Is there anything that will play loud music while at home from my usb stick So I can play video games on my TV and kisten to music.. do not want to use cell phone. No Bluetooth. I have blietooth speakers that aren't loud enough Ty in advance
My trusty Denon DRA-435A finally decided to release the magic smoke last week, so I figured it was finally time to do a couple upgrades! I found a guy selling a Yamaha R-S300 on Facebook marketplace for $100, which replaces the old denon perfectly! Figured after that, now was as good of time as any to upgrade the old $50 Dayton Audio speakers and get something better. I was intending on getting the KEF Q150's but when I heard these Foundation B1's I actually liked the bass on these a lot more! At some point here, I plan on upgrading the turntable from my AT LP-60, but she's working great for now!
I’ve been using this thing for god knows how many years as a 2.1 system.
I love it. More than loud enough, and perfectly clear.
But I need to do away with the sub. It won’t fit where I need it to right now.
Can anyone suggest a replacement in a 2.0 type of set-up? Ideally, with the speakers a similar size as the originals?
Am I living in a dream world, or, does such a product exist?
I've seen this just now on Facebook market place for £50! Anyone had one of these is it worth it? Looking to upgrade from one of those shitty turntables with speakers. This also comes with Panasonic speakers it's the lbt-d507
My budget would be £200, is possible in 2024? UK

Hello everyone,
I'm currently looking to upgrade my audio system at home. About 5-6 yours ago, without any prior experience and with not a lot of research, i bought myself a Logitech Z906 as a home theater and something to listen music to. A bit afterwards I also got a House of Marley vinyl player, which may not be the best thing ever, but it served my needs and sounded good to me at first.
However, now I'd like to update and upgrade with a nicer sounding system, that could potentially double as something to listen vinyl on, but also use a home theater. My current budget is probably around 600-700 Euros, with also whatever i can get for the Logitech (maybe 100-150 euros) and the vinyl player (around 100-150 euros i assume). In total I guess 800-1000 Euros. I am living in Germany.
I am well aware that for that amount of money I am getting second-hand stuff. I would love vintage speakers, amps etc., but I also haven't done any proper repairs.
I am also open to keeping the Logitech for movies and just adding a stereo system for my vinyl player.
Yes, I am a proper beginner, so if there is also another subreddit, where i could get further help, it would be mightily appreciated!
I’m a total audio noob so hoping I’m in the right place to get some advice on how to get these 2nd hand passive speakers working. Specs on the speakers are as follows - Impedence: 4 Ohm, Sensitivity 90dB, Amplifiers 10-100 W.
Ideally i’d mainly use the speakers as bluetooth, can I just buy a budget bluetooth amp on Amazon? The speakers didn’t come with any cables so could I buy and hook up RCA cables to a bluetooth amp?
Any guidance would be much appreciated!
I have 5 small satellite Paradigm speakers I'd like to repurpose to use in a pole barn. I'd like to play FM radio and Bluetooth sources. Eventually I'd like to add 2 outdoor speakers to play over a volleyball court. Looking for something simple that would manage.
Setup:
Yamaha AS801 < Topping E50 < LGC8
So I've had this gear for quite awhile and added a TV to the mix. The idea here was to stream live concerts via Plex. Im already using the optical input on my amp for another device and had an E50 DAC laying around so I decided to hook that up and use it's optical input, then feed it to my amp..
Sound quality is excellent, no problems there. However, every 5, 10, sometimes 20 seconds there will be an audio hiccup. It doesn't boot the video out of sync, its just a very distracting recurring hiccup.
Anyone deal with this before? I don't think it's the stream/Plex because it is a direct stream and streams everywhere else in my home fine. I don't have issues like this when playing audio from the network using my Wiim. Could it be an issue with the E50? Any insights appreciated.
I listen to mostly classical music and electronic music and would thus like a nice pair of budget audiophile speakers. Classical music sounds barely discernible on my current Sonos Ones. I like how it sounds on my Sennheisser Hd600 and would like speakers providing at least the same, if not better sound quality. Budget is $400-500 for the entire pair. Thanks in advance!
