balanced) • Processor: miniDSP Flex (for Dirac Live and bass management) • Subwoofer: SVS SB3000 • Amplifier: Topping PA5 II • Speakers: Revel M126Be
While this system sounds great, it feels a bit fragmented. I’m considering upgrading to a more integrated solution that simplifies the signal chain without compromising (or ideally improving) performance.
Does the NAD C389 fit the bill as an upgrade? Key considerations for me: 1. Retaining Dirac Live for room correction. 2. Subwoofer integration with proper bass management. 3. Equal or better performance (at least on paper) compared to my current setup.
Hi guys, i'm looking for some advice. I would like the best bass frequency for some DJ speakers that i'm looking to buy online. I've been DJing for 30 years and wanted speakers that best suit my budget.
I've narrowed it down to three speakers now. I'm aware that the frequencies of around 40 hz and up are good bass for DJ speakers and from my understanding 40 hertz and below is more on the deep bass area. Which of these 3 bass Frequencies would be best for a nice solid bass sound for House Music?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I’ve been looking to pickup my first real system and have been strongly considering the Yamaha A-S301, but I keep seeing the Emotiva on sale for almost half the price. Should I consider this?
I also see that it says this amp can be used with or without a preamp, but i can’t find anything that says this is an integrated amplifier, so do I need a separate preamp or not?
For context, the amp will be used for mixed stereo listening and tv/gaming use. But I suppose I’m more focused on music. Size is not a factor. I’m still leaning towards the Yamaha but if the Emotiva offers comparable sound for half the price I’ll get it
I'm struggling to understand how to wire up my Sub (RSL Speedwoofer Mk2) and my amp(Yamaha A-S301). I'm considering either Option #1 OR Option #2.
Option 1 uses the SUB-OUT on the amp, but it doesn't really match what the sub manual says on page 10. If this works, do I just set the crossover frequency to match what my speaker's manual says to do:
set to “small” when using a subwoofer and set the crossover frequency between 50-80Hz
Also, how would I set my speaker to "small", since I'm using an integrated amp instead of a receiver?
Option 2 is the only correct method (method #3) the sub manual states (I think?). Is this any better than option #1?
Thanks!