Didn't know where to post, if there's a better place to post then please let me know.
I have the P12-300SB-FF subwoofer, connected to a Yamaha AS301B Integrated Amplifier, (also with Q Acoustics 3030i Bookshelf Speakers, but that's probably irrelevant to this post). I never have the sub blasted loud, never had an issue but yesterday i was listening to music and realised the sub wasn't working. The light is on so it's getting power from the plug socket and it's connected to the amp with an RCA cable, but there zero sound/movement coming from the sub. l've not changed/fiddled with any settings, it's been on the same settings since I got it. It's just suddenly stopped working.
I've had it for 2 years and 2 weeks, so typical it's 2 weeks out of warranty.
I have no idea what l'm doing with stuff like this so don't know if it's the sub, the amp, or the cable. l've ordered a new cable which will arrive tomorrow to see if that's the issue and l've emailed bk electronics where I bought the sub from so waiting to hear back from them. But in the meantime l'm wondering if there's anyone that could help or give an idea of what's going on for it tO just suddenly not work and point me in the direction of figuring out a fix.
Thanks.
I'm finishing my basement, so I have the opportunity to drop some speakers into the ceilings. While I have a dedicated home theater room with deliberate placement of speakers, in the main rec room I want to just have some in-ceiling speakers for CASUAL listening to music. I'm thinking of grabbing four of Monoprice's alpha in-ceiling speakers, and then if I feel like it at some point, adding a subwoofer.
Should I be adding more? I assume I'd just plug in the speakers as front L, front R, surround R, surround L, and have at it.
Is it bad to have the fronts and surrounds have the same size?
I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong subreddit, but I'm hoping to get some advice on my audio setup.
I recently moved into a new apartment with a big TV, but the sound quality is pretty bad. I'm looking to invest in a budget-friendly audio setup. My girlfriend is a big vinyl fan, and ideally, I'd like a system that works well for both the TV and a turntable.
For the turntable, I'm considering the Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB. It seems like a great option for beginners. However, I'm unsure about the soundbar. I was looking at the Sony HT-G700, but I'm not sure if soundbars are a good fit for turntables in general.
Here are my concerns: Will this turntable work with soundbar? Is soundbar even a good option that would work both with TV and turntable?
P.S. I'm open to suggestions for subreddits that might be a better fit for this type of question, if this isn't right ones.
Hi all,
I have a Desktop PC where I play Spotify and YouTube music. I want to hook it up to my Receiver 25ft away. A 3.5mm audio cable will totally work. Would I notice a difference if I bought an optical sound card and cable instead? My receiver does have HDMI inputs as well, but since I failed many times to get ARC to work that format is dead to me. Thanks.
My current setup:
Chromecast Audio > DAC > Active speakers (audioengine a5+)
I want to add the RCA input off my phono preamp into this. I can physically disconnect from the DAC output and connect to the preamp output, but would an RCA splitter (eg something like this) introduce a significant amount of noise when the turntable isn't running? I'd like to have both inputs available at all times.
thanks!
Hi everyone, I recently sold my old AVR to switch to the Cambridge CX series with the CXA61 and CXNv2. I am very happy so far but yesterday noticed that on my Apple TV when watching content on Disney+ or YouTube, there are random audio dropouts. It’s not always the same position but really sporadic. The connection is ATV to LG TV (HDMI) and LG TV to CXN (Toslink) to CXA (Toslink).
Any ideas how to troubleshoot?
Hi y'all, I'm in search for a bluetooth receiver that is:
Any suggestion?
I found a pair of b&w 606 bookshelf speakers used for $400. Seemingly like new condition. I’m interested in getting them for a home theater in a small apartment. Worth a buy?
Would a Topping D50 III work ? I wonder why this Topping unit not more popular? Cant find a single review, even on Amazon.
I will use those as desktop speakers. Distance is 60-70 cm from each. The room is around 12 square meters.

They are on big sale right now and getting the a305s or the v5s is actually more expensive. Should i go for the v7s or consider a 5 inch alternative?
received these from my dad that we had at the old house. he knows they’re supposed to go into a different “amp”(not sure if that’s the right word), but not sure where to go next. i have a standard lg tv that i would like to ultimately use it for movies and things. is that even possible? they cord i have for it is a set of MH 750 plus.
so i guess my questions are: what things will i ultimately be able to attach to these speakers? what’s a good budget “amp” i’m supposed to connect these speakers to? really trying to go as low as possible because i don’t have much expendable outcome and am saving up to move. is there any other type of attachment i’m missing for this?
thanks in advance!
Let me preface by saying I am very much a beginner to all this. Entry-level in every sense of the word.
I got into speakers late last year after purchasing a pair of discounted Focal Chora 806 bookshelfs. I've tried them in different setups and environments (including with the stands) and as of right now, I have them on my PC desk angled to my ears, powered by an old crappy Opus One A 2691A 100W Stereo Amp (https://avaustralia.com.au/content/uploads/pdf/opus%20one/A2691A%20manual.pdf), which was basically a leftover pickup from my old place. I say crappy because I can hear a hissing sound from my 806s, and hear the same hissing sound if I plug a pair of headphones into the 1/4 jack.
Because of this, I recently bought a Yamaha RX-V4A with an ebay discount. Hasn't arrived yet, but it's safe to assume it will be a lot better than the old cheap amplifier. I also like the fact that it's an AV Receiver, because I haven't settled with exactly what I want from my speaker setup, and a Receiver opens up more options, like hooking it up to a TV and maybe setting up surround sound.
Taking all this into account, I currently have a 2.0 bookshelf setup. I think the next logical step is to add a subwoofer at some point because it works for both music listening and home theatre. I have been told to avoid a lot of the cheaper options like the Polk XT12 and the Klipsch woofers, and that an SVS SB/PB 1000 is a good starting point. The thing is, the more I read about these models, the more I see people saying that the Pro versions are far better, and easily worth the premium because of the app. I am not a dedicated audiophile, and have no intention of getting extensively into EQing. I bought the RX-V4A because it has a cool feature called YPAO that optimizes and tunes the system for my room. This is what I intend on using and have a preference for keeping manual tweaks to a minimum. With this in mind, should I really be paying a premium for the Pro version of the SB/PB 1000? It's currently a $410 AUD difference ($275 USD) and closer to $700 AUD for the PB-1000 Pro.
Besides subs, I am also seeking further clarification on the conjecture around centre channels. Is it true that MTM designs are actually sub-optimal in a home theatre setup? Would I be better off just running a single bookshelf mounted upright between the L/R speakers?
My system will be in a medium-sized bedroom.
I put together an audio visualizer with a broken TV I found, but from what I have read about it, I did everything correctly, I just need a stronger audio signal for the coils to reflect waveforms. So what stereo amplifiers do y’all recommend?
Got some really nice speakers. Made in Sweden 1989. Solid wood. Made by the late Bengt “Burr” Pettersson.
Looks fantastic but the sound is more muddy than what I expected. Want to check the crossovers. But I can’t open them.
There was hidden lock screws in the back. I tried very many positions on the screws. But nothing….
I have a Technics SL-Q210 turntable and I would like to add to it an amp and a pair of passive speakers:
For the amp, I found this, whit pre-amp. I heard that it should be a good basic amp, isn’t it?
For the speakers: I found a second hand pair or Infinity Reference 31i for 160€. Is it a good deal?
From an impedance point of view, they seem compatible to me.
Any help would be highly appreciated!
Hi all!
Few months ago I bought a pair of B&W DM620 speakers, which I am very happy with up to this day. I paired it with a Sony STR-DE135 stereo receiver I got for free from my parents since they didn’t use it anymore. While I’m totally fine with the sound it puts out, it bothers me it gives a certain hissing noise when there isn’t playing any music.
Is there a simple solution to resolving this hiss by adding a amp or will I have to cut out the Sony and replace it?
My setup is:
Sony STR-DE135 B&W DM620 Pioneer PD-M426 disc player Technics SL-d202 TT + dap audio PRE 101 pre-amp
Thanks in advance
